Thanks for the review Joe. I'm new to all this and older than most so I wanted the safest and easiest way to ascend and descend I could buy. I bought the Chicane and Zig Zag last year but so far only cut a few 40-80 Pines and Spruce trees. I've been reading and practicing a lot and hopefully after a few more minor details are resolved I can get to doing some hardwoods as well. Personally I would rather work SRT in the canopy (due to less friction) but its so much easier to advance DRT with these mechanical tools. At 57 years old, I'm probably going to do more specialized cutting and trimming because they're some things I'd just assume pass on........like using the big saw way up high in a tree. I'm in great shape and the heights aren't a big deal but rigging big stuff is fairly intimidating at my age. I need to find somebody who wants to move to MI for the summer and get paid good to be a ground guy and have me buy all his gear for him. I'll have to throw that around at the open house I'm going to next month.

It was the music you chose that kept me interested I watched that video probably 50 times due to the fact I am a sponge for information that I need to have when I go upon a quest!! 🙏🙏 My review for my mechanical device for single line attachment just went gold due to the fact that social marketing and human beings that challenge social media and social marketing upon their own quests are called trendsetters.. My mechanical device is just another device but it comes from a human being that will support the 750 page thesis on using bigger muscle groups of the body lowering the statistic ratio of shoulder injuries in the tree climbing industry the care and maintenance of trees is one thing but when people are misdirected for centuries that's another thing.. I'm the wildest one in this industry and I am also a mechanical genius when it comes to Wood or metal my mechanical device is going to allow human beings to finally have a self rescue system not only just for tree work but everything that has anything to do with men and women working at height. good vid joe. I have the zz but need to get the chicane to srt. how you liking that husky helmet. I have the kask and it likes to ride forward and slide on my nose a lot, so I'm looking for another that might fit better. be safe brother. shalom.
The Chicane moderates the descent and is a handy hand grab when ascending. Personally I hold my right hand above the Chicane and push it up after each step of the foot/knee ascender. The Chicane is used only in SRT (stationary rope climbing) where only one end of the rope attaches to the saddle verses DDRT (double rope climbing).....not really 2 ropes but one rope which constantly moves because both ends of the rope are attached to your saddle after being thrown over a branch. ......coming from a newbie myself- I bought them both last year.
@@1cleandude You don't need the fancy stuff to climb trees. I bought them because I'm 57 years old and want to make it as easy as possible where I can. If I find the right ground guy around here in Michigan who wants to climb, I may just buy all their climbing gear for them.
Nice job on the flop I love how the chicane goes on an off easy I'm like you I rope walk for acces and srt for trims and mostly drt for removals I also like the all in one knee acendor it sucks putting on a chest harness all the time ide like a chicane for hitch cord to that be cool the rope wrench sucks to take off the rope when I'm finished up with rope walking im super new to the zigzag I just got one an boy its touchy it kinda freaked me out a little but ille keep messing with it till I get used to it stay safe homie
@@joebisping6799 Try placing your fingers around the zigzag so the whole column of links doesn't collapse all at once and drop you too fast and just press the top link down. The other hand should be on the rope to be safer.

Great. You test the ZIGZAG from Europe in the USA and I test the Akimbo from the USA next week in Germany. that's how it has to be.
