- Traffic snarl ups especially in Kenya's capital city of Nairobi have been there for years as the following story would seek to confirm. And some thirty five years ago a middle aged man was greatly inconvenienced when he found himself caught up in a traffic jam lasting up to six hours. That day Abdul Wahid, now 63 years old, decided to offer himself as part of the solution to traffic jams. "traffic" as Wahid is popularly known has been directing motorists since then in Eastleigh with his trademark whip and stick. Sally Mbilu spent a day with him, to find out, just why he does it and with so much zeal.
