    Not a bad build, not bad at all! 👍... I agree with you about building a drawer system for the back. It would definitely help keep your gear more secure & organized. Great job!!

    That's a very cool, functional build.

      I think my back area is too deep so if I did a drop down tailgate it would've been too difficult to reach the very back items. Definitely would work great with a drawer system though!

      @@javileeYT You're right, it would be too far of a reach. A drop down table mounted to that door makes way more sense. Thanks for sharing and replying, every bit helps me plan my build.

    Nice budget build, I like it! The only thing I would have to do differently is an over under swap on the axle for more clearance out in my area of Overlanding. I have some items I removed from an old cab-over camper I plan to use to save me some money on a build but first I need to get my tow pig in order which I just purchased 2 weeks ago!

      @@javileeYT that is the yes. the trailer is brand new with a fully enclosed canopy with ladder racks on it so some of the work is already done lol except the RTT I want to get needs an additional 2 racks to secure it properly which isn’t an issue. It’s the 12v system install that is doing my head in 🤣

    Hi there. Nice trailer you built. Can you share the link of the website for the springs/shock combo you purchased? Thanks

    • @javileeYT
      @javileeYT  Год назад

      The shocks are Monroe 555002 from Amazon - a.co/iQydlFJ
      Leaf springs are from www.stengelbros.com/trailer-suspension-parts/trailer-leaf-springs/ and are US -1030 28" 740LB springs.
      A pretty cheap suspension setup that works pretty well for what I ask of it!

      @javileeYT  Год назад +1

      This one started as the 40"x48" that I chopped up and reused the metal to create the 4'x6' frame. I should've looked for a 4x8 folding model initially as it would've been easier/cheaper.

    Hi, very nice build. Can you give more details on how you did the edge where the weather strip is laying ?
    Also what size square tubing you used for the build and how thick ?
    Thank you for the great content.

    • @javileeYT
      @javileeYT  Год назад

      Sure i'll do my best! So square tubing for the bottom of the frame is 1/8" thick 2x2 tubing. The walls are 1/16" thick 1½x1½ tubing to reduce weight and I didn't find any issues with structural issues. How i did the weather stripping edge was taking some 1/2" angle iron and just welding it in place to be flush with the inside edge of the square tubing. Here is a decent image during the build process to show it. imgur.com/atSiiUv

    • @patrickdoyle6519
      @patrickdoyle6519 Год назад

      So you welded the angle iron inside the box, then fit the door to those dimensions? And what just glued on some weather stripping to the door? Or is that it, just the angle iron?

    • @javileeYT
      @javileeYT  Год назад

      I think first off is a plan of what you need/want, general size/shape etc. After that it's a lotttt of research on RUclips, forums, blogs to get other ideas on what you want to do. Determine if you can/want to build it yourself and understand it takes a lot of patience and time since it's the first time.

    why don't ypu see many side awnings on your trailers in America, here in Australia every trailer has a side or even a 180 awning to protect us from the weather, does it not rain in America?

    • @javileeYT
      @javileeYT  Год назад +1

      It depends where you are in America, where I live it rains quite a bit but I keep the awning on my truck. I was going to add one to the trailer but I haven't gotten around to it.

  • @Patriot3791

    Maybe someone can answer this question. What’s the point of having off-road tires on a trailer anyway?

    • @javileeYT
      @javileeYT  Год назад

      Off-road tires can be good if you're going over harsh terrain since they're more resistant to punctures. If going on uneven slippery trails the extra traction will help with keeping the trailer on the trail. If you get the wheel/tire combo to match your tow vehicle you can also use 1 spare across truck/trailer and also use the trailer wheels as spares for the truck if need be. Both of those are more of absolute 0.1% worst case though. On my new trailer build I'm using off road tires mainly because I found them cheap locally :P
