Why is anyone surprised? This is the woman who was furious and insisted that she would have "deserved" an Oscar for playing the role of Selena. It´s the same woman about whom the "In Living Color" dancers and choreographers told the story that she one day had a complete meltdown and screamed all over the place that she was better than all the other dancers on the show and working harder than all the rest of them, but that she was getting unfair treatment and being held back!
It´s the same woman who dissed Salma Hayek, Cameron Diaz, Winona Ryder, and especially Gwyneth Paltrow, about whom she said she can´t remember a single movie she was in (well, that one is a no brainer... Gwyneth was with Ben Affleck and won an Oscar while they were together, so go figure...!)

The issue JLo is facing is that female vocalists like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilar or Celine Dion (based purely on singing capabilities), they can afford to physically change, get big, get wrinkles BECAUSE they have superior singing talent & their careers don’t depend on a having sexy image. JLo’s career was rooted solely on her looks, dancing & acting. Why in her mid-50s is she banking on singing instead of acting to stay relevant. Paula Abdul had a thin voice as well yet could dance her face off. When she could no longer, she focused more on choreographing for big names & big shows, her true talent for which she is very respected in showbiz.

She did not pay Ashanti. The person most at fault for that is Irv Gotti. He owned the label. Ashanti wrote quite a lot of tracks for which she was never compensated. Most of Jlo’s success in the music business is due to black male record execs and producers who did not bother to pay the women of color for their work and vocals. No one paid Christina Milian for her song writing nor her vocals also utilized by Jlo’s team. Jlo been cosplaying urban princess with backing by black men for decades. 😂

I think I might be missing something bc to me it seems like Jlo liked a tweet making fun of her own singing abilities, not the tweet comparing her and Beyoncé. The tweet said they’re actually hitting the same note, implying that Jlo is struggling to hit a note that Beyoncé hits with ease, based on their facial expressions in the photos. To me Jlo liking that makes it seem like she might actually be somewhat self aware lol
