  • YAMAHA AIR FILTER UPGRADES: Having owned several newer generation Yamaha's the air filters get so dirty so fast. On these 2020 and up bikes the stock cages just don’t have the seal good in my opinion. Finally bought the No-Toil Kit and paired it with the PC Racing shroud filters and what a difference it makes!

    I've been using No-Toil for years, Good stuff! It never hurts to throw in a new filter. I keep several filters so I always have a fresh one to throw in.

    I actually found dust going past the air filter on my 2022 450FX. I was looking at it this winter and I noticed a gap between the airbox boot and the baseplate to the air filter so I suspect dust is getting between those two and the filter can’t stop it. I’m going to try to seal it with some RTV and hoping that stops the leak.

    Did you go with the notoil over the twin air kit because of price? I wonder if there is a cheaper more readily available pre-filter foam available somewhere. Kinda salty for two pieces of foam. Anyhow, thanks for the vid!

    It looks like those pre-filters have an unintended consequence, that is essentially blocking up airflow, forcing the engine to suck air through the back where that shroud has no restriction by the looks of your air filter... so you would either need to block off that shroud, or put some sort of pre-filter over it as well... but blocking off that shroud is likely going to also cause a sort of vacuum situation.

      Nah, I don’t oil them and they’re really porous.

    Hey did you try other Filters too like from DT-1 or Twin Air Powerflow Kit thinking about buying the kit but i cant find spare filters in europe so id maybe try DT-1 or twin air if they fit in the kit.

      I have the No-Toil power flow kit, same as the twin air but half the price!

    Did you have issue with the cover making contact with the filter and allowing water to enter? Seen reviews where fitment issues on the Yamahas caused some seal problems. Thanks.

      No sir, I had no issues. This system fits like a glove and is way better than stock IMO.

    Oh ya..as easy as notoil makes it I'd def clean that filter.

    Are you still using the pre filters?

    • @Captain250FX

      I have them but don’t use them that much. They’re good for keeping out big debris but dust gets through pretty easily so I just stopped using them.

      @@Captain250FX I just picked up a pair. I will test them out and see if my stock air filter stays any cleaner. How often are you changing/cleaning your filter? I’m doing mine like every 3 rides.

    • @Captain250FX
      @Captain250FX  Год назад +1

      @@fattie2550 that really depends on conditions? Sometimes I have to change after every race or trail ride, just depends. I have 4 filters ready at all times so if it’s a little dirty I just change it.
