I’m wondering if a twin air powerflow kit (screenless) and a tweak on the power tuner app could get it in the same ball park without modding and buying a vortex

The blind test rider said barely and just maybe Good result but you need to be searching for actual power if you want to compete - thats what yamaha knew shifting some power up
Shawn is a fast rider who's style is to "clutch it" and stay high in the RPM's. There isn't much difference at the top rpms with those mods, so the power benefits are mostly/only noticed on the bottom end, when the clutch isn't being used. It was a massive difference.
It better be for the cost...my point stands. If you want to win races you will want more peak power. The yamaha has a perception of being fast via the star program but the production bike leaves a lot to be desired in the power department. It has had the best "delivery" of middle of the road actual power. @@Quadz10
Yamaha needs to add a secondary throttle plate so they can achieve higher velocities at low rpm and still get that over-rev at the top of the RPM range.
It’s weird other magazines said it still had great bottom end and when they put the map to aggressive they said it was exciting! But again no 2 bikes are exactly the same.
8:05 Wait. Did you say "cancel because of the rain?" Wow have times changed. Do they cancel your races out west because of rain, too? Over here in New England we'd get laughed at for even suggesting such a thing. You west coast boys need to double check your BVD's to make sure you still have a pair before you get on those bikes. 🤣

It is all about money, it is impossible that the YZ is the best bike on the market, air filter problems, low HP and the frame isn’t the same as old good days, that air box looks terrible and makes the bike looks ugly, and mostly importante the Yamaha engines are not reliable they will blow up, but you know behind the scenes there is always someone paying to be promoted.

The issue is the 250F uses the same size air boot as the 450 which means it’s taking in too much air. The TD boot is narrower down low.

The one "small" change the title said isn't small or one... completely new airbox and a different ignition isn't a small mod...
Yes for the low price of $1400 too! 😂
“New airbox” would have to be an airbox from either a 450 or from a previous model?

If you listen to Keefer he said that Jamie used a 23’ airbox
450 airbox 23/24^

Did he put the dual injectors on it as well? If TD threw that on as well I bet that bike would rip so hard
Is the offset of the luxon clamps stock 22mm?
The 4 stroke shouldn’t be rode all the way up top. It’s better low mid and some top. Better traction in the mid area.
Now how would someone go about changing the airbox and getting the ECU tuned like you guys did? Is their a site I can go to??
