Yes, but only if the CPU is not limitated, i have this poco f4 gt and a realme gt master edition, for e example genshin impact run better on realme because the CPU can go at maximum performance but in the poco CPU go around 1.1 Ghz from around 2.5 and even the gpu i discovered is limited by xiaomi at 78% performance maximum. The specs are really nice but becasuse of the strange limitation and the very poor thermal management is like an average phone from the 2021/ 2022
Clearly you don't know enough about Poco phones ASBYT. I don't understand why you were comparing the Poco F4 GT to Poco F3, whereas really you should have been comparing it to the Poco F3 GT which has MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200. Poco F4 is probably due for release later this year, albeit with the 16 month old Snapdragon 870 (equivalent to the Xiaomi Redmi K40S with same specs) which is a major disappointment for lovers of the standard Poco as the chip is already aged. Time will tell.
I bought this phone last week. I'm so happy with this phone except the very fast and strong specs it's so smooth and software experience is so good. A lot of good features on it. It feels like my OnePlus 7 when I bought. So happy I really recommend this.
How is it now? My main concern is the battery, I'm not gonna be playing games on it daily but the performance would be convenient for when I am gaming... How long does it last on the days where you just use the device to browse and watch videos on social media? with little to no gaming
I think you're failing to realize one factor. Gaming phones in general or by your rhetoric "generic gaming phones" don't usually put any real effort into their cameras or features for a standard use of smart phones. The Poco F4 GT(much like it's cousin the Black Shark 4 Pro), have a very good balance between both gaming and standard use. To put it simply, it has features and specs that support both standard use(i.e camera & customizations) as well as gaming(high end performance & top tier temperature/battery management).
That said, I liked your review and think it was on point except for the minor detail that you're constantly tagging the phone as either a standard flag ship phone or a high end gaming phone when in reality, it's a hybrid version of both.
My thoughts on the phone are very obvious haha. I really love it because it's just remarkably excellent as a gaming phone while also being good as a standard use phone. In fact, it even topples many of it's competitors and as shown in your review as well as others, it even outperforms giant of the S22 Ultra in many aspects. All of this for a phenomenally lower price.
The Poco F4 GT is an amazing phone overall.
I have one coming from Ali poco store, got the 256/12gb for £462 on earlybird deal, really looking forward to it. Had the poco x3 before, I love a bargain. So for this I couldn't resist. Great spec at great price. Don't need to spend £1200 on a phone I could get a decent laptop for that.
I currently use a Poco f3 8gb 256 global version. As cool as the Poco F4 gt is... It's not really worth it for me. The only upgrades that pop out to me is the snapdragon 8 gen 1 chip, plus triggers. Benchmark scores mean nothing. Because most phones are programmed to go all out for antutu ext... Meanwhile down throttling while playing graphics intense games. This phone has an antutu score of over 1M. But it will run hot and down throttle. Chipset will overheat. Screen will dim. And you will have a used drop in performance with and without external cooling. The snapdragon 8 gen 1 sucks at overheating and power consumption. From Samsung to Apple to xiaomi... All the top brands perform their best while running benchmark apps. Just to get the best score possible. But those scores don't reflect real life usage. For the price... Around 700 usd. The Poco F4 gt isn't worth it. I paid 325 usd for my Poco f3 and I haven't found a phone with more bang for the buck... Had the F4 gt been more affordable... I'd probably be interested. I'd pay no more than 400 usd for the F4 gt. Paying 700 usd is absurd. Might as well spend a couple hundred more and get the latest Samsung or Apple. The F4 gt could have been a flagship killer. But it has a flagship price tag with outdated cameras and a fire hazard for a chipset. This phone is not worth it. Unless the price drops dramatically.
Definitely for the price what i offers is actually amazing to see where brands are removing chargers in $250 phone now here in India Poco is giving 120w in box itself amazing 😍

When I buy a new phone I’ll have to buy a charger separately which means there will be more packaging, because I rarely change my phone due to that the old charger is either broken or has some kind of problem
Comparing the specs of the F4 GT against the Xiaomi 12 Pro, I am assuming that camera hardware is one of the most expensive components in a smart phone. The F4 GT is considerably cheaper than the 12 Pro yet spec for spec, it's only the camera tech that seems to be different.

3. Wireless charging, reverse wireless charging
4. Surge P1 inhouse chip that enable single cell battery with 120W charging capability (i dont know if it is an innovation that really benefit over the dual cell battery)

It is plus the software optimization of the phone. Also, I would rank MIUI at the bottom and the worst Android UI among others.
The display of the mi 12 series are superior

The expected price for this phone is around £500 in the UK so measuring it up to a £1250 S22U and complaining it has no dedicated zoom is a bit rich! Obviously it will have lower spec than the S22U but also will come with extras like a charger, case, maybe screen protector, and you can but a Tab S8+ with the change! Off the top of my head I cannot think of a new £500 phone that has an optical zoom?
I got the F3 just recently... I didn't think the upgrade was worth the difference. I'll gladly trade trigger buttons for a slightly better camera

It is the same size as the S22U, which never gets 5000mAh according to tests (part of batteryt used as buffer).

There are 3 versions in china.
Redmi K50/ K50 pro (Media Tek CPU) and K50 gaming edition.
I think sadly Xiaomi chose the said gaming edition as global version and named it Poco F4 GT. Thats the only choice for now in Europe.

I'd take a high performing phone without any camera. So a less than flagship camera isn't any kind of turn of for me
the reason you feel the F4 GT a gaming phone... its because the GT line up is the gaming phone line up in the poco series.... if you are looking for the F3 successor, there is only the F4 and its only upgrade is the camera features and the price is almost the same as the F3.... the black shark is the pure high end gaming series... and the F4 GT is for gamers that wants the top performance and also for those who bought the old F1 and wanted a flagship killer at half the price of a flagship phone...

@@andyH_England depends, if you only play games and just want the SD 8gen1, perhaps it's a better choice for you. You go and ask around whether the 800 extra worth it.
@@dinfinity85 Yes, it is an option, many that buy the S22U take the s-pen and/or cameras seriously so the Poco is not aimed at them. But the F4 seems a value and solid mid-ranger that does most of the stuff the average user needs well.
I absultely like the design ❣️ unique and powerful chipset. Gamingphone but not over exaggerated look.half half elegant and also a side of gaming. Imagine at the price of 500 $ it has combo of (snapdragon 8 gen1,amoled,crning G victus,unique triggers,and rare 120W charger. For its price it worth it compare to those flagship that has double the price' but less difference it comes on performance.

I only use the camera to take photos of the dogs on the beach so don't care about that.

It would be great if Poci will release POCO F4 without GT and slap and SD 888 in it.
Dimensity 8100 is better than SD 888 and their performance is on par but with better battery and thermal efficiency.

I own both. S22 with more software and hardware features is way more optimized than f4 gt -though battery life and charging goes to f4 gt --like super. camera quality is miles apart. Even my old iphone xs is better than f4 gt.
