If you haven't crocheted with a hook before this is may seem confusing but it's really not. I have crocheted for years so this is pretty easy and much faster and much prettier. Thank you!

hi Maggie, I wish you would of used a different color other than black to teach us how to crochet with our fingers it was very hard to see your work. I couldn't see, everything was all mixed together (I mean the piece you were working on here looks like all 1 piece because of the black) if you understand what I'm trying to say. I watched your last video on how to arm knit and that was great!! perfect tutorial. I do have 1 question, with arm knitting I used the giant bulky triple and double bails of yarn the ratio is 90% acrylic 10% wool. it felt like cotton and pulled apart like cotton. omg it sheds like crazy!! it gets all over everything. How or is there a way that I can stop this shedding or at least tone the shedding down a bit. thank you jen

Poppy L I do agree. I was about to make a suggestion for Maggie to use bright color of yarns in future too, dark color is very hard to see.

HI Maggie - i JUST LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! - I've knitted and crocheted for the last 62 years and never heard of 'arm' knitting or crocheting - If my mom were still alive today, she would flip over this - I was taught k & c by her when I was 5 years old - Please don't take this as a criticism, but I had to turn my 'bright' up a lot higher when you work with a dark color so I could see the stitches - I don't know if anybody else had that issue but all was fine after I did that - You're great at doing these tutorials - Just the right speed and you know when to speed things up - Bless you, darlin' - I subscribed & 'liked' & going to bring all my girlfriends over to see your videos - Thanks so much for all the time you put into doing this just for us - Cute doggies, too - monica >^..^

This is honestly one of the best ideas I’ve seen! She did such an amazing tutorial and did a great job of being nice and slow. She also did such a great job explaining. I’m going to try using 15 balls of rover yarn that’s like one inch think. Let me know if you think that’s enough for an adult size blanket?...

I have chronic pain in my hands and shoulder blades. I'm pretty sure I got it from crocheting too much and not using better posture. I stopped crocheting for quite some time, but no matter what I do the pain doesn't stop. I have started to crochet again though. I really love crocheting, so I try to take breaks and stretch often. My tendons get really tight and sore, so it's necessary. I also wear compression gloves often and I use plastic hooks. I prefer them over the metal. The plastic for me are way easier to use.

I listen to your videos but Lost my vision around five years ago and find it very difficult to try to follow you sometimes. This however you did teach me to Armitt and greatly enjoyed that just have problems finding yarn especially online. Any pointers you can give me for learning to crochet without being able to see your videos would be greatly appreciated! Thanks advance

I typically don't comment, but... I'm gonna disagree with most everybody. The black allowed the work to stand alone without the distraction of following this color or that, especially against the whi6e backdrop. The way you separated the stitches, making them look kinda like a "Zorro Mask" allowed me to (FINALLY) get a clear picture of where I need to pull the yarn through for the double loop thingy. If you couldn't tell I'm a complete novice at this blanket making business! Lol. Thanks for the tutorial, I look forward to watching more.

Started this with a size 5 yarn today. Having some trouble with finding all my loops when I get near the end. 2 hours and I have about 5 rows, I think. Looks great so far though! One hour has to be for experts! It is getting easier to find loops as I do more rows. Hoping to have a lap blanket done for Christmas.

If you make a chain of 30, you should actually have 29 stitches in your work after row one. You've 'lost' the first chain as your step up to the next row.

Hi, maybe you have found your answer already but I want to answer people with the same question. So, when you run out of a skein simply attach your new yarn by tyeing it into a knot with the old yarn you have just ran out of. Hope this helps others.

This took 12 and she made a foot at the beginning using just under the first three. I would say 15 to be safe.
You can always add a border of a different color to increase the size if it ends up a bit small.

Hi! I saw that you said you make a triple knot and shape it to start the next skeins, but I have no clue what that means! Could you elaborate a bit?

Rachele R I think by triple knot she just meant she took all the ends and tied them together 3 times to add new skeins

My phone for some reason won't connect to your blog. How many things of yarn did you use and how many links long was it?

unfortunately my website network is under maintenance at the moment😞 I'm not sure when it will be back up. I haven't finished the blanket quite yet, but I plan on having the measurements and yardage of yarn on my website tomorrow! So far I'm on row 21 and have used 6 skeins.
