Amazing. Shows just how complex, yet beautiful Metallica songs are. Congrats. Looking forward to more in the future. Perhaps "One" would be a great song to perform.

I simplified the 6:12 and 6:18 shuffles into straight arpeggios to make this solo doable at my skill level id just play the G-E-B back and forth for the 1st part then for the 3rd section playing B-G-E. My hands are BARELY big enough to do the 4th arpeggio haha
@@YannickStreibert thank you :) yes, I mean I can already play the beginning... so it's not too hard. I also know how to play the beginning of Unforgiven 3
That's how I have to do it on hard pieces like this. It's weird. My brain can't play them both. Then after practicing, it's like magic, one day I just can. It's surreal. Like if I practice hard one day it doesn't usually coalesce, but I take a break and the next day, poof!
Thanks for your feedback! :) Interesting point. Maybe I made a mistake, but when I write new cover, I always work with the original sheet music - in this case Metallicas offical certified sheet music of Fade to Black. But I will check it out again.
Hi Remi! Thanks for your feedback but I am a bit confused. Can you help and tell me which chords you were expecting? I followed the original score here 🤔
I know I'm late, put that could be because in the original, they play power chords which are neither major nor minor. So on the piano playing the chord progression with the major and minor chords might sound odd compared to what you'd expect based on the original version (especially major chords since most metal, if not all, is in minor key)
Awesome song I love it and starting to practice it. But there are some notes that make me scratch my head like hitting a chord that are 15 keys apart with the left hand. Is it because the color might be off and you're supposed to use two hands?
Hi Austin. Simple, but maybe not satisfying: you have to jump. The cover is quite advanced in some parts. Maybe check my performance to see what I mean. But maybe I made a mistake in this video here, can you tell me a moment that you are refering to? With a time?
@@YannickStreibert wow thanks for responding so quick. So the part I was talking about is between 1:28 and 1:29, its 5 blue keys with the double A, the E, and then A and B. Sorry not too familiar with the nomenclature lol but I assume you just use the right hand for the E A and B keys. I only started learning about a year ago or so, but I am obsessed with your work. I have jammed your cover of master of puppets so many times in my car. thanks so much and keep on rocking!
Oh damn, great catch! You are absolutely right, the chord at 1:28 is of course played with 2 hands! The octave 2 notes for the left, the 3 remaining notes with the right. Within the sheet music, I included that part for better understanding and design, hard to explain here. But when producing the midi file, I did not seperate that, so the colors did not adapt. You're the first to point it out, thanks so much! But of course, that does not make it less playable :) So I hope you still enjoy it. Thanks for your nice words!
Hi Tony. As stupid as it sounds: practicing is the key. This arrangement is not for beginners and quite advanced with different challenges for both hands. You won't think about that question after a couple of years of training, trust me. There is always a certain opened position your hand is in while playing the piano. I still ask myself the same about playing guitar. Same situation and also quite unimaginable for me. But this arrangement is playable. If you're interested, check my own performance. It is on this channel 👍
Yannick Streibert That makes sense ya, I know what you mean about how it sounds. I don’t have a teacher, so I rely on these kinds of tutorials to try and learn, to which I’ve heard a lot of people say you can’t learn from these like you can reading sheet music. Nevertheless, I plan to keep practicing. So my next question which might sound stupid as well.. How do you start incorporating your non dominant hand, I try and I try but I’ll find myself playing a left hand intro and it’s going well and then as soon as the right hand starts my left seems to just stop. Should I just play the left hand only until it becomes routine and then start incorporating my right back in? Or are there better methods? Thank you for taking the time to answer these
Don't worry, just ask. I have to know how far you are and what you say sounds like you're quite at the beginning, right? If so: as much as I love to hear people playing my arrangements, I guess this one is way too hard for the beginning. usually, when you start playing the piano, you practice tiny melodies for each hand individually first, then maybe add a chord in the left hand, etc. But here you're already playing two meldodies at the same time, this will be hard for you. Try with something easier and come back ones you feel the safety in both hands. Another advice: start learning sheet music. I promise it is absolutely not difficult. Actually, learning letters was more difficult in your life! Learning sheet music also makes you more independend from these kind of tutorials :) If you want to continue this cover, keep on practicing until you can play it completely safe and without problems (mistakes happen here and there of course, no worries about these). There are super easy tutorials online to learn reading sheet music.
Can you tell me where you have that stretch? I can tell you this is 100% possible, there is a performance on my channel :) maybe the midi file got messed up
@@YannickStreibert around 1:45 You have a difficult one, then immediately an impossible one: E4 to G2 (very hard, but not impossible for those with bigger hands) Then it changes to C4 to A2 which is infact greater than 2 octaves. Checking it again though, it's showing 6 fingers so I am guessing this is actually meant to be both hands which would make more sense lol!
I cut it off intentionally. I does not resolve in any way and the fading out comes quickly, so I decided to include my own ending and finish the solo earlier. Although I have never been completely happy with the solution. Sorry if you missed it
@@YannickStreibert aha. Are u getting the notes trough transcribing app or by ear? Also, I found something that Im pretty confused about, the solo at 6:23 at other ppls covers they play C# A F# and here its C# A E. Who's right?
Original sheet music. I buy the score and work with that. Haven't got it here right now, though. So I cannot 100% answer that in this moment, but my way would resolve from the a major chord to b minor which would make a lot of sense. F# seems weird to me. Go for whatever you like more I guess, a matter of prefference

Lyrics:
Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further, every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly loss, this can't be real
I cannot stand this hell I feel
Emptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness, taking dawn
I was me, but now he's gone
No one but me
Can save myself
But it's too late
Now I can't think
Think why I should even try
Yesterday seems as though
It never existed
Death greets me warm
Now I will just say goodbye
Bye...
