Rainbow Mist is my fave Filler arc.
I KNOW... its filler I get it.
But the important difference is that this is One Piece; not any other show. Its Oda the Troll not any other author. Which in turn means I choose to keep the idea that Oda lies about his involvement with filler so he can sneak in foreshadow or test plot point ideas. I cannot be convinced otherwise.
That belief puts this arc and the filler arc where the crew have forgot each other as my fave 2.
They felt more important to the Crew dev then a couple of the cannon arcs have.
Yeah, Oda made a lot of filler characters & ideas, so you never know what was or wasn't his doing, and that's just one of the reasons why you shouldn't view One Piece filler as mere filler. He even worked on games.
Unrelated to one piece, but I feel I have to partially blame you for the fact that I got the urge to replay the Trails series (one of my favorite game series) starting from Sky because of how often you mention the series, so thank you lol. Fantastic video as usual, thoroughly enjoying following your journey through One Piece.
I'll happily take on that, 'blame' xD I'm gonna start Into Reverie soon, I just wanted to space out the games to make them last, luckily up to now they've lasted me a full year : )
welcome to the sky island arc, an arc which makes more and more sense and has more value with info from future arcs. But its still good even on the 1st watch through.

Ooooo I really hope movie 6 gets voted in, it's my fave OP movie because it's such a weird story and the wonky artstyle is SO good imo
hio i have absolutly NO doubt the movi 6 and G8 will be choosen, both are "must watch" woud say manny (if not all) One Piece fans
G-8 is an amazing filler arc don't skip it
Things i like to mention but never seem to be truly address in the anime ... you only get access to it through manga Q&A parts. Like bathroom break^^... Nami always draw map at night, Zoro train through the night and also do night watch therefore is almost always tire and sleepy during day.... ... Usopp fiddle around with gadget, Sanji trying out new recipe from strange food Luffy catch.... Chopper doing medical research.. that sort of things

Starting off with one of if not my fave single episode filler.
It handles the emotional side of the story so well that I get hyped watching it awaiting the firework you know is coming.
As well as it continues the general trend of One Piece that kids do not need to be useless all the time. So many shows use kids as token characters.

Filler arcs in One Piece are so good because they aren't too long and are done during the down time between major arcs, give us all time to breathe before the plot picks back up. Of course this also allows the manga to stay ahead so they don't stop it for a while. One Piece has barely stopped for 25 years, maybe a month at most of a break, which is legendary.
Right up until the water 7 saga, where one of the best moments in the entire series is followed by SEVEN EPISODES OF RECAPS

I was just saying...the placement of that filler arc got me SO MAD, and the pacing of the anime goes to absolute trash after that saga too
Ah, the rainbow mist arc. This is probably my second favorite filler of this series, and I look forward to seeing your thoughts on it.
Since you talked about liking the music, there's a channel called One Piece Soundtracks that's compiling all the music from each episode. It's great to find a piece you like and they're up to episode 160 by now.

This close up of the Grave stone... weird how the iconography (or is it symbology) of it matches the WG flag... a cross with 4 circles along side the birds being white like seagulls... strangely enough its doves squaring off...

I’m so grateful the filler isn’t just fan service or something like that (ahem konasuba) but actually fleshed out stories. I really appreciate the people who worked on this since their work was probably not seen by as many people due to it being filler

I love episode 155 because Zoro is not that much focused on background wise.
To me the only telling thing that it's a filler is because Zoro doesn't have his other two swords (the ones which broke during his duel with Mihawk), which we know he had since childhood (They are the ones he used in his last duel with Kuina in the flashback of episode 19)
Also, episode 159 is clearly filler, since Nami wouldn't put her clothes over Sanji when it's clear his health and perhaps life is at stake.
(Unfortunately, this isn't the only filler which fail to characterise Nami correctly. She's often misunderstood by fans too 😔)

Somewhere between Warship Islands arc story for dragons and Rainbow Mists arc story of Apes concert is where my personal thoughts on One Piece location and what it is...
A location that has extremely specific factors that unless perfect prevent success.
Imagine going to Long 34 and Lat 36 on One Piece world but only at Tuesday the 13th of the 12th month and on a year divible by 39 based off some ancient out of use calendar. Thats to find One Piece; and then the One Piece itself is a collective of ancient knowledge that if in the right hands brings ever lasting peace and prosperity.
Thats the scale I am thinking of in terms of location and content of the One Piece.

While I think it is good to comment on hand drawn I think we do weirdly downplay the difficulty of computer animation. Let alone the unknowns that may be involved when working for a studio. Such as propriatary software and the difficulties involved. Its not like they are using an app with preloads that they throw in.

How did people leave out goat Island but leave in rainbow mist?? Goat Island was at least funny but Rainbow Mist was the most aggravated and disappointed I’ve been in the entirety of One Piece so far. I was genuinely mad at how stupid the ending of the arc was. Don’t necessarily mind seeing it here…but why??
Edit: Dang, reading the comments it seems I’m in the minority. I’m surprised, since I enjoyed nearly every filler arc so far EXCEPT Rainbow Mist, but I guess to each their own
