You seem to get it... no wonder you actually bothered watching it.
One Piece filler is mostly filler in name only for me. there's some like chopper-man that are clearly not the same world; but even then...
some is just funny or fun and even if the main plot can't advance in filler; the characters can be further explored.
I like Robin because of the filler... because if you jump past the filler you just get a robot of personality as she is slowly warming up. The filler shows us her human side. It gave me the time I needed to like her.
Does not matter how good someone looks if the personality is trash then I won't try to like them; its not worth the effort.
Robins near the bottom of my list for Mugiwara members but that is due to her quiet nature.
bon chan and vivi will forever be honorary straw hats to me
Zoro is basically Chopper's older brother.
Jango and Fullbody became friends though dancing in a manga cover story.
By the way, Jango and Fullbody becoming friends/Jango joining the navy is something that is explained on the manga's cover stories- single panels on the front covers of most manga chapters that tell a story happening elsewhere, chapter by chapter. Someone may have already told you this, but the episodes centered around Buggy and then the episodes centered around Koby and Helmeppo were cover stories, but the anime sadly stopped adapting them after that. It's a shame because a lot of them end up coming back into the main story somehow.
Fun fact about Robin is she's the only crew member to directly ask to join... All the others and the ones to join later were asked by Luffy to join... She's also the second to wear Luffy's hat; Nami being the first after he received it from Shanks...
She's my favorite female character in One Piece
She's my favourite crewmate, esp after THAT moment in 3 sagas from now.

Also the goodbye scene reminds me of fairy tail which despite its flaws is one of my favourite anime and I love its message a little found family. The guild mark and the x just hit different for me.
Somewhat surprised you're wiling to accept pell surviving. A lot of people get annoyed/surprised/pissed that Pell survived after that truly beautiful send off. Shows that you always look to the bright side of some of the stuff lol

Oh absolutely, I like Pell, he deserves to live, I can wrap my head around him figuring a way out of it to survive and that's good enough for me. Like you said always looking on the good side of things for sure.
I blame it on him being a Zoan user, who have been stated in the story (I don't remember which chapter sadly), that they are really tough and can recover from a lot of damage.

It was a beautiful arc to end with, Bon Clay went out like a champ, Robin is in and there's always the hope to meet past friends again. The manga does have an advantage with some reveals given how they can tell through cover story, Jango and Fullbody's friendship and the former's joining of the marines is detailed in one, as well as what became of the remaining Baroque Works agents, since Mr. 5, Miss Valentine and Miss Goldenweek weren't ever captured by marines.
In terms of Pell, it did lead to a long criticism that 'Oda doesn't kill characters', and it diminished his sacrifice. Though the joke does get played out Pell's death could be forgiven since 9/11 was still fresh in the memory when he was allegedly killed off.
But that's another saga done, in East Blue it was Luffy stamping his name in the world, Alabasta was him proving he belongs by taking out a warlord as esteemed as Crocodile, if we go further, you'll learn that in One Piece, the sky is not the limit.
Vivi is the only ever mention of being Queen of the Pirates, as even Big Mom says she wants to become King of the Pirates.

Fun Fact! the song that plays when Jango and Fullbody first appear is from a small OVA that's basically a glorified music video where Jango, on the run from marines, sends an entire dance-crazy island into a synchronized dance with his hypnosis powers, even the straw hats end up as a part of it lmao

The ending of Alabasta will ALWAYS be amazing. It makes me tear up no matter how many times I watch it. One can only hope that Vivi can come back to sail with us once again.
Fun fact: the OST that played during the Jango and full body scene originated from the One piece mini movie “Jango’s dance Carnival”. And this was another wonderful episode. You definitely deserve all kudos for this wonderful reaction series.
The Vivi and Karoo goodbye moment is and will stay an iconic scene for me in the series, I was looking forward to this episode since you started the Alabasta saga!
During an interview recently Oda was asked if Nami was still drawing her world map and he said that Nami is drawing her world map off screen at night or whenever she has free time so episode 132 is basically a look into that work on the map which is confirmed by Oda himself! These fillers episodes are amazing! Marine Base G-8 Navarone is the best One Piece filler though in fact I think it is the best filler arc in all of Anime but more on that when we get there in 4 months or so LOL
i have a theory that if oda had gone through with killing pell, koza would have taken over his position as the inheritor of his Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Falcon to protect vivi, honestly considering how close the two were as master and student it would have been poetic
Fun fact: even tho they technically are not members of the crew anymore Luffy still considers Vivi and Karoo members of the Straw Hats
I personally think just taking sponsorships wouldnt really bother anyone. Its just common practive in this buisness and if it helps you I believe you could do it
Given how much people complain about them in every video I watch on other channels I'd disagree with that lol. I'm more than happy to not do any whilst my Patreon is so healthy. Hell one day if the Patreon grows enough I would happily reduce ads on the videos by 95% too.

The motif that plays in Nami scenes is her character song Music. It’s a beautiful song.
So the Jango and Fullbody moment is the result of a cover story the anime didn't adapt, during which Jango goes to Mirror Ball island and get into a dance competition against Fullbody. Afterwards the two become friends but because Jango is a pirate he is arrested. Fullbody helps acquit Jango though and in the end Jango joins the Marines

The poneglyph only said where pluton was hidden. Getting to it would be a whole other deal...and crocodile is nowhere near ready for that battle.
Still, a man as cruel and dangerous as Crocodile ain’t exactly someone you want knowing the location of a superweapon.

Bon chan is a great guy. Vivi was certainly a great accidental/last minute add in as a princess who really held her own in the long run. I’m with you about being excited about Nico Robin! She’s such an interesting character. She’s also a decade older than the other straw hats. I cannot wait to see how you handle all of her backstory.
Chopper and Robin always made for such a sweet duo when they hang out together.
Also, congrats, you got me sobbing on my bus ride home from work. Vivi's farewell always gets me

im sure it's been mentioned but ill throw it out myself too, for manga readers Jango becoming a marine was known as Oda does cover page series exploring things happening beyond the strawhats and a surprising amount are relevant, or at least noticible in the back ground like Jango and Fullbody here where Oda outlines exactly how and why those two are working with Hina specifically too
I’m caught up to all op. And to this day one of my fav moments in all of op is the hands up scene. Never fails to get me tearing up

FYI the reason Jango and Fullbody are together is that Jango got away at Syrup village and ran into Fullbody who was demoted from captain. They became fast friends and Jango was convinced to join the marines.

nico is her family name, just like despite all media having luffy's last name coming first it's his family name, i say family because it never feels right for characters' names to be said in a Western way which is why even in the dub it's said the same way: monkey d luffy, nico robin and many more characters in the future
That SEGA-sounding music was 'Believe' by a band called Folder 5; a song heavily linked to the OP fandom, due to it being used in 'Jangos Dance Carnival' ( ruclips.net/video/XiDgoHOTvmM/видео.html&pp=ygUYb25lIHBpZWNlIGRhbmNlIGNhcm5pdmFs ). Not 100% certain due to memory fog of time but I am mostly certain it played as a short in theaters, before one of the movies.
So the story of Jango and Fullbody's friendship is actually told as a cover story in the manga
I'll be waiting for the next character Bon Clay's VA will be playing... I'm interested to see if you'll notice him

Once again the anime staff make filler that feels like the real deal. To have it sprinkled in every so often in periods of downtime makes sense because that is when most writers would just skip to the next big plot point. No high stakes yet we still get great character moments

I think most people ended up hating him because of his "fake out death". Such a shame for such a good character (Personally, I don't rejoice with nice people dying even if they are fictional, but to each their own, I guess...)
