    Good timing on this video. I recently decided that a very near future purchase for me will be one of these Helvetias, to go along with a 20 France rooster. They're lovely coins.

    Love the history lessons with your videos! I feel the same about holding the coins. I keep a little junks silver and some silver dollars out to handle. My vote is the prospector bars.

    The Swiss Helvetia is one of the best fractional gold coins out there. I had an original from 1927 but I sold it and regretted it ever since.

    Very nice coin. I have a lot of Swiss silver coins. I enjoy holding them because I have always seen the Swiss Franc as the true world reserve currency. It was the last currency to go fiat in 2000. Which is quite recent compared to the rest of the world.

    Have been stacking silver for a while, not in huge quantities but still getting some every now and then. Probably start to get these too, maybe from now on something like 60/40 gold to silver ratio every time I buy something. I really like how the premium is not over the top, even better than some 1/4 oz coins and much better than 1/10 oz. Also it's very reputable coin and looks great, looks like real money (well... because it is)

    Beautiful coin. Americans have the opportunity to buy them from major dealers like APMEX on eBay with eBay bucks rebates, net under spot. I've been picking up francs recently.

    Years late haha, here they are spot + 10% , but other coins that are fractions of ounces aren't really better, seems like around here the big coins currently are spot + 5%, like the Maple leaf and Krugerrand / Philharmonika. But I think I will still get one of these, I like the looks and seems like a nice start for a first gold coin.

    I just don't like slabs.
    I don't understand why anyone would pay to have a coin seemingly arbitrarily graded by so called experts.
    Even Numi who's videos I follow purely for the variety of coins that pass through his hands, often struggles to stick up for them, often claiming it's a lottery, their inability to recognise different varieties of coins and regular "technical" errors. You have proven they don't add value, and as for added security, I would think if someone can fake a coin, a crappy plastic box is going to be even easier to pass off.
    Keep up the great videos and send Numi my love.

    • @BackyardBullion
      @BackyardBullion  6 лет назад

      I agree - certain coins is better to have graded. This one is not one of those coins.

    I really like the prospector bars. They get my vote.
    Can I ask what your thoughts are on gold after the accessible gold runs dry from the mines? I've been doing research in to how much is left and from what I've found, a lot of people are guessing 2030-2035. Obviously there will be recycled gold from that point but very little 'fresh' gold.
    Any thoughts?

    • @BackyardBullion
      @BackyardBullion  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the vote! I am not knowledgeable enough to comment on whether gold will run out.

    • @cumbriancrucible5833

      Backyard Bullion worth a try.
      That's the time frame most people are saying. Between phys.org and the USGS and the financial times, 2035 is the latest it's going to be mined world wide. It could be an interesting time to be holding gold.

    nice coin, do you know the former type of the "Vreneli" ? Thats the real Helevetia. Minted from 1883-1896. They have low mintages and can be picked up close to spot someties. They also look really cool. You can See one at the end of my video called " How many KMU 6,45g coins do I have???"

    Yes fractional gold costs more, but they sure are easier to sell!!!! I have bought very little gold(out of my budget), I mostly stay with silver. Voting for the MONKEY!!!!! How can you go against a SILVER MONKEY!!!! Lastly, I sent you an email about the silver dice you have for sell. Do you have any videos about those??? If not, I would love to see you make the dice, like when you did the globes. Keep doing what you do!!!

      Backyard Bullion
      In order to get rid of all the gold Swiss had bought from the Nazis, the National Bank had 20 million coins minted after the war: 20-franc pieces with the suspicious imprint "1935 L". English scientists have now found extremely high levels of mercury in two coins - the “Vrenelis”, which are still valid today, may contain tooth gold from the murdered.
      It is from an Article in a German Newspaper. It really shocked me...
