i love this. i went through phases of deleting my instagram app but i never removed my profile. i deactivated a couple weeks ago and i feel this overwhelming sense of calm. there’s something so magically empowering about leaving mystery to your life and your whereabouts, physical appearance, etc. people have to work harder to reach you and can’t just access you at the drop of a hat. connections become deeper and more meaningful. and from a spiritual perspective i find so much more peace in my life knowing that there aren’t any hateful or harmful eyes monitoring my page and posts..
I permanently deleted mine and my Facebook and am never going back 😂 am so happy and calm 😢 omg I don't have to ever live my life for people and be anxious about my pictures no no no no no
Fellow female intj here and it seems we’re all going through the same thing when it comes to privacy and just wanting to get rid of social media and live our own simple lives. I say “we all” because I watched the Kelly Stamps video and it came shortly after I uploaded my own video about wanting privacy and being frustrated with social media
i deleted my ig a month ago. I have about 10k followers. It became too personal for me and I needed a new space, new inspiration. It made me sad but I needed to move on.
I’m noticing way more people starting to delete their instagram. As a whole Instagram is mostly garbage these days imo. It was a little better before Facebook took it over imo, but it’s still a huge part of the social media problem. I’m contemplating getting rid of mine as well. We’ll see.
I’m a freshman in college and honestly it’s been exhausting. I’m not used to the social media life, and it was just tiring seeing lives I could only dream of. Had to put me first and deactivate. Now people I never even talked to think I blocked them
I have deleted my instagram too. I was not checking feeds nor peoples posts, I was obsessed with my own contents. recording piano songs every day. I realised that I was absolutely wasting my time. Followers comments or likes mean nothing to me. It is very addictive and toxic. I prefer to stay away from it.
Instagram truly makes me feel like crap at the end of the day. RUclips is the only social media I need. There's so much to listen to and vulnerability to find like this video right here.
I loved this video! I stopped posting on Instagram in November of 2021 & oh how life has shifted for the better. Now I am not focused on what Sally is doing and accomplishing in life, but what I want to accomplish and be in life, also every time I look at my page it feels like a whole different person and version of myself. Thanks for this video cause I might deactivate my account as well 💛
I have never had any social media ever, I can't deal with it...I only have email as if I'm living in 1986😂but seriously this reminds me of when i threw away all of my makeup I used to be ultra glam full face the works every day, i used to be spending thousands of dollars a year, 😮and deep down I wasn't happy ...it was for gratification from others i have learned something since getting older whenever ppl need certain gratifjcation from social media or even your looks it means you are seeking the approval of others i cant do it anymore i need to seek my own approval and i totally understand why you feel this way you are being geniune with yourself🧡
AMEN! felt this way about social media, in general, at age 17. I deleted twitter at 18 and never went back. I deleted IG @ 19 and recreated one @ 21 and officially deleted it @ 23 and I am 26. I have no desire for IG for the same reasons you have named. I thought i was weird or crazy for feeling this way about an "app" but I really see no point in having one. I feel like enjoy people in REAL life. It does have a lot of temptations on there not only for men but for women too. I haven't officially deleted Facebook yet because i use it for marketplace, but once i find another market app, that i like, i will let go of Facebook too. The one thing that is standing is snapchat and RUclips lol. RUclips is like my kryptonite in a sense. RUclips has DIY videos, counseling videos, movies, other content lol this RUclips is a beast that i will slay soon lol.
I didn't delete my account but I deleted all my personal posts in there. It is more like for my art business now. Hard to connect on a deeper level in there.
I actually was going to send you something the other day and was shocked your account was no longer there. And actually good for you I think that's an amazing choice and it truly is such a relief and you kinda feel deep down that you are able to live freely in the moment. As for me I don't use it so often I maybe spend like maximum 5 min a day on it just because it started being so boring for me and like I'm sick of all these people trying hard to fake being cool😂😂 I only watch motivational reels about studying from time to time.
Kelly also said she might switch to a Dumb Phone.. I am also very close to doing that. I hate how these smart phones and apps have made us anti-social.
If you're a creator, keep a page dedicated to your content not a personal one. I found me best with one chatting app. If it wasn't because it was comfortable due to photo/media sharing, I'd stick to sms to be honest. Who wants you part of their life will take the time and effort to see how you are doing or inviting you to stuff. They can always use WhatsApp or messenger. It's no excuse and vice versa for yourself. If there is someone you like, a friend you want to keep there's nothing wrong with saying "hey, just checking in" ... you don't need social media. You'll live and be better off. Love your microphone! Thank you for sharing, as always! Wishing you all the best for your marriage!
As an INTJ I find Instagram an echo chamber of validation. It used to be fun when our friends/family member casually posts, but, when they took away chronological order, it went downhill along with Facebook purchasing. Your mental health should be your main priority
As an INTJ dude, I don’t like IG either for the same reasons you mentioned. If I found a stable relationship I wouldn’t care as much about Instagram. But I use it to meet and talk to girls so the app has me by the balls lol
It's called decluttering and simplifying your life. Being in the moment is a wise observation because the moment is all we have. The last second is in the past and the next second is in the future. If you give up the moment, what's left of your life? Your fiance will probably also appreciate not feeling like an Instagram prop.
She mentioned the word "jealous" several times. WTF is up with the whole "jealousy" thing?? I have absolutely never been jealous. It's a weird emotion. Long as they didn't steal it from me...HAVE AT IT AND CONGRATULATIONS.... jealousy is a low vibrational phenomenon I think 🤔 if deleting an app helps with that then I "Second that motion"
I'm sorry. I agree with certain aspects of what you said about Instagram and social media in general but posting pictures of yourself when you're in a relationship/or are married is NOT online cheating. That's just ridiculous. It's merely self expression. Depends on what kind of content you're posting, yes, but calling it cheating is extreme.
I can definitely see your point but I think there is an element for straight women where they are posting pictures, knowing that they will receive attention from guys on the internet. What is the 'self expression' of posting a selfie where you clearly look done up? What is the 'self expression' of posting bikini photos from your trip to Cabo? I think its intrinsically about wanting validation - but this is obvs all my opinion.
the fact you are making this video proves you are not being played by the algorithm and you arent a slave to social media. dont be fooled please lydia. IT IS NOT ONLINE CHEATING BECAUSE YOU ARE USING IT TO FURTHER YOUR CAREER. you need to be selfish if you want something for yourself. do not resort to only being on youtube for the satisfaction of your partner. y o u a r e m o r e
Why people think that we need instagram to have social life? Be honest how many friends and experiences u had thanks to instagram? If u are not a creator u are just a minddless costumer who watch shit and ad 6 hours perday while scroll
While I really did appreciate your perspective. Just stay away from generalizations about women on the app. Not every single woman Is posting to get attention from men. And even if women are on there in the hopes to meet someone, it takes a lot to be vulnerable. There is also a trend of women once they become married they have this ridiculous I’m better than attitude. As a recently married woman, I’ve never done that. My husband does not have social media. I can’t stand Instagram, but I don’t shame women who are there. Please take the above is just honest feedback. Otherwise I am in complete agreement. Instagram is so sucking and very hard to be on if you are a conscious non-judgmental person.
While it may be true that some women are just posting pictures for other reasons (for example having an account for their dog), posting selfies and pictures of yourself on the internet opens the doors for people with bad intentions to tempt you. Why even allow yourself the temptation of some other guy’s attention? Of course this is all my perspective. I’m not trying to put other women down but instead show that posting flattering pictures for the whole world to see can have consequences for your relationship.
This girl is being increasingly abused and no one will ever know til she becomes a story. (ily lydia plz dont kys.) u are a star please dont do anything rash please.

I'm intj too
ESFP here tired of the faux world. Living through my phone. Being the center of A scandal was difficult too.
That’s deep when you said “do I want a career that needs social media to thrive”
thank you thank you

@jasperellablackcrowfeather7777 You gave up early. don't drag others down with you.
@@solace6700😂I always found illiterate uneducated people like you amusing!! Thank you for the laughs I needed that 😂
I deleted my account today. I feel so much better!! The heaviness is lifted. Thank you Jesus!
lets gooo
How is it going?
Stay strong! I like a woman without an instagram!
As a normal Jo, I don’t have the pressure of having a social media presence and old enough to tell myself to close the app.
Deleted my insta midway through this video. Also got rid of reddit and twitter. Thanks for the Fi update.
let's gooooo

Never liked Instagram. Sounds like a good move.
I deleted my Facebook account in 2022 and I don't have any regrets. I still Instagram, but seldom post on it.
Kelly also said she might switch to a Dumb Phone.. I am also very close to doing that.

yeah she did... but I definitely need my google maps
@@thelydshow There are some flip phones with google maps or waze... and only a few apps. With no Social Media.

I deleted my Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok for almost 2 months ago, except for keeping RUclips and Whatsapp.💯🙃

Do what makes you happy! I've started more meaningful relationships offline than online. Even if you return, it's all up to you and how you feel.
I've been crying for days before I sleep and I decided I might end up deleting all social media but youtube, because youtube is like my tv.
i highly recommend
deleting the gram is so dope
You can always use a website as your portfolio? That looks way more professional that an instagram feed jheez
You are strong. I am not a real life friend but I believe in you. DO NOT GIVE UP

I’d also check instagram on the phone, put the phone down *and then* open instagram on the desktop. Knew I had to do something after this continued.
