- This was a strong TV. It lasted a lot longer than expected as the Potassium Nitrate, sugar and wax mix eventually caught fire. The TV eventually failed as expected.

I'm subb'n. You have to be the coolest dad in NZ!!!!! And teaching everyone how dangerous high voltage can be. Many people will not have the knowledge or experience to understand this in an emergency situation. I know you're having fun, but you could be saving someone's life if they view your content.
It saved me from playing th fire truck dl fee at an old hotel just a small bit of smoke came out until i turned it off

This one lasted good on fire too, first the picture fails, then the sound, just give me goosebumps when they fail under the flames. My old Thomson couldn't stand temperatures of 27-30 C in 2002-2006 summers.

@@rainbowfrog7420 I'm 14 and I prefer CRT TVs and monitors. They're easy to fix, have a good picture quality (625 lines on older CRTs, or even full HD on newer ones) and no input lag, that's why some people prefer CRTs for gaming. Also some older consoles aren't compatible with flatscreen TVs, I tried my Dreamcast on a 55" 4K TV and the picture was unstable and the colours were terrible, so I tried it on both my CRTs (I have 2) and the picture was fine.
Tip the table over, and the fragile tape appears.
I think it was a bit late.
That TV really made an effort to keep working.

Abhishek Chakraborty flyback voltage? Don’t you mean EHT? The flyback voltage is irrelevant on early CRTs they used deflection plates which would have a sawtooth waveform applied to the plates in the X plane you refer to a flyback voltage well it’s not a Steady state voltage it’s just a rapid transition from the max to the minimum deflection voltage. In modern CRTs coils are used to deflect the beam so it’s actually a magnetic field which is used to deflect the beam.
As for your figure if 50kv if that was applied to an X or Y deflection plate you wouldn’t see the dot it would be way off in outer space....I suggest you brush up on your electronics knowledge first then learn about cathode ray tubes before you start spouting utter twaddle lol

I still use a Sony Trinitron 21 inch crt tv. My friends seem to find it funny or quaint & think I’m eccentric. The picture’s better than most cheap LCD TVs. There was no pixelating when we had analog tv signals. Digital is rubbish & too easily affected by weather. People seem to have forgotten how trouble free analog TVs & radios were!
Yes, so do I still use three CRT TV's and the quality of the picture, especially video games is excellent. This one was a road find and I can't keep them all. Got about 40 roadfind TV's to get rid off taking up space.

I am using a CRT TV today in 2020, for past 17 years. Will use it untill is stops working. That is how developing countries cut their carbon foot print.
Brilliant, I still use a CRT at home too. Just wasteful governments forcing analogue TV's out and most people buying a digital TV instead of a converter box. These TV's were all road finds.

So, I think that all of these brands of consumer electronics are built by korean companies as LG and Samsung! Your Transonic (Here in Canada, we have Magnasonic and Prosonic) seems to be built by Samsung! I either think that many people have been inspired by successful names as "PANASONIC" to add the suffix "sonic" to anything! I didn't recognize the brand "Transonic" here in Canada since I repair electronics!
