Thanks for showing us this! I didn't think anyone would come up with a brushless setup for these.
@@tylerswhorkshoppe8799 no prob! Couldn’t believe how well it worked out lol
I bought both a while ago and they hold up imo. For the price it was a great option.
After watching this video I bought 2 motors , I have a couple of the Injora esc's in the parts box so my Range rover and Discovery will get a little more love , thanks for the heads up on this , stay safe mate .
Very cool Can't wait to see how the ESC works when you get it and the motor fits in the SCX24
I ordered the ESC you mentioned that was on 24 yep, I am definitely ordering this motor now after seeing this video...
Dang it, Matt. I have an FCX24M Disco on the way from Fair RC, and wasn't really planning on doing much to it, other than swap out the wheels to the 0.9" wheels and tires I'm getting from there. Now you do this, and I have several small AM32 ESCs just sitting here, and some plenty powerful buck converters so I can run a high voltage servo... I guess that means I have to do this as well. ;)
Awesome work, and it seems so smooth, and that slow crawl, and that insane top speed. Wow. :D
@@KjetilAakvikGogstad haha! It’s never ending isn’t it?!!
@@2fmrc That it is. haha. And I have a few projects need doing before I get to that. Good thing it takes a couple of weeks for Aliexpress orders to reach me, so I can finish some other stuff first. ;)
Currently building a WPL C44 KM that I want to make brushless as well, and I just got a used SCX24 JLU for cheap that I want to make into a scale thing with a 3D printed body. And so on, and so on. :D
Yeah I'm going to need that motor
Can’t wait to try it in a few different builds lol
Loving the FCX24M content. Great find!
@@jorgecastro6078 thanks!
Great find! I haven't picked up a FCX24M yet, but if I had one I'd be checking this out 👍
Thanks for putting in the work for us !
Micro Brushless motors of any brand are rather cheap anyway (a venom is 20€, injora 15€ with mount !), it’s the ESC that matters…and to find a good one under 40€ for 3s and brushless is much harder.
So yeah, that cheapo motor sure will work with a python backing it !
Waiting for the Ali esc test 😃
What’s neat is that it has the stock bolt pattern though ! That’s mint ! Low cg and lightweight 👌🏼
@@Crawlinski yep! Thats what’s hard to find for these trucks. Plus it runs smooth with the Injora esc. And it’s not just ok in these trucks. It’s amazing! Straight bolt up with pinion included is gold. We can’t even get that when these companies make them specifically for these trucks lol
Brooo this was what i am waiting for . Love it . Thank you so much 😊
@@peat30 absolutely! Thank you for being here! Let me know if ya have any questions on it. Pretty simple install if you’re used to modding.
@ ordered 2 of them for my both Fcx24m and also one of these DIY ESC from Yep24 . Really excited 😜
I have it and love that discovery❤️🔥
Probably I'll install that brushless motor😉💪
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing Matt!
Great vid.
You have a video showing your method of achieving that dusty / patina look?
Looks awesome!
@@CmndaPnda thanks! I did make a video on the simple method I used. Worked really well imo and was pretty simple.

Appreciate that
Thats was really smooth❤
Much better than I expected lol
Super cool Matt👍👍
Great video, thanks for posting, been wondering how this motor works in the 24m. Going to have to order one for a winter project.
@@americantravels2233 thanks for checking it out! Hope it works well for you!
Looking forward to se how this does in an SCX24 setup! So many worm gear ratio options should be able to slow it down as needed.
Thanks Matt fir the link to that wire connector kit i truly need that because i still suck at soldering lol
@@DubVredneck it’s a very handy little kit for sure!

Love the content. Changing the motor and the esc makes you change the receiver? Which one do you use?
Does it only fit after the trans has been flipped around or is that stock trans position 🤔 mist of watched this video 15 times 😂 its more enjoyable than driving my own
Nice! This is what i've been looking for. Wonder if the Injora viper 1721 motor would fit too. If so, will get both injora mbl32 + purple viper. 😂
Pretty cool ! The stock pignon gear's is 11t ? I don't know if you count before mounting 😅
Great motor mate, but I think you should use a 2S battery, to have more control at low speed. In the end all that power at maximum speed is excessive and it's not usefull. What you think about it?
@@christianrotola3 the gearing is so low in these that 2s in low gear is pretty slow when needing that extra bump in speed on an obstacle. I like having the wheel speed of 3s even in low because sometimes jumping into high gear on an incline is a bit tough. With low being super low the control is great even on 3s. But I’m also one that basically never runs 2s in any of these trucks lol
Thanks for the info. Do you know if this motor would fit on the FCX24 unimog or the Morgrich (one speed gearbox) as well?
Is that motor small enough to go in the Losi Micro B? If you don't have 1, you're missing out. Coolest non-crawler of 2024
@@DoubleADay it should be! I picked one up but haven’t really used it much. Wish it was 4wd. It just loops out so easily being so small. It’s ok but I just don’t think I’ll use it much. Kind of wish I hadn’t bought it lol
I have brand new asphalt and it drives on rails. Maybe try some short carpet. More fun with 2 to race
@ yeah I mostly ran it in the garage on slick concrete and indoors on the hardwood and it sucks lol. Outdoors I’d just as soon run my mini b but I could definitely see getting a small roll of carpet and ripping a couple lol
Came to ask the same thing 😂. Any idea if the same pinion would work on the micro without an adjustable motor mount?
@@studio4fifteenProbably just use the stock plastic pinion
Thanks for the awesome job and hard work!!!!
Any special settings it was set to on the injora ese? Thanks !!
@@crazegaming1659 I appreciate that. I don’t think I’ve ever even tuned anything on that Injora esc. Definitely not for this trial run. Tossed it in and went lol
I ordered that cheap esc, and this motor with a transmission. All for about $40. It also comes in a 5000kv version which I thought might be too fast. Esc to arrive Nov. 7, and the motor/trans Nov. 12
@@MysticRiverRC yeah I got the transmission also. All plastic gears sort of kept me from using it yet but I may put it to use at some point
@@2fmrc I guess you could swap in metal gears? I'm building an Ultra24 on a super low budget. Right now it's brushed, but at this price I'm going to try the brushless in it.
In your own opinion which esc worked better for you , also have you tried this with a SCX24 gear box , I'm wondering if it will work as well with the scx24 having a much smaller spur gear , loving the Landy with that brushless system , Stay safe mate .
@@keithbutler6361 I haven’t ran scx transmission with 24m axles but I ran the 24m transmission with scx24 axles and it was just way too slow. The scx transmission may work but I can’t say for sure. I honestly feel like the Injora esc may have handled it slightly better but it was so close it’s hard to say really.
@2fmrc Thanks for that mate , I'm going to mess around d with mine soon just waiting for the motors to be delivered , thanks again mate and stay safe .
I've had mine for a few weeks now. Was wondering how long it would take yal to catch up. Fits well on the HP DWS transmission 👍
I don’t shop Ali often but when I do! Haha! I’ve had mine for a bit but no time to install! I have a DWS transmission I’ve never even used lol
Did you drill new holes, cause I got mine today. There's like a mm difference both sides. So did ya? Drill em out , I mean.🏴
i saw that motor for $15 with a pinion, but i wasnt sure which mod. looks great with that Furitek esc, id like to see it with Injora, or even a cheapie $10 am32 esc to finish out the possibilities of ultra low budget stuff. btw im running the 1806 200okv w scx trans -$32 ali motor with the mbl32 and its ultra slow, as good as furitek down low but loses top end with its kv and gearing
@@ruuster83 I ran it with the Injora also later in the vid
Great 🎉
Is the injora esc recommended for the new motor? Have you found a better servo that is direct fit thanks
Will this work with stock battery and ese?
Is there just an adapter I can buy to go from the motor to esc instead of having to make one?
So, I’m new to the RC world… I have an fcx24m Range Rover, and I bought the motor you recommended, as well as the $10 purple ESC that 24Yep talked about from AliExpress! What else do I need to finish the brushless conversion? Do I need to order an RX/TX that compatible with brushless systems? I want to get stuff on order if need be, while I wait for the motor/esc!
@@erichfranke nice! All you should need is a rx/tx like the gt5 or something & connectors for your servos. I highly recommend the gt5 because it has cheap micro receivers that work well with the 24s. They usually go on sale around Black Friday or cyber Monday. Last yr I picked one up for like $50 I think. So keep an eye on them next wk! You will also need to change the connectors on your steering and shift servo to fit a standard receiver. I’ll link the kit I used below as well as the gt5. Let me know if ya need anything else!

@@2fmrcI appreciate the replies! I ended up figuring it all out. I tried that $10 esc from the 24Yep recommendation, and it does not run this little motor very well, not smooth and no torque… I have an MBL32 showing up tomorrow to hopefully get my Range Rover up and running again with the AliExpress 4000kv motor! Need to get the brushless swap figured out so I can finalize the body swap I’m doing!
SCX24 build next with hobbywing 1621sl and their Quicrun Mini24 combo! Tiny little package(I was hoping the hobbywing motor would fit the 24m, but it hits the transmission… motor mounting pattern is correct for the 24m… just too large sadly)
Can you fit aftermarket axles made for the scx24 on these? My biggest hesitation in getting one is the lack of upgrades.
@@slackreviews I built an scx24 build with this transmission and scx axles and it was just super slow. So for me I ditched the build. It was just too slow in low and couldn’t crawl at all in high gear.
Weird question but does an esc effect slow speed crawling or is that more of a motor thing? I snagged a deal on one of the FMS Bronx units and noticed its a little twitchy down low like my AX24 where you have to give it a lot more throttle input to get over an obstacle than something like the TRX4M. I know gearing plays a big role but they’re already slow enough at top speed so I was gonna address the power or esc first and go from there.
@@yota_blaster5030 the esc can make a huge difference also. It really all works together. Gearing, motor kv and esc but having a good esc definitely makes a difference.
How much did it cost again?
@@seniorxj2931 the motor itself is like $12 plus some shipping. Around $15-17 depending on the listing. Its listed a couple different ways on Ali. I just got two more for $34 shipped I think it was.
Is that a 0,3 or 0,4 mod pinion ?
@@snörre23 .4 mod pinion
Losi micro b motor option!?
@@maxpane657 probably so! I just got a micro b but haven’t really ran it much.
Did you know if the fcx24 k5 pro motor will fit in?
@@fyego not without some sort of motor mount that no one really makes yet.
Hey hey
Anyone else having issues with the fcx24m servo?
Ive found that the front upper link mount on the axle totally prevents the use of aftermarket servos.
Ive had to replace the servo with the stock ones and it already is broken again.
Other than that i love the little rig
DS Power S003m-jst! Plug and play servo. Metal gears! Just need a longer screw for the stock servo saver to bolt on!
How well do you think this motor would work in an SCX24?
@@humbertomaya7200 I feel like it will work just fine. As good as it seems in this I couldn’t see there being a huge difference in the scx. I’m hoping to find out when I get my other one lol
@2fmrc I might just have to find out for myself as well 🤣
The motor maybe noisy because your running it on 3s, I’m pretty sure it’s only meant for 2s 🤷♂️
@@cols_bricks probably part of it but it ran fine on the 3s. Pretty sure I could get away with 4s 😆
@@2fmrcit does seem to be a pretty good motor, I’ll probably get a couple for my rigs 😀
sounds like a train horn when you punch it! Hahaha. Awesome video!
That motor is down to 15 bucks
@@RippSnortin yeah it was $11 something and has actually gone up. Then shipping on top of it. I got 2 for like $34 shipped
