A colleague of my dad took part in the ‘86 camel trophy… all the prep first and later all ‘war stories’… Oh man, did that make a lasting impression; almost 40 yrs later I pretty much jumped up for joy seeing this scale model just yet!
Same here, so excited to get this. My dad doesn't do RC stuff but I'm buying him one because I know he'll appreciate it. Such good memories of these trucks
You did a very good review and drive. The truck performed extremely well with no updates. The oil shocks were big help. It might've been you or another reviewer who described a good crawler as composed. That applies here. These will sell very well in the UK with all the different models of British trucks/SUV's. It has a lot going for it with bearings, two speed gear box, etc.
Nice little Crawler. I like it much more than my TRX-4M. I found it funny when he said: I stopped putting drivers in these crawlers and would let the manufacturers do it and then proceeded to put a driver in it. Lol
Aye I thought I would throw this in, I noticed that fms website has some xtra upgrade parts, and they have drivers with interior replacements available. Looks like 2 different drivers available for each vehicle.
Glad you figured out the lights! 🤣😉 I ran the Range Rover today and it definitely performs better than the Discovery. Haven't tried the Defenders yet, but for me the Range Rover and Disco is where it's at. 👍
3:04 when I was in the display industry, a supplier brought me in VHB velcro. It had wire fuzzies and you needed to slide a knife or slim jim between it to get it apart. I think it was rated at 120 lbs psi? I had speakers on the dash board of my boat that had 2 thin strips. People were always worried about them flying off in rough seas..."yeah right, you can't PULL those off" (many tried)
At last! I've spent years banging on about how under-represented the OG Range Rover is in the RC world - and at last a manufacturer has come out with a hard-body RTR Rangie! Ive just ordered one of these after your review popped in my suggestions. Lol. Great unboxing and review mate. I was torn between the Defender or the TRX4m. Decided on one of these due to the 2 speed. Looked the easier of the two to control slowly out of the box
Man, your videos are really scratching an itch for me. I've had so much fun bashing my old Tamiya Fighter Buggy when I was young, but haven't done much RC anything for quite a while. I am really tempted to go for a crawler this time, because I don't really have a track for the buggy around. At least none without "proper 800€ Buggy-Snobs" xD
Awesome little crawler! You should put this new version up against the trx4m bronco and newest scx24 with oil shocks. That would be a great video! It would help a lot of people decide on which one to buy. Like myself.

Got my Defender 90 today, nice little truck except that while i was test running it around the floor it lost its front drive, had a look and a UJ in the front propshaft had broken. While I was removing it to fit one of the spares they give you (and ordering a metal upgrade!) I realised that the reason it broke was that the front axle was locked up solid, turns out a tooth had broken off the pinion gear and jammed the axle. I have contacted the seller about a replacement gear, can't tell if it is a weak design or maybe mine was just defective?
