  • The 2024 Volkswagen Crafter Kampervan is here to offer keen camper's an all-in-one solution from the showroom floor, with the GEN2 version building upon the formula set by the original with a series of upgrades that should cater for most needs when off the grid. Point being, this is no ordinary large van.
So, what do Crafter Kampervan buyers get for their money? Well, the list of standard features is simply too long, but the highlights include a shower, a toilet, a kitchen (with a gas cooktop, a sink, a fridge and a microwave), a double bed, a television (with an aerial) and Wi-Fi, plus seating for four people and much, much more.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist David Morley attends the Crafter Kampervan's Australian media launch to find out if Volkwagen's local partnership with Jayco has yielded the best camper van that money can buy.

I'm definitely putting the all terrain one on my wish list; not that I can afford one, but it is fun to dream.

Grouse review mate & many factors to consider as you mentioned at the end, towing a van could be more price effective

Perhaps buying one, travelling for 1 year, you would not lose much $ when you sell it. It offers a great alternative to a caravan.

I couldn't believe the title of this video 😂.... VW and Jayco teaming up is like adding petrol to a diesel engine 🤯

I’d like to know how much Jayco / VW paid you to say this - let me tell ya the quality build of the 1st Gen wouldn’t have passed the european standard - it is simply not good. If this 2nd gen is any better it would solely be because the 1st was so bad that it only could get better regardless if they would have. All the improvement i have to say are based on us 1 Gen owners pointing out how hideous some of the designs were - i don’t have much time for Jayco and VW at the moment as on top of the above the after sales care factor has been so low that i still 15mths after taking delivery not have a fully functioning van and never had.

That is always the big question......camper or caravan. Both have pros and cons. But using the camper for the campingground and stay there for a week or more??? Do yourself a favour....by a caravan.
