The original legion was not founded by Emperor Augustus but by Pompey the Great ( A contemporary of Julius Caesar ) in Italy for services in Spain. Now imagine 40,000 of them in their manipular formations fighting on a field, hacking each other to death for hours, then doing it all over again the next day.

The legions of the late republic and onwards didn't use manipular formations.

Vespasian's son was named Titus, not Tacitus. He later became emperor on the death of his father.

Good catch. You are of course correct. Titus was Vespasian's son; he commanded the auxilia in Britain and went on to destroy Jerusalem in 70 A.D. Thanks for the correction. Tacitus was a the noted historian and senator of the Roman empire. Again, thanks for the correction.

It's a parade by a living history group. What were you expecting exactly lol? Its just for fun, not for actual warfare.

Vespasian's son, Tacitus, was in command of the auxilia. His claim to fame was the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and the dispersion of Israel that lasted until 1948.
