Idk about that but it’s a great record. His dad would try to turn us onto Dennis Wilson’s Pacific Ocean blue record. Hi...I'm really glad you are discussing No Other again. I post songs from it whenever I can. As you've said before, one of the best albums ever. I bought the album the day it came out and have never looked back...because...there is no other.
I only discovered “No Other” a couple years ago and it quickly became a favorite. It’s hard to believe how unappreciated it was in its time given how wonderful it is.
Lee, you became such a part of my life with your channel. It makes you part of the family. The other day I dreamed that I was visiting you in LA, having a great conversation with you and playing with the dogs.
I had a dream a few months ago where Leland sent me a text saying I needed to learn to be kinder to people. Not true yet the message made me evaluate how I was treating others
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and recollections on your participation on this album and bringing attention to the artistry of Gene Clark.
No Other is one of my all time favorite albums. Every song is outstanding. I bought it in 74. I still play it frequently. I got to know Gene a bit in the early 70s. A very nice and also funny guy to hang out with. I recall taking a fast ride in his ferrari on pch. Was devastated when he died
Gene Clark, one of the most under-appreciated songwriters of the era. He was truly extraordinary, also blessed with a great singing voice. Am I alone in saying he should have had a greater singing role in The Byrds? His songs and his singing could have carried the band. Too often he just played the tambourine and sang backup. And I'm also a McGuinn, Crosby, and Hillman fan. Alas! It is water under the bridge. I only say this to express my deep appreciation for Clark's exceptional music. Thank you, Leland, for showcasing this album, as well as revealing your role in its creation. I had no idea. Another example of your place in the music of my life that I had little to no idea you were part of till now.
This is fabulous!! Love his voice, the arrangements are just out of this world....gotta have this! Thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule to think of all of us and connect 😘 BTW... You didn't bring the clown shoes?? AND, can't you request a squeaky chair, I'm missing it, you must be too.🤣😂🤣😂 Have a great show👍👍. Be safe everyone 🤗 and have a spectacular rest of your day😉
Thank you so much for this. I love Gene so much. The greatest Byrd in my book. My friend, the late Larry Robinson from the band Things to come was his roommate for a while as well as Russ's. I am happy I was able to see Gene perform, especially like the work he did both with Carla Olson and Doug Dillard. What a voice he had and what a brilliant writer.
I just saw Roger McGuinn on the 17th and Chris Hillman was in the audience (He joined Roger for the encore songs (Hickory Wind and a reprise of So You Want to Be a Rock 'n Roll Star) Loved Gene's early compositions with the Byrds, especially Feel a Whole Lot Better and Set You Free This Time!
Gene was a genius --- one of my most favorite albums was the Byrds Reunion Album which featured several of his songs which to me were the highlights of the album. Hope all went well in Hoosick Falls!
No other is one of my favourite albums - that was the album I heard back in 75 or so when I first noticed this amazing bass player - the musical choices are all just stellar on that album.
@@rickibobby1042 @dmlevitt Ricki your comment made me start having a look on ebay, without digging too deep there were several brand new CDs listed with the searest being US$26 so not too bad , I suppose the actual vinyl copy may be the big bucks number Cheers Mike 😎
I really appreciate your videos on No Other and the background on the work that you and your pals did on it. It’s one of my all time top records and the bass is a big part of that. It’s so cool to see that you can still sit and enjoy this amazing music along with lots of the other projects you were part of. Really enjoying your videos, thank you!

It’s been said that Jesse played slide guit on Doctor My Eyes. Do you remember this to be true? You were there.
There's a male voice (baritone) in the background very resonant at times. Is that Gene or Timothy?
Couldn't you take your sqeaky chair with you? I miss it so much 😁
