Hi, Guys I am from Northern Ireland and fly fishing almost 70 years, I absolutely love dry fly fishing. I really enjoyed your video, I don't know your language but; I understood every single word. Good Luck Reg.
I rewatch and rewatch and rewatch all your videos year after year dreaming of the slice of heaven you guys get to experience. Much love from America 🇺🇸
Ten years ago i've been in swedish lapland. It was just wonderful despite the mosquitos. Landscape is just breathtaking and your fishing clips are amazing, every one of them! Ha det bäst och lycka till!
As always beautiful video, excellent fishing, and beautiful background to highlight the experience! Thankyou for sharing! I call this the symphony of fishing!
I love to watch these guys. Phenomenal fishermen, they fish some of the most beautiful water I've seen and they have a love and respect for the environment.
All I can say is thank you for taking the time to film, edit and post such beautiful places. The footage is the best in my book. Thanks for letting me tag along. Blessings gentlemen.
An alarm bell should be rung for this place ASAP because of extreme pressure on this beautiful small valley river. Natural environment has been impacted already. While there is still plenty of char coming from lake, native trout population obviously decreases. At least three fishing camps in a river valley (5 km length) and several more in mountains nearby. From 3 to 7 fishermen in each camp. You can easily count how many fish is taken from river each day. Besides You can imagine traffic on a river banks and impact on natural environment. We were four fly fishermen. We caught 10 trouts (larger one 50 cm) and at least 15 times more char (35-45 cm) during 9 fishing days in these places. 4 trouts and 12 chars kept. There were lot of spin fishermen. Most fishermen we met were from Finland but also from Sweden. In order to restore and keep natural balance of this valley appropriate restrictions and limitations definitely should be applied by local authorities. The best way probably could be applying quotas and establishing fly fishing only zone. Probably place should rest for a few years and fishing should be prohibited in river for a while.
Excellent. Lovely film. I've fished Swedish Lapland and enjoyed it very much. Utterly beautiful. The mosquito density is staggering. Wearing a head net I had to stop fishing at intervals to brush off the bugs in order to see through the net. They bit through my half-mitt gloves. I did wonder what the heck they would be eating if they were not eating me. I'm glad I did it, and I caught plenty of nice fish, but couldn't go back into those clouds of blood suckers. Maybe better after an autumnal frost or two kills them off.
Thanks. Appreciate it :) Yeah, the mosquitoes can be overwhelming at times. But on the other hand we've noticed that the quality of the fishing and the amount of mosquitoes have a very strong correlation so for us the mosquitoes are a positive thing. Makes it easier to cope with them. I guess they are using mass-production as a strategy to survive up there. As you say they don't have much to eat and if they mass-produce they increase the possibility that some of the insects will find food and survive. We never use head net while fishing, only when we're taking a nap during the day. Strong repellant works quite well. Cheers
Also, I must say, with this longer video, you guys are offering cinematic quality content for totally free on RUclips, it is kind of crazy. The amount of effort you must put into these videos and release them this frequently is astounding. I wish I had expendable money to help support you, but things are bad now. Thank your for continuing to entertain us all, even now!
I've gotten my girlfriend into watching these videos and she has never fly fished a single day of her life. Watching you eat curated sushi and dark rum after taking dry fly eaters is tough to take though... too much of a good thing.
Thanks Andrew. Appreciate it :) I really don't know any guides in the area. We usually contact one of the helicopter services and ask them to recommend a place where they can transport us. Works great. Cheers
Thanks Paulius. Appreciate it :) We use tippets around 0,15 mm (5x) in this type of water. We prefer not to reveal this river's name. I don't think it would stand too much fishing pressure. Cheers from Sweden
Thanks. Appreciate it :) Unfortunately I'm not allowed to tell the location of this stream. I would recommend to contact one of the many helicopter services up in the north of Sweden and ask them to take you to a good fishing spot. They know plenty for sure. Cheers
@@CarpeDiemFlyfishingHi! I have always endorsed your music. Finnish flyfishing channels often play pop or rock and it really ruins the harmony. Could you publish your music somewhere. I think that's something what many of us really like to listen.
Hey Guy's Im from the United States, and I was wondering if you guys are using single flys and if so how long are your leaders? I have been flyfishing for maybe 16 years still young and learning every day, thanks again.
Hey Gregory. We always use single flies. It's the main method in Sweden. The length of the leader depends on how clear the water is. If it's clear, like in this video, we normally use a leader 1,5-2 times the length of the rod. If it's a bit more muddy water we might go down to one rod length (approx 9 ft). Cheers
Tack David :) Vi använder en Canon EOS C100 mkII med i huvudsak objektiven Canon EF 16-35/4,0 L IS och Canon EF 100mm f/2,8L Macro IS Usm plus några till.
