This will be the last one of the Trout Heaven films from us so we made it quite a long piece. Hope you'll enjoy it. Thanks to Björn Wikman for the aerial footage.
Hi Anders....I just finished watching all 3 videos, it gave me great peace and joy to see the mighty brown trout come to the fly!! Beautiful and very well done, your technique is awesome, thank you for showing the video world the thrill and beauty of fly fishing!!! God Bless you and Krister :)
Amazing video guys! What a beautiful fishery, everything from the scenery to the trout and insects were stunning. Can't wait to see more, your videos are always so well shot. Tight Lines!
I've watched your videos...over and over..... and then again. Sensational. A perfect mix of ambient noise and music, patience and frustration, coffee and campfires. A great display of casting and angling skill. A healthy respect for the fish. If there was ever a selection of videos that encapsulate all there is about fly fishing on the rivers, these are it. Well done to you sir. I've just added another trip to my bucket list.
I can only agree with what Booster B says here. These videos are beautiful to watch and indeed to listen to. A perfect demonstration of why we fish and the deep love and respect we have for the places we fish and the fish we fish for. Thank you Krister and Anders, thank you so much.
I've seen most of these video's and I can only say that they are amongst the best fly fishing video's I've ever seen, although "once in a blue moon" falls in that category too. Everything is in it. Nature, sentiment, atmosphere, succes, faillure , jumping fish and all of that in excellent takes and prime quality. Your video person and editor(one and the same?) are - no doubt - professionals who know what they are doing, putting all of this video material together like a tastefull meal in a 3 star Michelin restaurant. Watching this, is as if you are there yourself. Chapeau!!!
I have watched all of the videos in the Carpe Diem series and they are absolutely enthralling, not only for the fishing but also for the focus on fly and natural life and the natural environment which is beautiful...please..please consider another series, it is the most interesting thing i have watched on you tube for years. Anders enthusiasm for the trout (and like me, the Laphroig whiskey) is a bit like the corona virus, highly infectious, as is that of the other anglers in the videos...Martin...Rolf and others. I wish we could have a salmo trutta virus! Once this virus thing is over and we have all had our vaccine I must come to Sweden, you have some of the best Brown trout fishing in the World. I will be out next week in the UK for the first time this year; my bag, rods are all ready to go. One thing may I ask, is Anders using the Orvis 8ft glass rod? I have always had a liking for glass as a good material for fly rods and they should be less expensive than carbon but they are not of course. But he seems to have good success on it. Ja ja ja indeed!!
Hello krister, hi Anders, 5 months ago you asked the thumb to push me to the trout join. Now I have seen Trout Heaven II and am thrilled again. Gorgeous shots and beautiful trout and great fly fishing. The aerial photographs of the drone are very well done. Anders has become the perfect actor as fly fishermen who can suffer so nice and I would like to share a coffee and a cream bun with him. I love your movies Hermann Josef K. from Germany
Great Footage man! its a beatiful display of what troutfishing can be, Ithink a lot of people can use this footage as therapy thanks! I was wondering what kind of tippet you use for these big brownies? Keep up the good work!
Thanks Glenn. Glad you like the video :) We use quite thick tippet, around 0,20 mm (3x), because we want to bring the fish home as quick as possible so that we don't stress it too much. And the water is not crystal clear either. Cheers /Krister & Anders
the best video of fly fishing ever seen .i almost cry of joy .you show our passion so well . wonderfully filmed .i hope you ll show us new videos soon . again thank you very much . a french fly fishing grand pa🎣
Year ago I bought a video camera and thought I'd make all kinds of great fishing videos. Then I realized that if i wanted movies of me catching fish, I'd have to ask a buddy to STOP fishing to film me! Or I'd have to quit fishing myself to film my buddies. So my cinematic angling chronicles never came to be. Awesome job guys. Would love it if somebody translated into English in the closed captions.
Thanks for the translation. A couple of weeks ago I put a camera on a tripod in the bow of my boat and recorded myself getting some strikes in Lake Ontario. Not quite the immersive experience you guys have created, but if you're curious about fishing big water in America, visit my channel. It will be the first video you see (until I make the next one!)
Välproducerade filmer får man säga - snyggt jobbat. Hörde senaste idag att det fortfarande är en av de bästa öringfiskeplatserna söder om Umeälven :) Finns en ny bro sedan några år, den gamla var lite svajig på slutet.
Oh my god! This is the greatest film I’ve ever seen. A work of fine art. Greetings from a fly fishing brother in the Kootenai River Valley in Montana!!
You definitely named these videos correctly. "Trout heaven" is an understatement! Great videos and fishing, in fact I'm kinda jealous of your "spot" there and I live in a pretty good place for trout fishing myself. Absolutely beautiful country and MASSIVE browns, tight lines man!
GREAT trilogy. Wonderful photography and you have captured the emotions of the angler and the river and woodland so well. Great to see that the trout were (generally) held in the water, rather than out of it, so the gills remained immersed. Keep up the fabulous work!
Great film making. The angles brought me right into the experience. The production value seems as though it would play fantastic in the theatre. Super work. I subscribed and found that you have many more to view. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Amazing video. Beautiful fish. Trout Heaven 1 inspired me to take the leap into fly fishing as a long time trout spinner. Haven't turned back. What weight rod do use? Cheers from Australia
Thanks Olay. Good to hear you like the video and that we got you inspired to start fly fishing :) We use a weight 4 rod for this type of fishing. Chhers from Sweden /Krister & Anders
Great video. I like stream and river fishing in Germany. In Germany it's hart to find local streams that allways have fish. I uploaded some movies with brown trout this year. Best regard from Germany Christoph En
Too bad that I came upon your channel late and that this is the last you plan to make of these. I especially like the distinctly European feel, where you still maintain a timeless gentlemanly quality to your sports. In your dress, equipment, attitudes and behaviours. You're not dressed like a nascar driver and acting like an over-caffeinated frat-boy the way a lot of fishing videos are, with their heavy metal music, 3d graphics and silliness. The production quality is unequalled in any outdoorsmen videos I've seen. You take the art to a new level. Bravo.
Thank you very much for your kind words Ross. Really appreciate it. And you're not too late, there will be more videos of course, but no more Trout Heavens :) Cheers /Krister & Anders
Sooo... Perfection doesn't exist (for me), but you are very, very close to the that. I love your way... Way your fishing, your filming, losing your nerves, fish landing... Heaven. NZ Clips and movies with "10 meter" trouts, nymphing, cool guys and their helicopters are Hollywood-movies: glitter and shine, and your vids are Susane Bier- quite and fine (for me). Only one, I dont like is title- Final Chapter... Dont write this, please. If Roki and Rambo could be 5-6-7 parts, then you can make 10 more. ;) I like you guys. Keep on doing please. We need this for cold winter days and "fishing" on internet. Greetings from Austria. Miki
Thanks a lot Miki. Those are exactly the words we like to hear :) And we will be back with other videos of course, just no more Trout Heavens. Cheers from Sweden /Krister & Anders
THANK YOU so much for your wonderful vedios. Every time i watch them i feel serene and peaceful, and i truly need that in my life now. The filming is fantastic, so much so that i am there with you. Please continue to make them. I have watched them over and over and cant get enough because when you find peace you hold on to that which brings it to you. THANKYOU SO MUCH LOVE TONY FROM TORONTO.
Thanks Tony. Good to hear we can help you find peace. We will of course continue making films because that's one of the ways for us to find serenity and peace :) Cheers from Sweden /Krister & Anders
Great video,i'm watching it couple time per day...And very enjoying while watching it. It's unique and hope so that you two will make more videos like this triology... Best Regards from Sarajevo
Thanks Kenan. Good thing with the tube that you can watch it as many times as you like :) There will be more videos from me and Anders, good to hear that you wish so. Cheers from Sweden /Krister & Anders
Hi guys. Fantastic videos. Some stunning trout, in beautiful surroundings! I apologise in advance, but I do laugh out loud at your expressions when you lose a fish, I totally understand why, and I do exactly the same. Keep the vids coming please Great job guys! All the best and tight lines Richard
THANKYOU for the beauty you create in the filming and fishing. I love nature and your filming realy brings me there with you. The feeling of peace is what truly your film gives and for that i am graetful. THANKYOU
Finished watching all three now. All I can say is Wow. Great photography and presentation and beautiful fishing. You two are Great Artists. Love the nature and time to enjoy it. I'm ready to go fishing now.
Likely the best fly fishing video I have ever seen! I went to the International Fly Fishing Film Festival last year for the first time. Your video far exceeds anything I saw that evening. You were able to capture so much about fly fishing that people enjoy, sometimes without even realizing it. Looking forward to your next video
Great movie, beautiful nature, watched with udovolstvie seemed that I myself in the river Atran and catching trout fly fishing, thanks to the participants of the film, bravo Christer & Anders.
Oh my god, so much time waiting for this! Awesome video!! If some day you have the chance, you should come to Argentina, fishing in the patagonia or fishing the Golden Dorado! It would be nice to see you! Cheers from Argentina!
Thanks Fede. Good to hear you like the video. And thanks for the invitation to Patagonia. It's high up on our wishing list :) Cheers from Sweden /Krister & Anders
Do you guide at all or can recommend one around Aetran? I've heard about the river several times now and want to go there in the end of September for 3 days, so far though my internet research has had limited results and I'm not entirely clear about licenses etc. yet and where I might be able to find a good guide for the first day. Any advice would be really appreciated - unless you prefer to keep this a secret, which I'd fully understand:-)
Hi Jan. It's not a secret at all and you can by license here: www.fiskeihillared.se/ but the trout in this area are protected from the middle of September I'm afraid. I'll see if Anders can chime in on the guiding question. Cheers /Krister
great videos, great fishing, beautiful footage and great music! by the way who is the musician and what song in your intro minute 1 please. Keep up the good work and great fishing
I've watched many videos of trout fishing but I enjoy and get more pleasure from the superb videos that you two have made. I wish that I could aptly describe all that I experience when I watch your videos. It's as though I am there with you and seeing things first hand. I really envy the memories that you two have created in these videos that you'll share for the rest of your lives. It's what dreams are made of for most of us.Good luck and best of wishes for your future endeavors.John
Very happy to find your channel. Great camera work and great fishing. I appreciate the way you handle the trout very gently. Good lesson for all responsible fly fishermen. Cheers.
the Trout Heaven videos start my days guys so sad this is the last one, but so glad the 3 exist. They get me ready to fish every time I go out, Cheers! From the US, please continue giving videos I enjoy all of them, maybe mayfly heaven 2
Thanks Nick. Very glad to hear you enjoy our videos :) There will be more of course. Mayfly Heaven 2 sounds like a good idea, we'll see about that. Cheers /Krister & Anders
Another great one! Really enjoyed it. I love how you are able to capture the nature of it all. Very detailed. Really nice Browns. I think the largest I've seen on the series was the one you caught in trout heaven 2. Big Brown caught near an old stone wall. Have you caught any others on the river bigger than that one? Anyway, great video once again!
Thanks. Good to hear you enjoy the videos :) You are right, that one was the biggest in the three videos, but the one at around 7:00 in this video is not far behind. They are both around 2 kg. We catch trout at around this size every year in the river but there has been bigger catches, up to 3 kg I would say. In the old days trout at around 5 kg has been caught in the river. I'll see if Anders has some more info in the topic. Cheers /Krister
Not really sure if you mean how often we fish together or separately? Well, Anders is my wifes cousine so we go way back, and we've been fly fishing for over 20 years (I just realized that I've actually been fly fishing for more than 35 years, OMG;). But for some reason we've not been fishing together. The films you see on this channel with Anders are the only times we've spent together by the river, and then I'm filming and he's fishing. Anders lives near this river so during the mayfly period (end of May-beginning of June) I would say he's out fishing every day. The key to success is knowing the river and especially knowing the insects hatching at the moment and what the fish normally prefer to eat. That's more important than beeing good at casting. We both have families so we fish when we can have a few hours to spend ;) Cheers /Krister & Anders
I truly admire the work that was displayed in this film. It is by far the best presentation of fly fishing at its finest. What a wonderful series that you have created. I never get tired of watching these videos

Hi Daniel. I used to have a DSLR but I got tired of it and bought a Canon C100 mkII. Very expensive but huge difference. Lenses I use are mainly 16-35 f/4L, 24-105 f/4L and 100 f/2,8L Macro. I have a few more but these are the ones I use mostly. Cheers /Krister
Best time for fishing in this river (Southern Sweden) is end of May to beginning of June. That's when the big mayflies hatch and the trout are very active and feeding on the surface. So that's when we did the fishing you see in the video :) Cheers /Krister & Anders
I know that, thanks a lot. I forgot this is going in northern part of Europe and here where I live in May you wear t-shirts and is hot like in hell. That's why I asked :) Thank you for this series I really enjoyed them, waiting for next uploads of you guys :)
Your videos are absolutely the best. I had been wanting to learn to fly fish for awhile and after watching this video I bought a fly rod and started this year. I've been having a lot of fun learning. I saw that you uploaded a video a couple weeks ago but when I went to watch it you had taken it down. What happened? Hope to see a new video soon. Keep them coming.
Thanks Jake. Glad you like the videos and that we inspired you to start fly fishing :) There are some videos on the way. Stay tuned. Cheers and tight lines /Krister & Anders
It's like Christmas when you put a new video on your channel. Thank you!!! 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Thanks a lot. Very kind words :) Cheers and Merry Christmas /Krister & Anders

Cheers /Krister
like more hunting than fishing........very enterteining
Thanks. Appreciate it :) Cheers

Nice video ! Where is this located in Sweden?
Thanks Berend :) It's in the south of Sweden. Just south of a town called Borås. Cheers
Två konstnärer slår sig ihop och skapar magi, tack för den här serien, mycket uppskattat!
Och vi uppskattar din kommentar Willy. Tack för den :) /Krister & Anders
Very happy to find your channel. Great camera work and great fishing. I appreciate the way you handle the trout very gently. Good lesson for all responsible fly fishermen. Cheers.
Thanks Robert. Appreciate your comment :) Cheers /Krister & Anders
the Trout Heaven videos start my days guys so sad this is the last one, but so glad the 3 exist.
Booking flight tickets to Gothenburg already for May next year folks :)
Good idea hicnar. See you then :) Cheers /Krister & Anders
Beautiful video gentlemen , how often do you and Anders fish and for how long if I may ask? Cheers from America
Awesome man. My big fish celebration drink is also the zacapa 23!
Thanks Gonzo. Good to hear you like the video :) And it's seems that you have good taste. Cheers /Krister & Anders
I truly admire the work that was displayed in this film. It is by far the best presentation of fly fishing at its finest. What a wonderful series that you have created. I never get tired of watching these videos
Thanks Mark. Very kind words :) Cheers /Krister & Anders

can't stop watching trout heaven ... absolutely amazing videos very inspiring! !!! ps what fly rod does Anders use ?
Thanks Andy. Glad you enjoy the videos :) The rod is an Orvis glass, #5. If you want more details I'll ask Anders to chime in. Cheers /Krister
Andy Guy it's a Orvis superfine glass #4 7,6.
+Carpe Diem What camera are you using in this video and what lens?
Storslagen filmning och ännu mer underbart mete. Mästare på jobbet!

Question What country are you fallers fishing in
This is Sweden. Southern parts. Cheers /Krister & Anders
Härlig film, tack så mycket :)
Tack ska du ha Jimmy. Ha de bra /Krister & Anders
Excellent video! What time of year you did fishing guys? :)
That's why I asked :) Thank you for this series I really enjoyed them, waiting for next uploads of you guys :)
what a video great dry fly fishing the best by far well done
Thanks a lot. Really appreciate your comment :) Cheers /Krister & Anders
