Ooooo and people also need to understand how hard it is to be a one person business at home! 😭 you literally buy all ur ingredients, make everything (desserts + decorative frosting/icings), and have to clean up after yourself ! I can literally spend morning to night working on an order ! 😲
Right? Having been in this type of business it really makes me not quibble as much about pricing for other types of services because I understand that I might just not understand🤔 haha. Hope you liked how they turned out 💕💕
YES!!! Organise for most housework chores to be done prior, dinner going in slow cooker. I do the intricate/detailed work mostly when everyone is in bed so no distractions. Great video. Thank you 👑
Hi from New Zealand! Thank you for putting this video together, I found it very helpful. Just wondering, do you leave your cookies to cool down in the same tray they baked in? It appears you do, I'm guessing you have no issues with the underside becoming moist?
Your videos are so helpful! Thank you! I'm doing a large cookie order for Christmas and plan to freeze a few weeks ahead of time. I once read that baked sugar cookies should set out (or covered) overnight before icing them. Of course, this definitely adds to the time schedule! Do you know why this would be recommended? You mentioned in your video that you ice yours the same day. That's what I'd prefer to do but haven't tried it. Thx!
Hi! Love the video! Do you know the approximate measurement's for the large batch of sugar cookies? If you don't mind listing it in American measurements that would be great!!!! Thank you!
Hello I was wondering how you made those sugar cookies for the swimsuit and sandals that you made what temperature did you put the sugar cookies on and how did you make the icing for the topping for the sugar cookies?
I love how detailed and beautiful cookies are made and I thought maybe I should try but watching you making them I just don’t know lol so much work and I have two small kids. Nice video thank you for sharing.
Thanks for posting this video - I loved it! I have a question - by icing the cookies so soon out of the oven, do you worry about (or encounter) butter bleed?
I've just barely figured out how to make sugar cookie dough for cutout cookies and they still stress me out. Also, my piping skills are great (esp for cakes) but I just dont do or crave royal icing cookies enough to get better at them 🤔 beautiful work as always 😍💚💚
Sometimes I get in a big cookie mood, but doing cakes can definitely be more rewarding because you get such a big product at the end of it! So many local bakeries don’t even offer custom cookies because it IS so much work for less payoff!
I prefer to mix a little quick cookie icing with a tsp bit of soft butter, 10x sugar, and a little milk, vanilla extract, & almond extract (never imitation) until the consistency is just right for spreading, and use right away else add a dab of more milk when you do.. (For colored icing, divide into little bowls and start with the tiniest drop of color in each until it's as you like, and I prefer the colors to be light.) I think royal icing is too sweet and too much work. Plus, just go with the shapes that cut the cleanest, and don't fuss with cutters that give you grief!
Always your work is outstanding!! 🥰I always wonder when my cookies are drying before packaging usually I leave them after I have iced and decorated on my table overnight so in the morning they will be ready to package but I always wondered if I should cover them loosely with plastic wrap or just leave them uncovered to dry?
What size do you typically shoot for in cookie thickness? I find that my 1/4 inch cookies sometimes break if I either stack one on top or certain shapes that have thinner sides like sunglasses. How can I keep those from breaking?
I have frozen the dough for a week and it's still fine though I would try to use it within 3-4 days. I've left the dough frozen for up to 3 months, but it's probably best within about 1 month :).
Hello new baker here, I have a large order to do tomorrow and I was wondering If I could make the Royal icing the night before so in the morning I’ll have everything ready but If so would I need to leave it refrigerated overnight or let it sit out in room temp? Help!!!
How can I put final price on my page 🤔as you know every order is different. Every cookies has different decorations. Could you please give an example for standard prices, so the customers can see them.
I actually recommend not putting any final prices for things that are custom order! You can put a starting price, but no bakeries I know put final prices down since things are so unique.
May I ask where you are located to get those prices? I know I need to go up on mine, but have no idea how without overpricing and discouraging people from ordering
I just watched the video before this one and got my answer! 🤦♀️ thank you! Your channel has given me the confidence to attempt cookies again in my home baking business ❤️
Wow this was two years ago if you want to avoid the frosting to sink in on the cookie make a squiggle line of frosting then fill in and dint cook those thin cookies 12 minutes is way to long I see a lot of what I call over cooked 😊

Same! My whole day off went into making 85 cookies! They were double cookies sandwiched with jam and topped with glace icing and fondant Decorations.
Totally!! Each cookie takes SO much time as it is, but the packaging and clean up is also a lot too. 💕💕
Don’t forget the designing of the order, taking pictures and trying to promote yourself…the pictures and promoting is the worst for me
This video describes exactly how I felt making 85 Easter cookies. If only people knew how hard it is they would understand why the price is as it is.

Ooo yes I really should start using a slow cooker! You're so welcome, Shell :)
Everyone in bed... except us❣
Aww. I totally thought I was alone when it comes to cookie burnout. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone.
Your channel has helped me so much with my new home bakery business!!
I’m so glad!! 💕💕
I love your videos you talking over with fast forward... So soothing
So glad you enjoy them!

I do it fresh ALL the time and have never had an issue! :)
I have a 100 cookies for a wedding due! And although I’m grateful and super excited I’m also very much scared lol I’m here to get tips! 😂😬😬🙌🏻🙌🏻

Beautiful recipe !Those cookies look so delicious Thank you for sharing
Thank you!! 💕
It’s so satisfying watching you make these. Although I’m sure it gets old quickly for the actual baker 👩🍳 😅

Just leave them completely uncovered! They won't go stale or anything overnight :)
Oh my o my, this was a JOB..stencil would have been easier but I understand u clearly were requested free hand..great job
Thanks so much!!

Oui! C'est vrai! Merci beaucoup

Lack of space is SO TRUE!!
I can relate to that part when you have to juggle between your kids and baking
How long is the dough good for when it’s frozen ? Like how long can it be frozen or refrigerated for
I have frozen the dough for a week and it's still fine though I would try to use it within 3-4 days. I've left the dough frozen for up to 3 months, but it's probably best within about 1 month :).
How do you store these cookies overnight? I don't have a dehydrator so I will have to let mine dry naturally. What is the best way to do this? Thanks!
I put mine in the oven (it’s off) because I don’t want to leave them out on the counter all night.

Will your cookie recipe spread if I use brown sugar instead because that's what my country mostly sell so will that affect the cookie
Yes-it will! The recipe works best with granulated sugar as the brown sugar causes it to melt and lose its structure
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe okay thank you I will try to get my hands on some white one

What video about drying them? I don’t see it

I would charge at least $6 for the cookies in the video.
@@julietekell4057 I’d never get any orders unfortunately. That is not the going rate in my area. $3-3.50 per cookie.
Wow so much work!💜💜
Sooooo much!! Glad I got it done 🥰
The dough has been rolled too many times. Only twice is best, right?
If I have a order for Saturday how i cam break my week for bake, decorate and packaging? Help please I don’t want my cookies be hard like a rock!
I find that my cookies are usually fine for a week. Hope that helps!
Do you use two consistencies for your pipe and flooding??

Aw thank you!
Only having 2 pans while having to bake over 200 cookies it takes FOREVER!!
Yes!! I've learned the hard way that I needed to just invest in more pans lol
Am i insane or are the cookies in etsy 30 dollars for just one...
I’ve seen some pretty vast pricing on Etsy!! Lol

I can not flood a tray like that always mess up..have to do them one by one 🤦🏽♀️
