      Thanks! 😁 I hate it when melee NPCs cannot get down a single hit. It looks totally ridiculous, so I avoid large arenas for the most part. They would give mages more of an advantage than small arenas do with melee NPCs.

      @@lSlendermaster Freya, Teldryn Sero, Serena, Brelyna maryon, Ralis Sedralis, jzargo marcurio (albeit unrelated) are just examples of the most prominently strong and interesting backstory/personality followers, alot of them dont talk about their lives but they clearly have their own roles and goals :3 Like they have their own purpose within the world and personalities to collide with that. Sure there wasnt enough time to put into fully deveolping every characters backstory and the ai is a mess but given the right positioning they are op, I often have to drop my follower off at an inn or my house so I can get the proper experience of the dungeon and max out my skills because they just mow through enemies at max level. Even when you arent killing enemies they are interactive in your adventure following you carrying your burdens and majority have unique dialogue for interacting and idle babbling when exploring. They all seem to love switching into two handed, destruction and conjuration staves (paralysis staff op)(same with duel wielders they are always the underdogs because of their low defenses and immobile heavy attacks but once they start swinging, they can have an unstoppable and bursty combo chain). Thats just my somewhat wavering understanding though. I litterally play with sven most of the time when I do have a follower(followers so op, like a summon that has its own pace but can be regeared to become epic) because hes like a nord adoring fan with his own life and backstory, has such a goofy personality and you get to see him grow out of his weakness overtime as you level up and give him op gear even if hes civilian and dosent scale high, give him a bowkit shield, staves and a pickaxe/woodcuttersaxe (appearently he will occasionally duel wield with them but Ive only seen him do it when I attack him and make him fight me) and hes the raw basics of what a follower is without sweeping and hogging all the enemies for you to not level enough. Most followers even though they could be developed more have dynamic and staple personalities and settings that have room for growth alongside the dragonborn in their journeys.

      @@hizumi8983 Ahh, I think we're talking about different things. Sorry for the misunderstanding. 😅
      I usually look for NPCs that make for interesting fights, and I don't care too much about the stories behind them. Of course, I do match quite a few depending on the lore, but it's not my priority. I try to use NPCs that are good fighters and easy to use. This doesn't apply to most followers.
      For example: Serana is incredibly buggy. J'zargo is extremely unbalanced because he has no level cap, which is generally bad news for my episodes. What makes it worse is that he almost only uses the sparks spell, so he does very little damage. At really high levels, he can take down almost any mage because they'll run out of magicka eventually, and his continuous sparks will keep them from regenerating, while the mages' terrible AI will prevent them from switching to melee.
      Fights like those usually take several minutes and are really boring to watch, and even more boring to make, so I'd rather focus on something enjoyable for public episodes.
      The majority of followers is pretty bad in their default gear, and I avoid equipping them with custom gear except for very specific episodes.
      I am planning on making an episode about Frea sometime. I can't stand stagger spam though, and I'm afraid that this will be exactly what's going to happen with her.
      I might also dedicate an episode on Ralis, and another one on Marcurio. Those will probably be normal episodes though, like most on my channel. 😅

    Cryomancer's main strength lies in his ability to slow his opponents to a near standstill, so he can only maximize his potential where there is space.
    He lost to a lot of people for the sole reason that he was up against a wall and couldn't move away anymore. I think such characters should be given more space and they will show much more impressive results, up to and including beating Vendil and Fosworn Briarheart.

      Shortly explained, UESP only lists the base damage for most NPCs, which are not the same as the final damage output. I have thoroughly tested hundreds of NPCs, including dragons, and compared them.
      The Forgemaster's breath is one of the strongest attacks in the game, doing up to 450 points of damage if it hits continuously (plus burn damage from the ground afterwards). This is equal to the frost breath damage of a legendary dragon, the strongest dragon breath in the game.
      Unfortunately, all Dwarven Centurions have huge aim issues with their steam attack, and the Forgemaster is even worse because it's related to their size. He only matches his real damage output against large targets like dragons sometimes, and even then, he misses a lot 😂

    By the by, did you scale up the Forgemaster? He looks three floors tall in this vid.

    • @lSlendermaster
      @lSlendermaster  11 месяцев назад +1

      You're completely right! That's one reason why I haven't used Cryomancers much in my battles, and why I have avoided a dedicated episode to them. The same goes for Dukaan. Although, he will be the protagonist of my next episode!
      Funny that you ask that, because the Forgemaster has two size multipliers. Long story short, they both make up for his final size, which I admittedly didn't even know until a few months ago. When you spawn him with a command, he will only have one of those multipliers, and you have to manually add the other to make him the same size as the original. Before my Woodland Spirit video, he was smaller in all of my videos, but now he's actually at the right size!
      He was also standing at one of the candles at the beginning, and the room is pretty small in comparison to him too, which makes him look even taller! 😂

      Wait, so did the scaled-down Forgemaster in your previous vids do less damage as well? I heard that the size multiplier correlates positively with damage output.

      @lSlendermaster  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@theresaurus9820 Awesome! 😎
      Yeah, unfortunately. And what you heard is correct! The scale multiplier is proportional to the physical damage done by an NPC. Warlord Gathrik is a good example: He has a scale of 1.25, making him taller and do 25% additional melee damage. If he spawns as a Dragon Priest, he will also be scaled up, but his spells' damage is not affected.
      I can relate to that! Especially with the Forgemaster, it's a very rushed fight since he surprisingly emerges from the lava. I think most players also stay at a distance from him, so it's hard to realize how tall he is.
      Here's a comparison I made: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/924728360209379368/1112455665760346162/02.jpg
