How do you like these? I have a pair of Philips SHP9600 and want an upgrade... I'm driving with a Fiio K7. These are still on sale on Amazon for 150.00 but I'm also looking at some Sennheiser cans as well.
I actually really like them a lot! the audio quality seems really good for my taste and I like the balancing of it, I'd say get them while on sale because they're definitely worth it. don't expect them to be like sundaras, they're completely different, but they still sound pretty nice. they have a nice heavy (but not too heavy) bass which contrasts well with the highs (some people say the highs are tinny, i don't quite agree), mids are pretty decent, has a nice range for frequencies as well. i'd say go for it while they're still on sale! one thing to note though, BUY A 3RD PARTY CABLE FOR THEM! the cable that comes stock is utter garbage, i don't know why hifiman still ships the cables that they do with their headphones @@jamesberryman9893
Good review. For a good closed, wood planar comparison my Sundara closed is a little more balanced than my T60RP, but the T60 has more bass impact and more image separation. The Sundara Closed has good, impactful sub bass. The Sundara closed seems to be becoming more dynamic over time. They are different enough I love having them both in my collection. NOTE: I swapped pads on my T60 with Brainwavz hybrid angled and it adds even more layering and bass punch. I also swapped the driver baffles with those from mt Fostex Dekoni Blue. This elevated the mid bass on the T60. Cheers!
Definitely the sound is more focused, no distortion, bit clearer and without sibilance. Best I've heard from you. Sundara Closed for a bit more bass? No, thanks I'll keep my opened ones, no need to lose soundstage and airiness. But always a pleasure to follow your opinions! Have a great week, my friend!
I got Hifiman to sell me the pad rings for the Sundara Closed (different from the OG pad ring) and swapped with Brainwavz Hybrid Angled pads and it made imaging more 3D sounding. I love these headphones.
this is my first planar headphone after dt1990 and i really like the accurate imaging for this headphone, feels crisp and sharp though there is some slight sibilance due to my topping amp. i've been enjoying watching movie and gaming with it, especially for r6 siege which heavily emphasis on sound clues/details. the only actual negative for this headphone so far is the earpad clips. they looked extremely fragile.
Was very curious to hear your take on these. Most people don't enjoy the closed because the comparison with the open back Sundara. The old cliche with "planar drivers don't perform good closed" was recited over&over again. I can see not all criticism was exaggerated. Anyways, even Hifiman can try things without nailing it every time! Great review, man, was expecting this!👍👍
The Audeze Maxwells are closed back and they are supposedly the best gaming headset you can get. I really don’t get the point of open back headphones because it defeats the purpose of headphones being for private listening

Started shooting in 10-bit DCI, Chroma 4:2:2 and a better mic is recording my voice, hopefully you can see and hear that ;)
Nice
There are no long vowels in "SUNDARA".
i just got these on sale at a price of $150 usd from amazon, can't wait for them to arrive!

Super cool mod, thanks for sharing it will us! 🤝
I'm looking everywhere for those ring, do you have any tips on how to get them? I love how they sound but the earpads are too small for me.
@@CesarAnton you have to email Hifiman. They set it up and get them out quick.
How did you convince them!!!!!???? what magical words did you use?

Regarding the color, every picture I've seen makes the cups look orange. Would you say these are more orange in color or more of a tan?
Hi Gage, I'm color correcting all my videos to match Kelvin 5600 - the sunlight, meaning that what you see in this video is close to the real thing.

Starcraft 2 merch... You deserve my support for life
Thank You very much!
Thank you!
How is Sundara on Shanling M7?
Is there any reason that you dont review ZMF headphones?
They don't loan headphones to European reviewers.
@@Soundnews they should :)
I'm really curious about these two reviews :
Ananda NANO
Aria ORGANIC
Ananda nano were bad. Thin sounding and slightly muffled.

Why do RUclipsrs say "Price Point" instead of "Price", and "Merch" instead of "Merchandise"?
Because price point indicates a band/bracket and not a single value. No idea for merch.
@@lawrencewang3327 Wow! I understand it now. I thought it meant at this price and that people were trying to be hip! Thanks Lawrence. God Bless.
Hard to place planar loudspeakers against a wall and expect good sound. Needs more massaging, as this manufacturer always does. That's a good thing.
