    Impedance is only one thing related to power, the other is sensitivity. Low impedance headphone doesn't necessarily mean its easier to drive if the sensitivity is below 98 dB/mv. Impedance is how much power it allows into the headphone and sensitivity is how loud that headphone with that amount of power hence dB/mv. And Planar are usually power hungry by nature (there are some exception ofc).

    Well, I was thinking about getting these and ended up buying them. I just ordered them at 150. I have a sound blaster G6 and I listen to a mix of music and play games. I have the HD6XX as well and like the sound of them and I just want differe t experiences right now. I am looking forward to getting these in the mail. I have been using mobile/blutooth headphones for a while and what got me started on wanting better quality sound was when I landed on the momentum 4s. I will come back once I have an update with the hifiman sundara closed backs. Over all I ha e been watching a lot of your stuff recently to lean as well as other channels. You have helped he avoid getting far more expensive stuff. I am sure the G6 will do wonderful for these as well. I hope. Keep up the awesome content.

Please don't let that stop you, you really helped me throughout my headphone purchases for me and my friends. @@myquietreviews I don't feel you should not buy a headphone that doesn't sound good or normal in general even if all you need is imaging. That's just stupid. It's like buying a monitor where the colors would be all fucked up but it's 500hz, as if that would redeem it. Gamers deserve good audio quality too. If it sounds good for music, it sounds good for games so trusting those music focused reviewers is fine.
      That said, I have not tried these closed backs. The regular sundara is great.

      Maybe for the price they're as good as closed backs get though, I don't know what the competitor would be. I just know that budget open backs blow those out of the water. Dunno how this compares.

    For a $400 headset that now cost $150, if you pair it with the SteelSeries game dac Gen 2 you would get the best console gaming headset. The game dac Gen 2 is the only amplified game dac that can be used with next generation consoles and if it’s good enough to drive the Sundara’s on PC it will definitely drive the Sundara closed backs on consoles

    If you want a hidden gem in headphones, check out the denon AH-D7200. They are superior for the price. They are semi-closed and have the best of both worlds (open/closed headphones). Insanely deep bass and good soundstage too. They are fun for music (best bass I've ever heard, very good detail and also good soundstage) and best for immersive (bass) and also competitive gaming (imaging). You can also listen to them all day and they don't tire at all, very pleasant highs.

    Interesting to see the Sundara coming out in a closed back 🤩🤯! Very premium looking headphone. Pricin* seems fair for what’s on offer. 50k though…… no one’s gonna take advantage of those frequencies 🙄. Bit of a “chest beat” imo.

  • @Destinylover14
    @Destinylover14 Год назад +3

    i think it would be beneficial for you to expand you knowledge about the headphone worlds, such as frequency range is a more on paper thing, impedance isn't the only factor when it comes to powering headphones, slanted earpads are not really for comfort but to angle the drivers more to your ears, it may also be a good idea to look at headphone frequency response graphs, i think it could add to your reviews.

    • @garethg8226
      @garethg8226 Год назад +2

      The only thing is that most of his subscribers would not be too interested in frequency graphs. All they want to know is if a headphone/headset is good for hearing footsteps.
      I comment on other video's that most of that is to do with a game's sound design and nothing to do with how a headset sounds.

      I get this type of comment a lot across many products. But when I started my channel I told myself I will always base my channel off a daily user/consumer view not an over filled spec/company view.
      There are many many many, so dang many channels that do that, they are great sure, but again thats just not what I personally enjoy watching, never really did, and still do not.
      Don't take this as me being rude, but as a content creator the biggest area I think we should focus on is being US/YOU, not what sells, or generates #'s.

    These are starting to get into audiophile territory. Sundaras are going to sound better than ANY gaming brand headset but i would recommend using an amp/dac combo with them to get the best sound. I have a pair of Sundaras and Sennheiser HD 560s and i prefer the Sennheiser's for gaming you should review those! And the Sennheiser are much cheaper. Sundaras have a lot of bass and in game like COD and Valorant when you have a lot going on they drown out important sound cues.

    They are only $150 not $400. I am pretty sure if he thought the sound was worth $400 like he said they are even better at $150 and better than the Maxwells at $300. I am going to get the Sundara closed back and pair it with my Game dac Gen 2. I saw a video of the Arctis nova pro wired and the guy said his Sundara’s sound great paired with the game dac Gen 2 but I am not sure if he has the open back Sundara’s or the closed back. The open back Sundara’s cost $300 and a lot of people say they are better than the Audeze Maxwells but it’s hard to compare a open back headphone to a closed back headphone. The Sundara closed back is more comparable to the Maxwells and with a dac amp the Sundara closed back should sound better than the Audeze Maxwells because the Maxwells are wireless. I heard the Maxwells sound better when plugged into a dac amp than when used wirelessly but the Maxwells cost double the price and you have to be paying at least $100 more because they are wireless
