Thanks for the video, down to you I raked in some well earned cash just now. I have just finished a successful 10 mission run that included 3 'incidents', one where a security ship wanting to scan me when on my way, last mission just finishing and a pirate attempted to intervene but I QD'ed away. Third incident was the scariest, a 30k when on the terminal at CRU-L4 but thankfully with the ship stowed all was well. In all I had 42 containers from the 10 ships (2 extra Etam boxes) and the boxes sold at the station netted 1,059,000 credits and back at Lorville sold the 10 Quant boxes for 251,500. The whole 10 missions were completed in 45 minutes (including the 30k) and netted 1,310,730 so a clear 1 million profit. Thank you again for the video as I would not have believed I could earn this sort of money.

I think 10 is a safe number if you have the balance to do it. 5 is safe but 10 is comfortable and now you know it's possible, you can rinse and repeat :) That Jump is well within reach now.
With this being the meta for credits farming, it's pretty hard to find an outpost or station to sell everything in one go. Or finding a station that buys it at all, because it has no demand, as there are already 4 Hercules bros parking outside.

That QT bug can be avoided if you move the cursor away from the target before the cooldown completes. Then move it back on target and you save time instead of turning it off/on and waiting for it to spool again.
With the timed personal salvage missions, always assume the amount of time you actually have is about half the original timer. I've seen security show up 15 mins early too often. An alternative place to sell at a no questions asked terminal is the salvage yards on moons, like Brios Breaker Yard on Daymar. Much less chance of getting scanned. The terminal is usually in the central building of the yard.
Thanks for the video. I tested this out yesterday. Did 4 back to back. On the 1st I totally screwed up my approach and smacked into a Cat with my MSR. The Cat spun at what looked like 1000rpm! I did what any sensible person would do, I shot it. In the middle. Till it blew up. It stopped spinning, I EVA'd out and collected the 4 SCU of cargo :). On the 3rd I took too long, awkwardly parked, some one turned up and started shooting, I assume it was NPC, but I was back in the pilots seat at this point and just jumped away, timer was under 20 mins but over 15 IIRC. 2nd and 4th were much less eventful and I sold the goods without being disturbed. Nice way to add some aUEC to the coffers for a solo Miner/Salvager.
Oh the joys of a spinning cat in space. I think what is most impressive in those situations is our resolve and determination to collect the cargo regardless of the nausea and time it takes lol
Why don’t you scan before boarding? (Oops, just got to that bit) I’d only add that you’ll want to get reasonably close (within 3Km) to get decent signal strength (visible on the left bar on the scanning HUD) to reveal details of cargo.
Scanning also just seems to be bugged for salvage contracts though. I've had contracts before where scans from within 300m showed no cargo but once I opened up the ship it was almost full.
A stationary wreck in space makes no logical sense. A wreck should have some kind of spin or direction. Part of the missions should be stabilizing with a tractor beam.
It works incredibly well. Yesterday after losing one run of 4 missions due to an invisible asteroid (rip cutlass motors), I managed to do more than 800k in an hour and a half with other run of 9 missions. I would avoid the starfarer missions (the doors don't open fully and you have to pass the boxes through the front corridor is very tedious). There is still room for improvement, changing the cutlass's quantum engine and having a bit of luck with the location of the missions. In any case, the ideal is to limit yourself to doing about an hour of missions and thus reduce the 30k errors and other problems of the verse . I hope in a future cig improve these missions with pirate ships guarding the damaged ship and even guards inside the ship, thus avoiding monotony and making it a bit more difficult and interesting. Like and thanks a lot for you content ;)
I take a salvage claim and I like taking the 50K claims from the general side. MUCH less risk of getting shot at or getting a crime stat. And no real time limit. 50K gets me a salvage claim on an M2 Herc. First I head out in my M2. Last run I got 39 SCU of Bexalite and 11 SCU of Gold. Each are worth about 7K aUEC.
A 50K salvage claim for a C2 Herc just paid me just shy of 4.7M in about the same length of time it took you to hit those 3, 30K claims. Scanned the ship, it had 52 SCU of Maze in the cargo hold.
@@UndisputedNoobs I don't like taking missions or claims from the Personal list. I prefer to avoid being shot at. From a 50K salvage claim I can usually expect 20 to 50 SCU of top tier product like Gold. If it's in a location with good visibility, after hauling off the cargo in my M2, I can return in my Vulture for some nice leisurely hull scraping to net about another 100K or so.

If you have free cargo space you can make a little extra by also stripping guns from those ships, size 5 laser cannons sells for 3.2k at ship weapons stores
HOW DO YOU UNLOCK THE 30K MISSIONS??????? by doing legal salvage missions or by doing the 10k risky salvage missions no one mentions this and its so annoying i can not figure it out
Yes you do legal salvage first u til you lock the 50k and then the 30k will be available in your personal tab. (50k savage is the same as 30k personal but the 30k is timed)
if you have the money but no good ships for cargo, the connie andromeda rental on Hurston pays for itself with one 30k mission and then some. ~80k for 24 hours rental
Ive just tried this, i chose a starlifter and a hammerhead, both 30k investment. Sadly both turn out to have only one box of neon, the rest was a mix of food, spirits and scrap metal. Not sure i'll be doing this further, they must have changed the cargo on the wrecks to stop this.
You can, only there is a change that pirates will be waiting as there is no protection which is why I considered for the video - it was a little further but also a little safer.
So it has to be a contract you pay for? I have access to the 250,000 Hammerhead contract. So I went out there in my SRV to make dome quick grabs. I learned about this and after doing 6 or so I found 0 cargo in any of the ships. So does this still work and am I just doing this wrong? Would be nice to grab Quant boxes during the runs.....
the clean up and the risky contracts are different. the clean ups are only good with either the vulture or reclaimer as you only get the money if you fully scrap the ship. the risky ones are the missions with the cargo and as you could probably tell by the dating of this video it is an old version of the game. they have since nerfed the crates that spawn as to now only have low price stuff and occasionally altrucatoxin (which is illegal cargo). hope this helps!
You might want to mention you will get a crime stat when you show up at a site and the cops are there. It’s only a quarter crime so if you quick find a terminal and pay it you’re back in the game.
How do you think itll take to mutli-tool salvage the first few missions? never did a salvage mission so I don't know if you have to do a full ship or what
did they change that? Tried mutliple starlifters, cutlass, and 400i and barely made what i payed for the contracts... never found maze, only small amounts of neon
Wait till ya get some 50000 missions with Hercules C2 to loot. One ship I did today had 6mil of maze in it. Jackpot. Ya need a C2 or similar large cargo ship to put those containers on.
If he really tried, he could sound like Frankie Jokes aside I’ve done the 30k missions and after you complete the trial contracts or whatever. You can get the end game contracts in less than 2 hours and you’ll get some of the most expensive cargo. I’ve done plenty of 7 mill runs after like an hour of stealing the cargo. There’s no way this is intended it is by FAR the best money making loop. Get yourself a quick quantum engine so your jumps are fast and this will vastly speed up the process. And an A1 for storage :)

They used to be but not anymore since it was nerfed into the ground, for the rhino you can get around 3k per gun but considering the space that each one takes up, and that they don't snap onto the cargo grid, it's not worth the risk
theyre worth 3.5k each for size 4s. so youll get something like 20k for a hammerhead. but it takes more time to do that. its more efficient to just get cargo, leave, do another salvage, repeat. (also carrying weapons in ship is dangerous, i had too many and they gltiched around and my ship exlpoded)
Me and my friends cant seem to get the 30k missions to spawn, we have already done some risky missions but all we get are the 10k ones, what do i need to do different for this?
brother the videos good but you are a bit quiet. dont be scared to crank your input audio up a bit we can always turn you down to 1% but we cant turn you up to 200%
good video. I think cig should correct this problem. Players should complete the mission by taking cargo, weapons and components. When the mission is abandoned it activates again and another user arrives and does not find cargo, this is very bad. I think it will be fixed with the reputation system, there will not be able to abandon the missions or leave HH or Caterpillars at level 0 or 1.
I brought the containers on station, but NQA terminal is not letting me to sell the cargo? there are red lock signs on every item in my ship cargo. Can anyone advice what to do?
Im just starting off. I just realized all the ship components( power sources etc.) Can be stripped and sold for 2-5k a piece. Now im racking up bounties and all the stuff i can cram in my titan avenger. Still trying to figure out how to sell it all. I got a container thats always got a lock symbol on it. IDK what that means
@@josiahrea2481 it takes a little getting used to, also with the size difference. This will become more apparent soon as they are bringing much bigger cargo ships. The system needs some TLC but overall it's not too bad. I'll make a video talking about it. Great topic.
I have done this with some success, however the salvage wrecks never appear in the same location and have to travel around 26mil km to pick up each box, is there something I have not done in my attempts?
How do I get better risky salvage jobs? Do I actually have to salvage the whole ship in 30 min? If I abandoned it it still shows as complete in history but I get no better ones
You don't need to salvage the risky ship. You can take the general salvage. You would need to complete 2 of them. The first 1k ship can be done with a hand salvager but will take a while and about 50 canisters. The second you are better finding someone with a vulture.
30k are ok because your ship will be stored at your home location. So wherever you first started the game and called home - just go there are make sure you are retrieving your ship and not claiming it. CLAIM will = lose cargo. Then once retrieved just take it to sell - if you have Quant you can go direct to the TDD and sell that first :)
I tried like 5 of the 30K "risky" salvage runs, and got either no cargo or a few SCU of crap every time. I don't think I have the 50K regular runs unlocked though, is that some kind of weird pre-requisite despite the 30K riskies being available to me?
@@thibagon You can borrow/steal someone else's Vulture, or you can buy a Reclaimer in-game if you want to do it with your own ship. You can also steal an NPC Reclaimer if you have nobody to borrow from and don't want to try to steal a player ship. Realistically though I see abandoned Vultures around all the time that nobody cares if you swipe, and if you just ask nicely in global chat someone will lend you one. The only downside to borrowing/stealing a ship is that if you want to make money off all that scraping you have to transfer the RMC to your own ship, and you can't sell for best price at TDD.
If you have the 30k risky then you have the 50k Normal. They are the same contracts but the risky is 20k less money with a 30 minute time limit. I've found loot spawns are better on the risky than the normal.
@@thibagon Steal one from the AI, ask a player to borrow one, or hand tool borrowed SCU containers will be classed as stolen so you wont get as much so keep that in mind but it lets you finish those missions
For some reason the catterpiller is empty alot for me. Hammerhead is 100% everytime. Starfarer is hit or miss. Wish i could get hammerhead everytime. Tired of getting ripped off on the cat
LMAO I did this while stealing those box. while doing this I never realize the security scanning my ship and suddenly just fade to black and I endup in klescher
they changed em to 50k, tried one and no cargo spawned, so i did another and again nothing spawned so i did another got the cargo and my game crashed and i did it again again got my cargo and my ship elevator killed my, i lost 200k from rng and glitches...
Twice I've taken cats and twice they have been empty fyi only cats have done this so far but I did get a few ships with 5 containers instead of 4 to make up for it I guess
I went to cru 4 (i think) same as one in this vid. Went to the locker room, opened the ship that i used to do the salvage in and the monitor doesn’t display anything on my ship.

Yeaaa.....I think I'll just do the whole mission and take the cargo as a plus. People going to these missions and snagging cargo but leaving the hull untouched is literally the reason why they nerfed the cargo spawn rate. If we do things as intended, everyone is happy. The moment we start making cuts is when we ourselves get cut. Get the Vulture/Reclaimer and just do the job is what i say. It's mind boggling the amount of lesser intelligent people complaining about salvage missions being bugged because they buy a $50k contract, go there in their little cargo ship and get pissed at the fact that there's no cargo lol..Then they have the audacity to leave the wreck sight and say it's bugged....I'm almost embarrased 2nd hand by their stupidity..😬
You would need to complete a 10k one first. Everytime you complete the higest available the next level shows up - 30k personal / 50k normal is the max.

The planet based scrap yards buy everything at a better price. Samson &Sons, Reclaimation on Orinth (or whatever the same is)

Can anyone link a tutorial for salvage for users who DON'T have 500 ships at their disposal? Perhaps for people who only have a crappy starter ship?

Has it been nerfed? I'm finding that the 30,000 missons arent always available.
Me and my friends cant seem to get the 30k missions to spawn, we have already done some risky missions but all we get are the 10k ones, what do i need to do different for this?
are you finishing them by scraping the hull till the bar drops

brother the videos good but you are a bit quiet. dont be scared to crank your input audio up a bit we can always turn you down to 1% but we cant turn you up to 200%

good video. I think cig should correct this problem. Players should complete the mission by taking cargo, weapons and components. When the mission is abandoned it activates again and another user arrives and does not find cargo, this is very bad. I think it will be fixed with the reputation system, there will not be able to abandon the missions or leave HH or Caterpillars at level 0 or 1.
sometimes i get the starlifter salavge mission or it needs to be the hammerhead for this method to work ?

I brought the containers on station, but NQA terminal is not letting me to sell the cargo? there are red lock signs on every item in my ship cargo. Can anyone advice what to do?
you have to go to the red terminal that is showed in the video, not the admin terminal.

Im just starting off. I just realized all the ship components( power sources etc.) Can be stripped and sold for 2-5k a piece. Now im racking up bounties and all the stuff i can cram in my titan avenger. Still trying to figure out how to sell it all. I got a container thats always got a lock symbol on it. IDK what that means

actually, you need to ask someone for vulture and you going to need to complete literally 2 salvage missions to open 50k

@@josiahrea2481 it takes a little getting used to, also with the size difference. This will become more apparent soon as they are bringing much bigger cargo ships. The system needs some TLC but overall it's not too bad. I'll make a video talking about it. Great topic.
14:29 seems that you need to be really close, to get an accurate scan on the ship.
I cannot see any 30k mission, but I do have 50k available. Are we gucci, or do I have to grind further to unlock them?
If you see the 50k then you have the 30k. The 30k are in the personal tab though and not the same ones with the 50k

I have done this with some success, however the salvage wrecks never appear in the same location and have to travel around 26mil km to pick up each box, is there something I have not done in my attempts?

How do I get better risky salvage jobs? Do I actually have to salvage the whole ship in 30 min? If I abandoned it it still shows as complete in history but I get no better ones
You don't need to salvage the risky ship. You can take the general salvage. You would need to complete 2 of them. The first 1k ship can be done with a hand salvager but will take a while and about 50 canisters. The second you are better finding someone with a vulture.

How do 30ks and cargo hauling work? I'd love to haul soke crago but dont want to lose it to a 30k.
30k are ok because your ship will be stored at your home location. So wherever you first started the game and called home - just go there are make sure you are retrieving your ship and not claiming it. CLAIM will = lose cargo. Then once retrieved just take it to sell - if you have Quant you can go direct to the TDD and sell that first :)

I use my M2 for this kind of missions. But I can only do one mission (without bugs). When I leave the ship I can’t do anything

I tried like 5 of the 30K "risky" salvage runs, and got either no cargo or a few SCU of crap every time. I don't think I have the 50K regular runs unlocked though, is that some kind of weird pre-requisite despite the 30K riskies being available to me?
yes you have to unlock the 50k ones before you start getting box's in the 30k ones

@@thibagon You can borrow/steal someone else's Vulture, or you can buy a Reclaimer in-game if you want to do it with your own ship. You can also steal an NPC Reclaimer if you have nobody to borrow from and don't want to try to steal a player ship. Realistically though I see abandoned Vultures around all the time that nobody cares if you swipe, and if you just ask nicely in global chat someone will lend you one.
The only downside to borrowing/stealing a ship is that if you want to make money off all that scraping you have to transfer the RMC to your own ship, and you can't sell for best price at TDD.
If you have the 30k risky then you have the 50k Normal. They are the same contracts but the risky is 20k less money with a 30 minute time limit. I've found loot spawns are better on the risky than the normal.

borrowed SCU containers will be classed as stolen so you wont get as much so keep that in mind but it lets you finish those missions

For some reason the catterpiller is empty alot for me. Hammerhead is 100% everytime. Starfarer is hit or miss. Wish i could get hammerhead everytime. Tired of getting ripped off on the cat

No it stays there, I think the timer still counts until the security arrives but you won’t see it

Accept the 1k mission (without a Vulture, it'll be a loss) after a few of those the better missions will come along.

You can steal a vulture by cancelling those 10k contracts and waiting around for a vulture to appear and finish salvaging. It's an npc ship

they changed em to 50k, tried one and no cargo spawned, so i did another and again nothing spawned so i did another got the cargo and my game crashed and i did it again again got my cargo and my ship elevator killed my, i lost 200k from rng and glitches...

You can sell it at any of the 4 main planets. When you are in the TDD ( the trade terminal)

Which shop are you trying to use and what is in the containers. You can normally see what’s on board looking even if you can’t sell them
I went to cru 4 (i think) same as one in this vid. Went to the locker room, opened the ship that i used to do the salvage in and the monitor doesn’t display anything on my ship.
First one i did was a caterpillar but no boxes inside 2nd one also no boxes :(

It is, you would either need to hand slavage or borrow a ship if you don’t own one. Hand savaging is possible but very time consuming

Yeaaa.....I think I'll just do the whole mission and take the cargo as a plus. People going to these missions and snagging cargo but leaving the hull untouched is literally the reason why they nerfed the cargo spawn rate. If we do things as intended, everyone is happy. The moment we start making cuts is when we ourselves get cut. Get the Vulture/Reclaimer and just do the job is what i say. It's mind boggling the amount of lesser intelligent people complaining about salvage missions being bugged because they buy a $50k contract, go there in their little cargo ship and get pissed at the fact that there's no cargo lol..Then they have the audacity to leave the wreck sight and say it's bugged....I'm almost embarrased 2nd hand by their stupidity..😬

You would need to complete a 10k one first. Everytime you complete the higest available the next level shows up - 30k personal / 50k normal is the max.
