    While it is true that you don’t need to go to college to learn business. You can read books yourself. You can read books for any other majors too such as engineering and don’t need to go to college. You will need a lot of discipline to do that. However, no one would hire you or give you a chance if you said you learn business on your own and never go to college to save money.

    True , a business degree program in itself is far too general of an education to ever match the tuition expense or it's influence in the job market. It's only real function is to pierce the barrier of entry to gainful employment. The applicable skills or knowledge it affords is irrelevant -- simply owning it is what matters. It's the access code into the atrium level.

    I personally think getting a Business Administration degree is a great idea, but you should get a second degree with it or at least minor.

    Love this video, the only thing I will say as an adult watching your video is Job related experience matters. I’ve been working in Medical insurance (Healthcare) for over 10 years. I am looking to advance my career related to my industry & I need my business degree to do so. Job related experience is a MUST in any industry.

    which degree do you recommend ? Im interested in either business or health science? pros of why I want to major in business: ill learn valuable skills like accounting and I would like to become a an accountant , perhaps a financial advisor later on. pros of why I want to major in health science, I'm passionate about health. I enjoy learning about body anatomy. A bit about my self I'm a hermit. I don't like working with other people. Im definitely an introvert.

    So I definitely chose business because I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. And I've had many different business jobs and I realize that I hate business jobs and I really want to do something else. And even with a bachelor's degree the most I can usually make is 20 an hour which isn't enough when you're living on your own. Is this degree transferable into other careers? I tried teaching but it wasn't for me either there was a huge lack of support and direction. I want to do something else but I'm not sure I really feel like my degree was kind of a waste. I'm more of a creative individual not a business sales person.

    Yeah, but when has this ever not been the case, though?
    You were never supposed to go to college to get "hands on experience" that's the job of the work you're supposed to get post-college.
    And I think jobs also want certification, not just your experience, you could have experience, but they want to see certification that proves a formal education occured, anyone could walk up to a job an say I have this much years of experience, but certs are what's the deal.
    If you are already within the job of a specific company, and they see your work experience firsthand as you naturally climb the ladder, even without certs, which I think would be harder without certs anyway, that's a different story, sure, but entrywise, you still need certs.
    That's why I've never appreciated or bought the "you don't need degrees" arguments, sure some very few and specific jobs may not require it, but you're often far better off with it than without, just my take. Feel free to correct or disagree, I want to know your further thoughts on it.

    • @aly2833
      @aly2833 2 года назад +2

      @@TheeOfficialSmiley well his first couple jobs when he was barely out of school were in marketing, he moved into finance because people were hiring and he found that he liked the work and the pay. I can tell you that marketing itself is not hard to keep up with, but you are likely to start off with a low salary of about 50 grand in the US and how much you succeed from that point on depends on whether you can land promotions and whether or not you use your experience to land jobs that are looking for more experienced marketing people. I will say that from the statistics and what ive heard from marketing people it can be pretty enjoyable as a job but the way we market things has changed so rapidly (social media) that a lot of what youre taught in a school no longer applies. And the bureau of labor statistics lists that out of all business pathways marketers start off earning the least so take that into account

      I’m thinking about going to a university after my two years at community college. At my local university, Jackson state university in Jackson Ms; they offers a business administration degree major with a focus in entrepreneurship. This Degree path might be an idea major and concentration when deciding yourself.
