Not sure who needs to hear this but if you've been going through a hard time I hope things get better for you and your family .keep your head up and stay blessed. You're still here for a reason.
Love all of this.... I did the same thing in 2013-2014 I quit my Medical Coding job and went to a bootcamp and when i graduated I looked for positions that were in the healthcare field dealing with IT positions.. my first job was 6 months after graduation June 2014. now its 2022 and I am working as a goverment contractor in DHA as a project manager... DONT GIVE UP GO FOR IT is my advice... Yah Bless!
The irony I get out the government career (military) because I was being denied of an IT opportunity. I guess, in due time this MS in Cybersecurity will pay off
One important tip when updating your resume for a career transition is to tailor it to the specific job you're applying for. Research the desired skills and qualifications for the new role and emphasize how your previous teaching experience aligns with them. You've got this!
My husband is in tech and he loves It. My local community college is offering an IT program with a concentration in Cloud computing. The core classes focus on Linex, Python etc. I was going to study nursing but this seems more appealing. Plus, I've never met anyone in tech who is unhappy.
@@iiTrendyz thank you. I’m back on study for my course. I even was told I should do something else because I have no tech experience but I’m listening to me.
I know a small handful of nurses who were originally in IT, but I know a LOT of nurses who keep thinking about getting into tech. Nursing gave me a lot of opportunities but also a lot of PTSD and physical stress, so go IT.
OMG I started watching Self Made Millenial too and thanks to her I’ve not only moved on to the final stages of my interview process for a company I was rejected for months ago but I was actually considered for two positions in the organization…. She is amazing!
Great video! As a former teacher myself, I can totally relate to these mistakes. It's so important for educators transitioning into new careers to be aware of these pitfalls. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for addressing these mistakes head-on. It's refreshing to see someone discussing the challenges teachers face when transitioning careers. Your video provides valuable guidance and encouragement. Keep up the excellent work!
Just found your page thank you so much for this! And the people in the comments as well! I recently completed my Google Data Analytics cert and was starting to get discouraged with all the rejection letters I was getting for supposed entry data analyst roles. But I’m gonna be kind to myself and give myself some time and focus on creating more projects to showcase what I know! Rome wasn’t built in a day. I’m seeing people saying it took them 5/6 months to get a job and it’s only been a little over two months. Here’s to keeping the momentum and not giving up!
Great video, one of the ways I got a job with no experience was by creating a video, that made me stand out from the crowd, and they felt like they knew me before I even turned up to the interview!

Imani's advice is on point with the advice she's giving on reviewing the JD, telling your career story, and most importantly -- practice, practice, practice for those interviews!
