I am 16 years old and I want to cry. I feel confusion in choosing my university major from now. I love art, dancing, acting and singing, but it is a hobby that I cannot study at university. I want a university degree that will give me some money so that I can develop myself in becoming an artist. I also love agriculture and I love the environment. Nature and mechanics, but everyone says that these functions are useless
Your love for nature and agriculture isn't useless, infact there are majors such as environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability and the likes which pays well and are expected to grow. Do your research on those and see if it fits.
for dance acting singing you could consider being a trainer or kinesiology help people get back from their injuries so they can get back to what they love. For agriculture their is so many areas of ag that need help I suggest looking into ag marketing and sales.

I fear of making the wrong decision but watching this video has eased my mind and now i can move forward. I’m wishing you happiness and success.
An advice from someone completely unexperienced : Choose a major that will match your vibes, your skills and your interest. You don't have to force yourself into becoming a doctor just because they get paid more, all you need to do is continue with your dream. Don't worry about your major, your major isn't the only thing you can do in life. You can always change paths, just because you choose engineering it doesn't mean you should be an engineer. Well people choose majors that would match the job they want ofc but sometimes choosing a major is just for more experience, not a certain line you should follow your whole life. Calm down and Don think about negative things, it's all abt experience. You don't have to go to college right after graduating from high school, you can go whenever you're ready. Extra : If you're dreaming abt being a flight attendant like me,the best majors most people recommend are nursing, tourism and communications. I have no specific reasons why nursing is recommended but most people say you're most likely to be accepted if you chose nursing, maybe because accidents can happen too. Tourism, for me is very important, when on a plane or airport, you would most likely deal with people with different nationalities and personalities having experience with learning other languages would be greater, a well physique mind is recommended. Communications is as well important, being a flight attendant requires you to have great communicating skills cause your main job basically is to communicate and check on people and as i said, you could deal with people with different or annoying personalities- However, not choosing these majors doesn't mean you have no chance of being a flight attendant,no! Continue your dream and follow the beat of your life. This is the end, well goodbye!!
I was feeling so anxious last night because I had no clue what to major and I thought I was doomed because I am a Sophomore this year. But I'm so glad I saw your video, I think I have a better idea now and overall more calmed. Thank you for this video, I feel much better now :)
I had careers in engineering, education, and consulting, as well as writing, and personal investing. I agree with some of her comments. While many students change majors, I feel that your first major choice is important. If, for example, you are trying to decide between education, forestry, and engineering (assuming you kind of like them all like I did), the best first choice is engineering. Why? Because it is easier to drop down to a less mathematical major if you change your mind than if you start with a less mathematical major and want to move up. When she talked about graduate school, she implied that taking a major that would build up your GPA was more important than what the major was. She used medical school and law school as examples. She uses the two fields where that is mainly true. However, if you want to go to graduate school in almost any other field, you need to have substantial undergraduate work in those fields (e.g., sciences, engineering, humanities, and others). I noticed in her presentation she never mentioned engineering. I believe engineering majors are actually the best majors to take if you want to have a broad background and be qualified for the most jobs.
This vid reminds me of when I kept changing my intended major during hs like every yr and each yr I’d center my schedule based off of that. Thankfully I’ve always loved stem (just never had a field in mind I loved) but now as a senior I’ve settled on neuroscience (bc I found my forte in bio and psych) which is smt freshman me would never thought of doing lmao. I’m going on the pre med track but tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if I change my major again haha. Thank you for this vid Angelica 💕 i admire your humble and honest personality 😃
Thank you for this video!! Since the longest, I’ve always been told that I need to know what I want to be and that when you change your major, you have wasted your time spent on the one you chose before. This made me fear choosing the right major. Now I see how less intense it really is to choose a major!!

Amazing! I'm also a business major, I chose this because I've so many interest and business included everything BUT as you've said you are not going to enjoy every single class! I'm struggling with accounting, finance, math/stats I hate these classes and sometime even regret my choice. I've huge interest in marketing because of psychological aspect so sometime I think what if I had chosen Psychology instead of Business? But still no hate to business, some classes are depressing me. I'm more like a theory/research person who loves to learn about behaviours and brain that's why it hits my mind every single day that i would have chosen psychology, but I'm glad Marketing is all about psychology and its cool to predict human buying behaviours and decision patterns.
your comment just helped me decide my pivoting direction.. i want to combine business and psychology somehow as I am interested in both. I do tend to gravitate towards human behavior more over the other math like classes although I can see how numbers would be important in the business side of things. I don't think it's something I can avoid but if I can I think we should BOTH look into it.
Ahh thanks and you are right we can't totally ignore math but marketing is more about psychology, human behavior and creativity that's what I love about it.
this is all good advice ^ as a cal alum, your major really doesn’t matter that much, especially in comparison to your internship experience. what seemed to be most important for my job search (to employers) was gpa, career goals, and internship experience

Im anxious about my college GPA and my major. Also college in general. I chose physics and as of now, being two years down, have a 2.9 gpa and have to retake one class I failed. I would find relief if it turns out that what I want to do after I graduate isn’t super inhibited by my choice of major, but it may be. I also just feel lonely, like no one is in my corner, especially here. Im not really sure where to turn, so I’m kind of in a sink or swim environment. Also how intelligent does someone need to be to network? The whole networking things is rather intimidating to me, especially if they expect me to instantly and fluidly pick up skills easily and find out that I’m not very smart as a result of failing.
I started community college in 2016, i'm 24 year now. And when I first started college, I wasn't prepared, I guess I went because of the "idea" of just having a degree. Now that I've matured, I did really bad in my Political science and anthropology class which set me back at a 2.7 gpa. I graduated with a AD, but now im nervous for applying to colleges with that gpa. Trust me, I understand. It's frustrating.

Omg hi, I am currently in community college in my sophomore year undecided but thinking of getting an associate in CIS and getting a bachelor's in another field, can I ask you how was that journey?
Hi, I'm Arya Darmawan from UPN VETERANS East Java. I will share my experience, why do I want to major in environmental engineering? First, when I was in high school, I chose a major that suited me to college. My favorite subjects in high school were chemistry, biology, and math. After some time looking for majors on the internet. I found a suitable major, namely environmental engineering. Because I also dream of how to restore natural conditions that are currently being damaged. When I majored in environmental engineering, I didn't mind the lessons given. Especially with his friends who are very familiar with each other, it makes me feel more at home in this department. From semester 1 to now semester 2, the lessons I learn are easy to understand. Because the teacher teaches well. I hope that by majoring in environmental engineering, I can change the natural conditions and can change the economic situation of my family.
I'm actually going into my junior year - I've already switched my major once and I will probably be doing something management related even though my major is in marketing.
I'm leaving this comment here since I've been struggling to pick my major and it's definitely been stressing me out. Fall Registration is coming up in 3 days and I need to know the major I want to do to register. Your video was really helpful! I hope I can come back tot his comment in a few months or years to look back on it.
honestly i think the point on college majors doesnt matter only holds to a certain extent, and more true if you come from a good college / target uni. a history major from harvard would most of the time go a long way more than a gender studies major from a local state school... not saying this cus i disagree on that point but just wanna emphasise the fact that it's coming from a ucb student
I disagree with some of what has been said in the video. There are certain careers that requires a degree such as dentist, medical doctor , attorney, academic , pharmacist … so its not that you can ignore that and take a course and do it. The other thing is that it’s quite fragile to rely on faking an interview thinking that you will succeed with what the company will train you to do. People should build a solid foundation about where they want to work … accordingly they should work on building the capacity and skills that enables them to compete and secure a spot in the job market. So its not fake it till you make it. Why majoring in history carrying a student loan and wasting years in the university when then you will just suddenly decide to change your career pathway ? Thats poor planning and lack of vision from the begining . Students should consult do their own research and find out about their passions .
I'm feeling so bad and confused which path should I pick I asked my college teacher if I could stop and take my time to think and try something she thinks I'll waste a lot of time What should I do? I do think that I love studying about film, photography, writings, shows but I picked English major because it'll get me far more than the other option I'm so freaking confused
I don't know what major to choose, and I live in developing countries and choosing STEM is like having worthless degree and the other courses are not even a little bit interesting for me. I applied for abroad program, but I can't afford tuition, honestly idk what to do. please give me some advice
hi my name is ais and i'm currently majoring in environmental engineering. the first time I entered this major, I felt like it was really hard to do it because I wanted to major in health (pharmacy or nutritional science). but after i did it for almost a year, i feel like my major is not that bad. in this major I can learn more things such as socializing, organizing, time management and the other skills. I believe that these skills will be very useful when looking for a job after graduates. in reality we know that many people are work in unrelated their major degree. it means that the major are doesn't matter that much, the important things is we have to reach some experience like internship and we also have to build networking. so I don't really regret getting into a major that I didn't want because as this video says, all majors are not perfect, of course there are good and bad things.
how did u pursue a product management job as a haas major? i wanna major in haas & do pm, but most of the internships ive seen so far are looking for cs majors or a lot of cs skills!
I suggest you don’t stress too much about it, most people change their minds on what they want to major in all throughout high school, even college. It’s okay not to know right now👍
Recently I am thinking of going back to college to study part time degree as a working adult but I have 3 options which are English literature, mass communication, and business administration..this makes me really confused, frustrated and choosing one of these is really daunting task for me... Any tips?
Think about the different outcomes you will get from each of these degrees. With English Lit you will be analyzing the written word to interpret its meaning. Is this something you enjoy doing as a hobby or would you want to get paid to do that? With Mass Communication you will be helping others to more effectively communicate their message or get their point across so they can promote or advocate for their cause, product, etc. With Business Administration you will be working quite often with numbers to look for the story behind the numbers and to analyze what the numbers mean or represent. Once you know the story the numbers are revealing, this can assist you in deciding what products or services to offer others that will also allow the business or organization to make a profit. Regardless of which path you choose, keep in mind that every job meets a need, provides a service and/or solves a problem. Every job helps other people and contributes toward making the world a better place. Research the career paths you are interested in to see what kind of jobs they can lead to and then ask yourself, "Is this how I want to help others through my work?"
I wannt it law major becaz wheen I furst come frum Mexico thee furst thingz I doo is buy burrito And I sayz yo person add it cream to mi burrito and she no do..so I geet it angry and sayz I sue yu.. So i want law school studie for mee. How I do that ?
I fucking hate the European model, it does matter what you study it's so inflexible 😭 but I'm still so grateful I can study at uni, just think there's room for improvement, what do u think fellow Europeans? Also I feel like here we have 0 community, maybe my uni sucks.
Yeah, 22 hard to pick major but think about have a degree and being chosen first isn't true loll don't confuse education with intelligence, especially in tech I can say 100% that most people with comptia or CCNA certs are more qualified and can do a better job ...well… Replace you in a second even if you have a degree loll degree means nothing these days only reason I'd go is for more learning about a specific thing not for the degree this vid 3 years old but in 2024 having a bachelor's means 0 might as well not even mention it loll some people deny it, but this just because they wasted their time going to school while more naturally talented people took their jobs making money in that 4 years when you are broke loll love to see it
Im in 8th grade, i had the worst night ever yesterday bc i was thinking that i have no idea what to major in,,,,, im one who panics rly easily so Ive been researching jussttt in case n just to be prepared to avoid any extra anxious panicking during hs
Hi, my name is Afif Pratama Tris Ardiansyah. I'm an Environmental Engineering student at UPN Veteran East Java with an NPM of 21034010046. I want to share the reasons why I chose the major and university which is now. Actually, my background in Vocation hight school is electrical engineering, so at the first I wanted to continue my studies in electrical engineering. But one time I realize that electrical engineering is not my passion so I decided to find another major that I really like and want. After doing a lot of research and a lot of consideration, my choice fell on the Environmental Engineering major, and why I chose UPN Veteran East Java because I saw my tryout score was small so I chose to look for safety. But I am grateful that I was able to be student an Environmental Engineering at UPN Veterans East Java through the sbmptn route.
hello, i am salwa masahida an Environmental enginering student of UPNVJT npm 21034010084, Initially, my goal was to continue studying environmental engineering because I received a recommendation from my friend that currently a major in environmental engineering is needed, besides that environmental engineering also has broad job prospects with many graduates working in fields that are compatible with environmental engineering. therefore I am interested in studying related to the field of environmental engineering.
HOPE THIS MAKES YOU a little less stressed. don't forget to subscribe + let me know what you're interested in! timestamps will be included above!

You got this!
Ahhh you are really like our big sis !!! I love that !! Excited for more college vids
Yay!!! Awww I got u
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE VIDEO YAYYYY!!!!! KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING CAUSE YOU ARE AMAZING LOVE!!!!! REMEMBER YOU ARE AMAZING MUAH!
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!!
honestly i think the point on college majors doesnt matter only holds to a certain extent, and more true if you come from a good college / target uni. a history major from harvard would most of the time go a long way more than a gender studies major from a local state school... not saying this cus i disagree on that point but just wanna emphasise the fact that it's coming from a ucb student
This video has so much good advice! Thank you!! :)
Students should consult do their own research and find out about their passions .
so helpful!!! Thank you 🫶🏼
I’m planning to major in environmental studies or sustainability and then go on to get my MBA☺️👩🏻🎓
What job can u get with that 🤔
this was posted on my birthday last year.. its a sign!
thank you for this video!! super super helpful :))
I'm feeling so bad and confused which path should I pick
I asked my college teacher if I could stop and take my time to think and try something she thinks I'll waste a lot of time
What should I do?
I do think that I love studying about film, photography, writings, shows but I picked English major because it'll get me far more than the other option I'm so freaking confused
follow ur heart!
I don't know what major to choose, and I live in developing countries and choosing STEM is like having worthless degree and the other courses are not even a little bit interesting for me. I applied for abroad program, but I can't afford tuition, honestly idk what to do. please give me some advice
❤Thank you! Very helpful
thank you so much big sister it was really helpful

hi my name is ais and i'm currently majoring in environmental engineering.
the first time I entered this major, I felt like it was really hard to do it because I wanted to major in health (pharmacy or nutritional science). but after i did it for almost a year, i feel like my major is not that bad. in this major I can learn more things such as socializing, organizing, time management and the other skills.
Heyyy can you give me an insight on ur major
how did u pursue a product management job as a haas major? i wanna major in haas & do pm, but most of the internships ive seen so far are looking for cs majors or a lot of cs skills!
Product management is part of business not cs.
Thank you so much for this helpful video!!!
this was so helpful !!
What's like a good option if you're really anti-social ?
^^

im turninng 18 this year why does time go so fast aaaa
POV: you aren’t even 3 years away to college
you are so incredibly wonderful. amazingly talented and warming :)
thank you~~
I guess I just don’t understand how I could just get a job somewhere with a degree in something that has nothing to do with that job?
I'm 14 years old going to freshman next year for high school and my dad wants me to decide what to major right now, what should I do?
I suggest you don’t stress too much about it, most people change their minds on what they want to major in all throughout high school, even college. It’s okay not to know right now👍
You got plenty of time, you do not have to decide completely right now...

Recently I am thinking of going back to college to study part time degree as a working adult but I have 3 options which are English literature, mass communication, and business administration..this makes me really confused, frustrated and choosing one of these is really daunting task for me... Any tips?
well any updates? i am struggling with the same 3 options
I’m stuck between 2 things I’m really passionate about, and it’s KILLING ME

I also would like to do investment banking

I fucking hate the European model, it does matter what you study it's so inflexible 😭 but I'm still so grateful I can study at uni, just think there's room for improvement, what do u think fellow Europeans? Also I feel like here we have 0 community, maybe my uni sucks.
Yeah, 22 hard to pick major but think about have a degree and being chosen first isn't true loll don't confuse education with intelligence, especially in tech I can say 100% that most people with comptia or CCNA certs are more qualified and can do a better job ...well… Replace you in a second even if you have a degree loll degree means nothing these days only reason I'd go is for more learning about a specific thing not for the degree this vid 3 years old but in 2024 having a bachelor's means 0 might as well not even mention it loll some people deny it, but this just because they wasted their time going to school while more naturally talented people took their jobs making money in that 4 years when you are broke loll love to see it
Thumbs up y'all she looking extra cute today

Watching this now cause I just started junior year🥲
yay!!
i just wanna throw my life away
hello, i am salwa masahida an Environmental enginering student of UPNVJT npm 21034010084, Initially, my goal was to continue studying environmental engineering because I received a recommendation from my friend that currently a major in environmental engineering is needed, besides that environmental engineering also has broad job prospects with many graduates working in fields that are compatible with environmental engineering. therefore I am interested in studying related to the field of environmental engineering.
