Try it out and practice...takes a lot of time to get the timing right of the clutch, downshift, and blipping the throttle...just keep in mind it may not be a tool you'll need on a daily basis. For me, it's more just fun to do sometimes, not something I think about much. MotoJitsu.com
I think my quickshifter is eroding skills
If you know have to drive a car its exactly the same on a bike. Extremely simple to learn, was doing this at 17years old on a 125cc when thats all i could ride, now im on bigger bikes its exactly the same, i will say make sure you bike properly warm as if you try that after thr bikes just started you can easily lock up the back wheel through engine braking.
Ok so you can hold the brake entirely while you're downshifting even if it's a few gears?
With a truck you HAVE to do this or else it won't go into gear.
you dont have to shift gear by reaching 7,000 rpm, i would shift gears after 5,000rpm
That guy on the trike def thought you were fuqing with him
Lol I was thinking the same
Super important when changing gears from high gears to low gears and from high revs (rpm:s) to low revs (rpm:s).
Finally found a good video that shows what I was looking for, took 5 years of searching on RUclips and asked guys riding motorcycles, they didn't know how to answer the question that I was asking, thank you for this video, I already buy a honda automatic bike a few months back, I love it, but I want a manual bike like the cb500
This is really helpful as a new rider, thank you. The wind made it a little hard to hear the engine to lineup the sound with watching your shifting, but I got it for the most part. Your channel is extremely helpful and confidence inspiring.
Bro, your channel is fantastic. I will go and purchase your app as well. I used to ride a small scooter in the city for around 5 years, from when I was 20 until 25. I just got back into riding at the age of 33 with a Honda Hornet 600 ABS and I cannot mention enough how much your videos have helped me. I am on the process of arranging a motorcycle safety school as well. Cheers from Greece man, you are doing an excellent job.
@TC He definitely is!!
I smiled when the guy on the tricycle passed you. I wonder what he was thinking... Thanks for posting.
Dear moto jitsu, i use this since 2 years and i feel linear acceleration without any jetking and engine breaking .. it works 🌟 but i don't know the actual concept ( science) behind this . Iam partially aware of this technique. Thanku your videos help alotvof riders . Thanku again for your contribution to the world.
Watching from india 🇮🇳
loved your video brotha! GODSPEED
Been watching forever now. Helped a lot. Seen u jjst posted so figured u see this lol 😂
You're saving lives Bro, (and gearboxes!).
I have my first track day in april, I'm gunna practice this info before I get there, hopefully it'll help.
I am new rider and this is so helpful i was wondering what is wrong with my down shifting engine brakes so hard but now i will go out there and i will give it try thanks for sharing this inspiring information.
Thank you.
welcome
You said the rear tire may shake or even skid just releasing the clutch. I had to break and downshift quickly to avoid a deer, I have a slipper clutch on my 07 R1, and the tire never even bobbled when I went from 6th gear to first gear in about 5 Seconds. I guess I want to know is Rev matching as important with a wet assist slipper clutch?
I blip on downshift as a rule coz it sounds epic with my scorpion exhust😉👍
So I just started practicing rev matching I feel like I’m improving but I see videos were riders rev match gears back to back and looks smooth but when I do it sometimes I notice I take slower and longer to rev match between gears because if I drop from 4 to 3 the engine slows down a lot and I feel it because I kinda lunge foward it’s a rough slow down
I totally understand the philosophy. I drive tractor trailer. We call it speed shifting. Only time I use the clutch is to take off and go into reverse. 👍💯
Autoblipper. And that's why some of the people don't know how to do a revmatching. And they even don't know why it should be done. You are doing a great job for beginners 🤝.
Bro salute 🫡. Excellent information
Great video
can i practice rev match using footbrake? or the front brake
Very important for a smooth and safe ride! Especially when slippery and/ or in very active riding!😎👍☕🇦🇷🇸🇪
Does bad attempts at rev matching damage the transmission? I want to practice but I know im going to have some boo boo downshifts
I always blip the throttle and downshift. Depending on the road and if I know the road or not will depend if I throw front brakes into the equation. Plus I think rev matching is better on your drivetrain as well, same deal with cars and trucks.
Hahaha I actually grab more brake on accident while rev matching. I will continue to practice.
I got rear ended while blipping down shifting and ever since then I e found it hard to get my brain to let me do it
Lol, the intro feels like an obituary rememberance
This is the same as double clutching, which is what we used to do in older standard transmission vehicles. Right ?
Especially important during downshifting more than a single gear.
u can up shift by holding down the front brake??? meanwhile giving it a lil throttle??
You never up shift while on the brake
Wouldn’t speed up shifting be bad for the gears in the bike if you mess it up (which I’m sure would happen if im practicing)?
Not if done right
Sure not necessary just joyful and cool 😜
Sorry if this is a dumb question. But is it okay to use your break without holding down the clutch?
really depends on situation , you can break without clutch for sure if you have time to. you will still need to shift down into the right gear once your speed is down tho.
I don't understand so you delete the old video and re-upload it?
good job but it was pretty windy couldn't here the rev match ☹️
you pull clutch blip throttle while changing down.
I use my middle finger to engage the front brake.
A coach told me that it works fine that way as well.
depends mostly on how your hand is shaped.
i actually enjoy more riding my bicycle because i thought it safer and i can easily change direction anytime anywhere.....but i enjoy the brooommmm broooommm sound of my motorcycle....so i only use up to second gear so i can brooom brooommm a lot......LOL
I notice Skipp hate on certain players, for what ever reason(s) and think he’s always justified.
Isn't the effect of downshift the same when you break kick down and just release the clutch each time without rev matching
My bike almost jumped out my hands doing this the 1st time. It was a bad experience.
The hardest part is to keep constant pressure on the break while reving.
yeah, and that`s how I crashed entering a corner while I was practicing.
@@JamesZJi when is that seemless transmission from MotoGP going to triggle down to street bike? :)
You should rename this channel ‘Reuploaded’
You rev match by buying a DCT, will rec match 100% of the time and be perfect.
Am I tripping, or did you re upload this video?????
🏍️
Granny shiftin not double clutching when you should be.
I know Motojitsu doesn't always have time to look for comments and I ought to email but I'd love to see his thoughts on this ruclips.net/video/iYOAnW139zM/видео.html Japanese (?) handling time trial type thing...in heavy rain! Sure he could talk through tge skills tge riders are using - to me it's all so natural and subtle that I find it hard to spot specific things.
the japanese are crazy good at gymkhana, I believe theformat originated there, for both cars and bikes
He doesn't always reply, but I think you can contact him using that thing on his website. You should do it, I think he'd love to see this, if he hasn't already
I just saw that video... wow, it`s unbelievable. I`d wish MotoJitsu would publish a comment on that... - Thank you for the link. Greeting from Czech Rep.! 🙂
Hey this is a reupload, what gives?
If that hat was Fitted I'd have a few 🤷♂️
Going to have to come up with some new material I see. Reposting old videos is the new thing huh?
Just buy a shifter pro 😛
