    i love how absolutely original and talented you are. you pay attention to EVERY single detail and, of course it turns out absolutely amazing. the texturing, shading and such.
    also you're so precise while painting which is so satisfying to watch. i love the snow addition to the tree stump. i also think the porcelain figurine you used for the base fits him pretty well. to be exact, the face.
    loved the finished product! would definitely like to see something similarm

    I absolutely LOVE your thrift store transformations! I once found an old, dirty mirror (literally had a dead spider on it), cleaned, sanded, and primed it, then painted a peacock feather on its face, covered the "eye" of the feather will various gems: amethyst, sunstone, chrysacolla, turquoise, citrine, blue apatite, malachite, jade, among others! I painted the frame with purple, blue, and gold abstract designs (gold circles to give the impression of a peacock feather's eye on two sides), and a long, multi-colored drip of acrylic on the other two. At a thrift store, I stumbled upon two PERFECT cabinet knobs (painted sparkling blue, with various rhinestones), grabbed a very large-looped gold chain I already had gotten from a neighbor for whatever project came up, and drilled the two knobs at the top of the mirror with the gold chain underneath, to hold my new masterpiece on the wall! The back already had a working hanging bit, so I could secure it with that, then give the illusion that it was hanging by the gold chain, just by putting a clear thumbtack through the middle chain link. Oh my gosh, I still have it on my wall. I just couldn't make myself sell it. 😊

    I have to say a huge thank you to you for this. My Mam adores these vintage style Santa/Christmas statues and has a collection she adds one to every year but the past few years it’s been harder and harder to find ones in this style that don’t cost a small fortune - now I know what to do for next year! (I found her one on eBay for this year). Thanks for the idea!

    Love love love this idea. It's so awesome to see someone be so creative and recycle! Can't wait to try something like this? I see you use Super Sculpey in your videos; I sculpt with colored clay but have been curious about Super Sculpey. Is it more firm? I see it doesn't pick up fingerprints as easily as some. Looking forward to the next sculpture! Merry Christmas!

    • @aceofclay
      @aceofclay  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you! I’m glad you like it! Super Sculpey is a consistency that I really like-not too soft, not too firm. It does pick up fingerprints, you just can’t see them that well until you paint due to the translucency of the clay.

    This is my favorite transformation of all that you've done. The main reason being, it retains enough elements of the original to make me go Wow! On the other end of the spectrum would be the Bunny. While cool, the original sculpture serves no other purpose than to replace a ball of foil. With your talent, you could have achieved similar results with a perfume bottle. Thanks for the videos!!
