Katelyn, Evan… you created nightmare fuel. How can I run away from my problems with this chasing me in my dreams!?! Anyways I still love you both and forgive you… xoxo Maxximo
The reason she ripped it instead of cutting is because it doesn't cut the pile of the fur. This means no fluff mess in the air and you don't end up with blunt ends on your fur. Most people use a blade to cut the back of fur fabric to avoid snipping the pile. Love the 90s style ad and I had one of those ferby, I caught it talking in my wardrobe months after the batteries died! This is definitely one of your best creations, love how cursed it is!
Seller in fabric stores use this technique to almost all fabrics not to destroy the structure of fibers. After washing or steaming cut can become wobbly and the edge uneven.
I think sellers in fabric stores use the rip technique with almost all fabric too, but I think it's because it makes a straight line! It only works along the weft too, try it in the length of the roll and you will fail.
@@Darenim Most of the time I've bought fabric in store they have used scissors or a rotary blade to cut the fabric. I rip silk when working with that as it's much easier getting a straight line and I use a blade for fur backing. Most of the time I use a rotary cutter. Ripping can definitely save time and get straight lines, but not all fabrics will rip nicely along the grain. Also most fabric I've ordered online has been cut, not ripped.
Yeah you deal with enough fur as it is xD no need to have bonus artificial fluffies all over the place. I made this mistake before while making a fluffy pillowcase... plus as a husky parent I know the fight against the infinite floof is real.
Why do I feel that if the Nerdforge gang ends up making one, we should expect it to have a wizard hat and spell book attached to make it even more cursed? 🤔 lol
Fun fact: part of the reason Furbies seemed to be immortal/sometimes worked without batteries installed is because they had weak solar cells in the eyes to see when it was dark but also so that when the batteries died it didn't lose all its data (learned behaviors, date/time). The creators either underestimated how much sunlight the average kids' room gets or the amount of power the cells could actually provide and didn't bother isolating the power the cells provided to just the data chip. They also made the light sensors too sensitive which is what caused them to wake up at night and start speaking gibberish, which sounds very demonic to a groggy child just woken up (which i know from experience).
the fact that I, as a child, took the batteries out of a furby and watched it just keep going has freaked me out for so long, I've never trusted them, thought they were all possessed by Jinn. Thank you for explaining it finally 😭😭

Former Joann’s employee here! The reason we rip the fur/fuzzy fabrics is because if you do it correctly there should be no shedding. Unless you carefully cut only the backing, the fur tends to fly! it’s notoriously difficult to clean off other fabric. Some customers would even try to get discounts if there was fuzz on some of the fabrics. If done correctly it doesn’t take much effort and is very helpful to learn how to do if you deal with larger and longer cuts of fuzzy fabric! 8:45

As a cosplayer and Joann Employee! We actually are trained to rib faux fur as that is the easiest way to get a straight line without looking like we lost a fight with a Muppet! We typically use scissors to start the tear but we don't use them the whole way since it sheds the pile (actual furry part) which a lot of people don't like. If you want to know the easiest way to cut the faux fur into pattern pieces, use a craft knife on the wrong side. This will keep shedding to a minimum (although some shedding is inevitable with all faux fur)
To be fair, you can add "without looking like we lost a fight with a Muppet" to the end of any sentence and immediately have a comedy skit on your hands. Just make sure *that* thing isn't anywhere nearby first… (See video at top of page for more information.)

As a fursuit maker and cosplay designer I have a few things to say. Your pattern makeing was absolutely perfect! Amazing! Cutting the fur with scissors made me want to cry tho :0 If your ever working with furr again either do very short snips tight to the backing or use a blade. The reason poor Evan was choking on all the fluff is because you cut the fibers in half while cutting your pattern peices. Honestly tho cursed and perfect and I absolutely love it!!!
This is not only your best creation, it could be your best video ever. So great to see you both happy and excited for a project. Also, Austin went so over the top- all of those extra touches were amazing!
Actually in my opinion there are way more creepy owl creations then this. This is probley the most tame one and I unironly find this cute. And that's coming from me who at first was scared of 99% of odd bodies. But this one he's ok. He A good boy.
Generally you try to avoid cutting faux fur with scissors because it causes extra fibers to fly off and also makes seams much more visible when sewn. Generally people use exacto knifes cutting very gently from the back to lose the least amount of fur possible. I have seen people rip it before, but exactos are much easier.
I think Furbot turned out fantastic! I would personally give him a trim and brushing to clean up the fur a bit and tweak the ear shape... Using a foam carved into the shape of the ear instead of 3D printed ears would make for a lighter ear that would have less risk of flying off when he moves around while being very tight on that ear rigging. But even without any of that, he's still very fun and I love that because the fur is attached with velcro, you can totally change up his look easily in the future.
The person at Joann's tore it so she wasn't cutting the fur itself. My mother wouldn't allow me to have a Furby because they creeped her out, so did Cabbage Patch dolls. This guy would have given her nightmares. I LOVE it!!! He needs a mic
I love the extra effort Austin put in with the powerpoint and the instruction manual! cant forget the pez dispensers too! serious props to him, definitely earned a sub from me!

8:38 that is why they rip it. also because it is more accurate to the yardage to rip it, cleaner, less nose fuzz, less allergies, etc. I used to work for the cut counter and after cutting it, i also preferred ripping it even if it was more difficult. also ripping doesnt destroy the pile of the fur
I absolutely love this Furby robot dog! Although, I wish his feet were more Furby bird type. I love Furbies still to this day! I wish I could get one, but a tiger stripes or tie dye instead! But I could never afford it, so I’ll be happy to watch this video a lot.

I'm laughing so hard at the phrase "without looking like we've lost a fight to a muppet" it has no reason being that funny but it is💀
To be fair, you can add "without looking like we lost a fight with a Muppet" to the end of any sentence and immediately have a comedy skit on your hands.
Just make sure *that* thing isn't anywhere nearby first… (See video at top of page for more information.)
I collect furbys (about 30 plus a few customs) and my friend sent me this, I loved every second of it. Unironically want a beast like this.
I want to see more people try to make these things, I love its weirdness
Me too!
I want an hour long compilation of them walking coco. Because i need an hour of that beauty
I really hope this revives the furby odd body content on RUclips. This is amazing!
oh it never died, nightmare-fueling furby diys will live forever!
@@cescimes I've just been finding it hard to find videos on it lately. I love watching what people come up with and how they did it.
I love Katelyn looking at the robot dog and then up at Evan like "I need to take his credit card away."
I was just wondering how they could afford to just... buy one
@@Kiri_-so3eii wonder if it could be written off as a business expense
@@Kiri_-so3ei It looks like the one that they bought was about 2,400 dollars on Amazon... so not the most expensive thing in the world. And yeah, probably wrote it off as a business expense on taxes.
The wonderful world of Self employed youtube content creation. As long as it's on film it counts.
@@TheRealAlpha2 going to the irs and explaining "this furby bot was CRUCIAL to the integrity of our job!!!"
I love how the doggo at the park was like “uh-uhn, that just ain’t right” 😂😂😂 This is rad, y’all
20:34 the way it turns to katelyn and Evan makes me wonder if Austin watched their videos to see where the two would be standing normally 😅
Hi!! Fursuit maker here, they rip it so they dont cut the fur!
Another good method for working with and cutting fur is to use box cutter / exacto / ect! you want to just glide along and cut the backing only!
The running is just insane. This is so extremely meme-able. If Coco doesn't show up on creepy pasta jumpscares I'll eat my furby.
Not if your furby eats you first!
That Squarespace AD was the best thing I have ever watched. Must have been so much fun creating it :D
THAT ROBOT PET IS SO CURSED AAAAA
im normally scared of robots but this is hilarious coco is great
Imagine walking down the street at night and this thing sprinting towards you while giggling.
Don't give Boston Dynamics any more ideas. . . .
with glowing red eyes.
Back in the 90s furbys recording your conversations was big news, now people buy alexas knowing it's sending everything to Jeff.
THIS LMAO
Everything in the name of *~progress and innovation~* Privacy who, don't know her!
Worried all about Alexa… all while we all carry around iPhones and Samsungs that already record and track everything we do and send it off to the government
Imagine making an army of Furbots and having them chase Jeff Bezos, in the middle of the night.
@@roboteen maybe, just maybe, several things can be bad at once. the robot "dog" is also bad since it's developed by the US military and is used by the US police force, who are not unknown to use excess force. guns can be mounted to those robots.
This comment made Jeff just sound like some random person
This is so cursed, even without the "cursed-mode" 😂
I hope Coco has a wonderful time in his new vessel and continues to look favourably upon humankind.
As a fursuit maker and cosplay designer I have a few things to say.
Your pattern makeing was absolutely perfect! Amazing!
Cutting the fur with scissors made me want to cry tho :0
If your ever working with furr again either do very short snips tight to the backing or use a blade. The reason poor Evan was choking on all the fluff is because you cut the fibers in half while cutting your pattern peices.
Honestly tho cursed and perfect and I absolutely love it!!!
I love this but my fav part is the names on the video call. "Are scared of furbies". And "Furbie whisperer"
Even the Joob cut out was looking at Katelyn like "seriously tho...WTF??"
This is not only your best creation, it could be your best video ever. So great to see you both happy and excited for a project. Also, Austin went so over the top- all of those extra touches were amazing!
There are somethings in life that shouldn't be done and this is one of them. Yet I can not look alway. My nightmares are coming back.😂😂😂
There is a special place in hell for the creation that you 2 have made. But I'm gonna watch the video again because I'm very intrigued.😆😆😆
Actually in my opinion there are way more creepy owl creations then this.
This is probley the most tame one and I unironly find this cute.
And that's coming from me who at first was scared of 99% of odd bodies.
But this one he's ok.
He A good boy.
hahaha
@@EvanAndKatelyn not menacing at all
This is the absolute most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life, and I want to pet it and also run away.
This thing in a night-time prank video would be amazing! Someone walking at night in a parking garage and then this nightmare's red eyes just turn on.
Sounds like a really quick way to get a very broken robot.
20:18: I think Matt Rose would definitely be scared or something… Idk.
I love how Katelyn color coordinated her outfit to match the fur-bot!
At 18:53 when the furby dog broke, i laughed because of the way it broke🤣
I love the extra effort Austin put in with the powerpoint and the instruction manual! cant forget the pez dispensers too! serious props to him, definitely earned a sub from me!
Really love when y'all do projects that highlight smaller RUclips channels with creative folks!
As an avid furby collector I have three words. I LOVE IT. Furbies are so cute and misunderstood. They’re little babies.
YESSSS furbs are the cutest things literally ever I sew them alot because it's hard to find them where I live
It scary
That was more then three words 😡
@@ፔ̇̈ ''I love it'' has 3 words in it.
Furbies are from the darkest ring of hell
This thing is the stuff of nightmares... good job!
Ok but the way it was dancing in the dark was actually so unnerving
18:30 Seeing coco jump triggered a violent reaction within like "GET IT AWAY!!!" kind of Vibe
Can we take a second to appreciate the quality of these videos now?! That transition at 11:02 was so simple, yet creative! Perfect fit for the pace and awkward-spontaneity of the project. Been a fan for years and I love how now your edits don't just capture your energy, but enhance it. Truly enjoyed this rollercoaster of emotions 😂
I always love the skits they do for sponsors but oh my GOD this one is by far the best 😂😂😂😂
"Are scared of Furbys" and "Furby Whisperer" are so perfect 😭
The furby/Square Space ad integration is brilliant 😂 Great video as always E&K!
Haha thank you! We feel lucky to work with sponsors that approve our weird ad ideas :P
I think this is actually the scariest thing I've ever seen, like it plays into literally every fear I've had since I was a child. You have genuinely given me nightmares
but it's so adorable :3
@@MothCattuchiniAdorable nightmares?
I love the Darksouls Boss moment when it stands up
I love how Katelyn matched her outfit to the Furby's fur towards the end there omg

Thank you for giving me nightmare fuel for the next 6 months
@@integza its been six months how are you feeling now? Lol
The research put into these videos is very thorough.
This is probably one of my favourite episodes of yours ever 😭😭 the editing, the internet horror filming, the cursed content, it’s all perfect omg 😭 this project is amazing. Honestly crazy cool well done ,!
Ah yes the ripping technique, I usually score the back with a sharp base then rip. It reduces further fallout and cutting tiny fibers into the air....as Evan instantly sneezed 😂
Yeah, when Katelyn said, "I don't know why she didn't cut it," I was thinking, "Give it two seconds aaaaand...." Evan sneezes. "That's why." 😆
This collab was so good. The cheerful details Austin added, such a great guy!
Am i the only one who thinks they nail their sponsors? They dont just talk about it they do an entire short play about it i love it❤

When the furby centaur opened its eyes I almost screamed out of pure terror. It is so glorious but scary at the same time 😭
18:20 ❤ Omg 10 yr old me would have loved this!
You should do something small like the robot dogs from the 90s that just did back flips ❤
This is the best creative use Ive seen for these kind of robots so far!!
20:07 Imagine seeing that thing running at you full speed in the middle of the night.
What's funny is that of all things, the Squarespace ad is what made me laugh uncontrollably and remember to thumb up the video.
"I am sure no one would be creeped out by this!" I was creeped out by the thumbnail :D. Nice job guys.
I sent it to my sister and she refused to even click on it
This is single handedly the scariest thing I've seen all week

the way he falls here is truly terrifying but so hilarious at the same time 😂 18:49
I absolutely love this Furby robot dog! Although, I wish his feet were more Furby bird type. I love Furbies still to this day! I wish I could get one, but a tiger stripes or tie dye instead! But I could never afford it, so I’ll be happy to watch this video a lot.
I thought to myself just yesterday, "Katelyn and Evan hasn't posted in a while. They must be working on something big. I can't wait to see it." And it's THIS! ❤
I love him. He's beautiful. Thank you for releasing his glory unto us 🙏
