I feel like this video was "We really want to make a mannequin leg table, but we don't want to admit that by making it its own video, so let's add a couple other small things for plausible deniability." And I loved it.

Watching a video about an ergonomic chair the other day and the second comment was "nice feet" 😑😑😑 like just let people live without commenting on their bodies bro
The "Resin Lasagna" Evan was referring to is called micarta. It's usually made by layering paper or fabric soaked in resin. Peter Brown has great videos on making it and using it for different projects
Resin soaking fabric is sometimes used like micarta, I've even seen entire tables/desks made that way, but most commonly knife handles (or other tool handles). Could be really fun for you guys in the future...

Evan and Katelyn: Where not that type of channel.. Also Evan and Katelyn: "Do you feel inadequate about what's in your pants?" "Pull it off sensually.." The whole Legatha situation..
I saw a guy on a sciencey RUclips channel putting candy bars in the vacuum machine and it, for some reason, immediately made me think of Evan and Katelyn. I think you guys should try to find out different things that would and wouldn't survive in a vacuum.
Evan’s layered shirt resin idea reminds me of Mosevic eyewear, which infuses recycled denim with resin to make sunglasses, it’s actually a really interesting material
I love how Kate had to have a “Oh no I need to hide the legs” moment when the air conditioner repair guy showed up because in literally any other situation that’d be a serious cause for alarm.
the fabric resin lasagne thing is already a thing, its called micarta. Peter Brown has done a ton of different videos making it out of all different stuff (loads of others too but he's the one that immediately springs to mind)
To give Evan some credit for the 100 layer shirt lasagna idea, look up what Micarta is. It's a bunch of fabrics stacked together and saturated with glue and then cut and sanded down to any shape. I've only seen it used for knife handles, but I'm sure there's other uses.
For the legs, fill them with expanding foam. Put a circle of wood at the top parallel to the top. Trim the top level. Now you can put a small bolt in the leg and a t-nut into the top. For figuring out how to cut the legs, a laser level would mark them so you could put a cut line at the top. Then make a bunch to start selling them as the perfect accessory for a replica lamp from “A Christmas Story”.
@@mary78880 I can’t recall if they have used one before. If not, that’s a new tool for Evan. I got a Craftsman one years ago as a Christmas gift. It is not self leveling though. I’ve used it to hang pictures mostly. My mom used to buy me new tools she saw being advertised around Christmas.
Probably mentioned a hundred times already but Micarta is a totally valid thing to make! In the industrial world they use it as insulators inside electrical bus panels, but also it's a common material for knife handles.
Sometimes I just let videos play on random, just as background noise, every time this video comes on I never know what to think but I have so much respect for the dedication and motivation
I genuinely think the hammer shoes could be decent if designed well. Like, the metal needs to be thick (and securely attached) but you could tell it would work by the amount that the nail went down after she slammed her heel specifically. Every time it was the heel it drove down pretty well. Enough force and a good chunk of metal and that might actually work pretty okay (why you would actually do it though is beyond me)
Even with the tapped heels, the raw and taped (instead of sewn) hose, and the wonky connection to the top, Legatha Tables is still excellent. I love her 😆
You guys should make a video touring all of your fancy equipment/machinery, it would be so interesting to watch and lots of us would enjoy it I think. Much love to you guys 🤍
Just piggybacking on your comment that I think that type of stacking a material with resin is called micarta? I've seen a guy that makes really cool sunglasses with denim micarta! also Peter Brown had turned stuff on a lathe made from various micarta things!
I love the idea of linothorax, but apparently the popular image of them being essentially laminated composites is not supported by historical record and is all traced back to a single researcher doing speculative experiments in the 1970s, based on a mistranslated text. More likely linothorax were simply tightly woven fabric, or stuffed and quilted, or layered and padded. But sadly the imaginative conception of ancient Greek armorers inventing an early version of micarta laminate does not appear to be true.
