Indeed, Jeff! What a time to be a guitar player, I envy my youth guitarists who are spoilt for choice. Back in my day I only had the red kidney bean (that was the OG POD)!
Its cool that you made this. I'm experimenting with some downsizing using the Stomp. I ditched a Dd500, volume pedal, and overdrive so far. Right now I've got a comp, two drives, the stmop, and an Rv500 and I feel like I can get all the tones i need because the stomp is so solid.
As someone who owns most of the pedals in your video, but uses midi, I’d love to see how you use your board to navigate through a set. Thank you for your content, always good stuff.
I swapped out my HX stomp for a GT-1000 Core... Sound quality is so much better... I have four parellel stereo chains set up in the FX loop and use an Akai Force as midi controller... Works like a charm for total song creation... ☺️
I should check it out for myself! Although I think I'm too far embedded in the HX ecosystem at this point. 4 stereo chains, cool! What are you running in those chains, and are they all on simultaneously?
Oh there’s no ego involved, I assure you. All I’m saying is that I’m too used to a certain system to properly give another a go at this point, cause I don’t have the time or the resources to try a Boss GT Core (I would love to try an all-Boss board build one day, with their 500 series pedals and an MS-3, for example). It’s like if you’re a Canon user and folks suggest you try a Sony; certainly you want to give it a go, but after investing in Canon lenses and accessories, it’s hard to properly try another system unless you go all in.
Love it! I have a similar set up, HX stomp with an empress Echosystem and the gfi Specular Tempus currently, but I do use a jet micro to give me additional foot switches and I can trigger snapshots from it too. I’ve been wanting a hologram effects microcosm to finish the board out, but I got a couple other options too.
Thanks! Whoa, great pedal selection there, sounds like with the Microcosm, you'll have the ultimate shoegazer rig (although I'm certain those pedals are versatile!).
I have the helix floor and i want to ad my strymon external pedals to the chain . Want the mobious before the amp , the big sky after betwen the amp and the cab . Can i copy the fx loop of the external pedals to have them one on each chain to get full stereo big modulation and reverbs ? Tring to do on that way to get more free dsp on the helix and have more felibility on the efects when i play live
Hi Javier, if I'm understanding you correctly, you want the same stereo FX loop block on both signal paths 1 and 2? That's not possible as far as I know, as only one instance of FX Loop 1/2 or 3/4 can exist on the chain.
Hi! You mean set it up to receive MIDI PC and CC messages for preset changes and remote bypass? I have one here: ruclips.net/video/HPdLdOcImpw/видео.html
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I mean how to set up ping pong delays, dotted 8th, U2 sounding delays etc. on the timeline. I just got mine and I’m a bit confused. Thanks!
Hi justin. Great video. I recently purchased the Stomp and am doing the exact thing you have here with BS and TL. Could you share the cabling you used, and signal chain as well. Also where the fx loop lives in HxEdit. Thanks in advance!
Thanks! Sure thing, I have pancake Mogami patch cables (built locally by TY Music Centre, if you’re in Singapore). Signal chain: Comp, Boost, Overdrive, Stereo FX loop (mono patch cable send, 2x mono patch cable return) with the MB, TL, BS, 2x amps in stereo, dual cab, parametric EQ.
awesome. could u do a screen grab of the chain in HXedit and also maybe a quick vid showing the cables going in and out of pedals. I set mine up but i'm getting odd noises from BS and TL in FX loop.@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar
Hey mate, hope you’re well, love the tones. I am in a big confusion about about using my tonex and bigsky in the stereo fx loop of my hx stomp xl. What is the right signal chain i should do it with,? I was thinking to go send stereo from stomp xl to tonex and from tonex L & R to bigsky in stereo and back in stereo to stomp dl, what eo you think about it?
Hi Joel, thank you for the kind words! The advantage of your proposed signal chain is that you can utilise the Stomp for its headphone outputs as well as configure the gain staging of the ToneX by reducing or increasing gain with the stereo FX loop block. ToneX into BS will have very clean reverbs, which is a certain sound, whereas BS into ToneX will be more like my video where the amps are hit by the reverb (you'll have to sacrifice stereo for this though, since the ToneX is mono in only).
Hello from Malaysia. Just wanted to express my thanks for your effort of putting up all these to help PnW guitarists to sound better. 😊 I am setting up my electric guitar pedalboard with big sky, timeline, ego compressor and tc electronic polytune 3. I am planning to get a hx stomp and mobius to complete it. My church mostly plays Stream of Praise songs, do you think this setup works?
Thank you for the kind words, Joshua! Yes, that's a perfectly adequate setup for Steams of Praise. To my knowledge, their repertoire doesn't require heavy ambience or modulation, so if you wanted to you could actually get away with just the HX Stomp standalone!
Hey! Thank you so much for the video it has inspired me to make a smaller board. I was wondering what power brick your using? I am going to be powering a hx stomp. Timeline. Big sky. Mobius and a shure glxd 16 wireless on a temple audio duo 17.
Right now I'm doing the opposite, I have my guitar direct to a SP Compressor (for level and brightness), then to the HX Stomp where I have Volume, simple pitch and my drives in the mono fx loop, after that it goes to the amp, IR, mod, delay and reverb (David Hislop All in One patches). Good sound so far.
Oh very nice choice with the David Hislop patches! They are really unique and sound the truest-to-life. What drives do you have? I might flip around and do a pedalboard that has drives in the Stomp's loop next time, haha!

Thanks for the comment! What a solid rig! Are you controlling it via MIDI?
@@AllAboutWorshipGuitar no just a 2 button aux switch for the stomp.

Thank you for watching! I'm in the process of producing a video on preset programming and triggering via the HX Stomp, it will be out next week!
Planning to build the same except for the neunaber and XL instead of regular HX stomp
Ah the XL, I have some GAS for it even though I already have the Stomp!

What’s the purpose of your comment? So that everyone buys what you have? I don’t get it. Less ego people.
