Just came across this build, brings back a lot of great memories - defo need to watch the other parts. I had one of these back in the ‘80s - best Christmas present ever! My parents didn’t see me for days while I built it. My Dad used to take me up to an old WW2 airfield to drive it. Absolutely loved it.... and I still have it in my garage but it’s not seen the light of day for years.
Happy building/restoring/painting! Great project. Uhh, I also got a FAV in a box I need to open. Been there since black friday 2018 🤣😂 It’s just a RE-RE XB... for a price I couldn’t resist back then. Don’t know why I haven’t opened it. Maybe because the hard body Tamiya XB models are always a bit dissapointing ...paint wise ... the polycarbonate are always spot on though ... If you manage to make this one pretty (so far looking amazing with the white tire letters and the black and green) I will open my XB to see how bad it looks compared to yours 🙂😂
Wade Beaumont Yes totally agree Wade, when I was doing it I was thinking this look a little dull, but once I got it all together, It looks sweet 👊🏻 Thanks for watching buddy
Super cool! When I was kid, I wanted to buy it but I couldn't because I didn't have money. Then when Tamiya reproducted it few years ago, I bought it. I didn't assemble it yet... I love Tamiya too!
Epic build Glenn. The possibilities of customization for the FAV are endless! I look forward to seeing this project finished, and can't wait to build one .
Nice one. My FAV is the only surviving RC from my teenage years. It's a great looking car. Look forward to seeing yours finished as you are doing a far better job than I did all those years ago!
That transmitter makes my ancient gear look cutting edge! Lol, I like both colours the tan unpainted and the olive,I'd plastacine mask out a cammo scheme to save on paint!
James Cunliffe Yeah I want to get a Tamiya Tank, but boy are they expensive 😬😬😬 I’ve also made a quick video I’ll publish soon to see if you guys want to see a plastic Tamiya model build or two 😬 I’ll be interested to see what response that gets 😳
That one looks so stunning! Never really wanted a FAV until now. You've done an amazing job with it. White tire writing to that olive green car is just fantastic! Now I have a huge soft spot for both the Wild One AND this! :D
I’m two weeks into my Re re FAV build and just getting to the end of painting. I wouldn’t mind but I’ve painted mine desert sand . I didn’t realise the original FAV plastics were a different shade, my gun is already black. Great video.
The great thing with Tamiya is that you can make it as mad as you want. Its more fragile then Traxxas which I have too for bashing with the kids but the Tamiya's are sweet and great to film in action in slomo and drive them all out there on a lazy Sunday. Love your channel btw. You will love the Fast Attack once it is ready and driveable. I have replace the backlights on mine by smaller square led ones. I really like the back now because the whole rig is square so it suits it much better
Really nice Glen!!!!. The colour is spot on..... It’s a shame that back in the day it’s another one that passed me by. Again loads of effort but it’s going to be great👍👍👍👍👍
Good stuff mate. You've got it looking very stealthy, although the enemy might see the tyre lettering. 🤣. You've just reminded me too, my FAV needs a run. It's an XB in the standard colour, so I know exactly where I can run it so it looks at home. 😁
RC Hobby Shed What you need Mick is a large bmx track to run your cars! If only you had somewhere like that to go 😂👊🏻. Still so jealous of you, I’d love something like that over here 😊
I want to be Jealous... Really do. So many Kits I want to do, but can't afford a single one. I am excited for you Glenn. Although I'd give me left Nut to have a Wild One... The FAV is very high indeed on my Dream list. Carmine ✈🚂🚙
Looks awesome mate, not surprised it took 2 days to get where you are, took me weeks to build mine but well worth the time and effort. Why do negative people waste there own time leaving derogatory comments about something they clearly don't understand the first thing about? and why don't they realise it says more about there pathetic little lives than it does about us enthusiasts. After all, not only are they wasting there time commenting but also wasting there time watching the video in the first place. Now who needs to get a life? along with some lessons in constructing a legible and intelligent comment. Keep up the good work Glen, Legend!

It’s a very strange thing to see happen, I actually think the guys who leave me the thumbs down are subscribed 😳 But to actually leave a crappy comment, we’ll that’s just on them I guess. Thanks so much for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
Pablo668 100% agree the Wild One is much easier to build. + this FAV is pretty much a shelf Queen now, I daren’t run it in case of chipping the paint 😞 Thanks for watching buddy
The bumper looks original because of the header card stapled to the bag. The plastic bag itself looks and sounds original. Didn't sound "poly". I've got the 2011 re-release. Unbuilt.
Please include close up of the underside of the chassis in the next video. I checked my rere chassis and i has a recycle bin icon molded in on the left side in front of the battery box, on the underside. I did not see the recycle bin on yours, but hard to see since you didnt provide a direct close up of the underside. That doesnt mean it is original, since to could be multiple rere molds, but it would be an indication.
