    Excellent video as usual sir, I love those old Stihl’s.

    Thanks Tinman very neat to see how those pipes work side by side I like the 460’s I don’t have one I run a stock 661 with a bark box but I would love to play around with some pipes on it

    Loud pipes saves saws💪 Try switching the filler caps on your can, the gray one has a marker for chainlube on it. I use the black one on gas, and the filler nozzle with my bar oil since it doesn't fit in the older small husqys

    • @tinmanssaws
      @tinmanssaws  10 месяцев назад

      The black one leaked really bad so I use the oil one.

      @skravlesen 10 месяцев назад

      @tinmanssaws man, that's typical! Hopefully they'll give you a new black one if there's a husqy shop locally. The gas one works really great on mine, I've only spilled some when it's been standing in the sun and gotten some pressure buildup. Then I usually give it a quick pump to release it, and it's ready for another speedy & perfect fill

    The chrome pipe Definitely seemed to pass the eyeball test in my opinion.

    Dude that coyote pipe is beautiful! Love it Tinman! Im getting all of my saws geared up for summer time. My gramma has 40 acres and a TON of trees to thin out, also some giants running down the driveway that my ported 460 is gonna eat (as long as i didnt do anything wrong porting it hahaha!) Fingers crossed!!!

    Love my built 046... spins 15,500 out of the cut, haven't got the bawls to tach it in the cut yet 😂 Keep spreading the knowledge Tinman 👍💪😎

    Do you think that maybe the Y pipe cools better? I mentioned that because the curved pipe was RIGHT THERE with it on the first cut; the hotter the saw gets, the more it loses some power; a pipe that keeps the saw cooler will win on the subsequent cuts/dyno pulls in my experience. I've added a thermocouple to my dyno to check temp of the saw's cylinder with different exhausts and there is an astonishing difference. Thanks for the video.

      That may be part of the equation but on this test being how cold it was outside I don't think heat was much of an issue.

    Outstanding video and content!! As I was watching
    and thinking about Caleb , cutting in that brutally hot environment in Texas, I was thinking about which pipe would be the best at pulling heat away from that saw!

    Ironhorse pipe works really well for me, easy to build and nice throttle response and it feels more torque at mid range.

    It definitely likes to breathe! Wonder if the "straight pipe" were 1/4" larger, would the results have been more comparable🤔

      @@tinmanssaws They have a 32 inch bar light wieght but because there stihl dealer it's 216 bucks. Then tax on that. Nothing is cheap anymore. Just came from there and asked if they have and they do.

    What’s the issue with a 391 Stihl. People say don’t buy it, why? What was so bad about that saw?

    • @michaelnewman-ds3fr
      @michaelnewman-ds3fr 10 месяцев назад

      I’ve had a 391 for 10 years now they’re really sluggish. I’ve been wanting to put a pipe on it to see if it wakes up!

    • @tinmanssaws
      @tinmanssaws  10 месяцев назад +2

      There's nothing wrong with that saw if it puts wood in your truck.
      It's a bit heavy and underpowered if you compare it to pro saws of the same cc range.
      Apples to oranges really.

    • @jeremyfortune7274
      @jeremyfortune7274 10 месяцев назад

      @@tinmanssaws so the 391 Stihl is kind of like the 460 husky is how I’m taking it? 460 is 60cc but it’s not a “pro saw” so that 391 is more of a homeowner model sounds like. I just see a lot of them for sale and most are cheap
