I ♥ this song! It NEVER gets old! I'm glad I found the 80's version that I grew up listening to during Christmas. :)
Is there another version?
A few by different randos@@NipItInTheBud100
This is one of the best Christmas songs.
2:02 what kind of scene is this, with kids trying to recreate their grandma's death scene 😂
Good memories of our grandfather and grandmother
Kids can sometimes actually be pretty concerning and/or scary in what they decide would be fun to imitate and recreate during playtime😅😐.
That is 1982 for you.
I read that that's actually a common way kids process trauma.
They were probably asked to recreate what they saw by the police or something.
I actually think they are being mind controlled because they just stare into the camera at some point singing
Edit: how the heck did she come back?
Or breaking the fourth wall
@kendra or they are robots.
Must've gotten the same director from Circle-Square
Idk
God blessed me with 2 of the best Grandparents ever..
They passed away in 1991 and 1997..
They were the best Grandparents ever ❤❤❤❤
this is my 96 year old grandmother's fave song
Aww 🥰
Irony
100 years if still alive
@@Thepersoneverywhere My grandma was so close, (I believe it would have been this year.) but she died at 98.
:(
Is she still with us...or did that blasted reindeer find her?
My ol' favorite Christmas song ever. Radio stations just play the heck out of it after Thanksgiving through Christmas day.Every day.
When I was a kid I would watch the animated version all the time and sing the song all over the house! Good old times!😌
Run this every Christmas eve and christmas 😂🔥🔥
What I find phenomenal, is that the grandmother in this video is exactly how I imagined she would look like!
Wish they played this on the radio more.
RUclips recommends me this, in Spring during Corona.
i looked it up... idk why im here
@@lifewithashchrissycat9327 I'm here cuz i was googling songs that reminded me of my crush and this song showed up in my recommended lmao, no it doesn't remind me of my crush haha

Everyone is telling stories of why this song is so nostalgic to them…
personally it always reminds me of a maths exam I had in 12th grade during Christmas season. I discovered the song the day before and couldn’t stop thinking about it during the exam. It was distracting but at least I was in a cheerful mood because of it xD I passed and I remember it as the best exam I ever had, not because it went so well but because how much fun I had while taking it xDD
for those very few people out there who have had a grandma get ran over by a reindeer is this song still funny?
movieman104 yep
movieman104 i would feel terrible for liking this song if this ever happened to a relative of mine. I’m not particularly close with my grandmother but I don’t think she deserves to be trampled by a reindeer
Mine deserved it, but never got it. :(
@@john1701q oh god

Did it hit Grandma lying in the snow?,
What? I didn't know they still had 8 track tapes in 1982.
My mom had this track also when I was a little boy and playing it today just reminded me of her, I love this track when I was little and now and I came across it again I’m Harding it to my favorite
Loved this since I was a child. 49 now
Yes , I love this song too and I’m a grandma lol
A child can turn 49 within 8 years lol
@@beanos719 Just because this song was released in 2011 on RUclips doesn't mean it was released in 2011.
@@beanos719 the song was released in1979.
Same. And I'm 45.

I heard this song at my shcool bus on Friday
I played this in our classroom last Friday on full volume.

Yay! I’m so happy someone’s grandma got run over!
This is such a beautiful, sentimental Christmas melody...truly captures the mood of the season.
Hello Bethy how are you doing??
Simple theme and variation on Jingle, Bells...
Yip this is one of my favorite
Hey how are you doing today?
My nephew used to sing it when he was small my mum and dad loved hearing him sing it as we all did
Hello how are you doing today?
Favorite Christmas song right here, they don't play this enough on the radios.
We all need positive vibes like this or this ruclips.net/video/KQbmgfc7RNU/видео.html
Merry Christmas to you and stay safe, let's all hope 2021 is better than 2020

I have never seen the video for this in my entire life lmaoooooo 34 years later and this is golden still
In memory of my Mom, Dad and Peter in heaven who loved this song...
Hello how are you doing today?😊
My mother played this every year for me when I was young. She passed awy this past year, and what better way to commemorate her than play this on repeat?
Happy holidays to Your family and self.

Alternate title to song: Santa commits vehicular manslaughter and attempts to dumb the body and hide the evidence.
Lyrics:
Santa commits vehicular manslaughter
Flying 'round the world on Christmas Eve
You can say there's no such thing as human roadkill (something like that)
But as for me and Grandpa we believe
It'll be ten years in April. I miss you Grandma. Merry Christmas ❤
I saw Patsy and Elmo at the fair in Boonville. Great memories. Why can I remember the words to all their music? Cloverdale Break Down didn't just happen to them. Had a couple myself.
I'm performing for a retirement community in a couple days....you think this would be appropriate?
tgguitarguy of course!
Sure!
Belt it out
You joker😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well they're all gonna die sometime soon so a song reminding them about death may get them in the spirit for it.
Tradition!!!! 🥰🍻👍 My Grandma was so miserable that she was actually offended when my sister and I would sing this 😂🤣👍
Lighthearted Christmas comedy song😃😃😃
Hey how are you doing?
It's 2021. But it's my first time hearing this "adorable"song! 🤣 Heard it on the radio, then had to have it! 💖 What would Christmas be without a hilly billy song? 🤣
You definitely need to see the movie they made about it! It's a classic!
same for me but now it's 2023
I remember going to my nan's (grandma in Britain) my uncle let us in and said she had been hit by a reindeer me and my older brother started bawling once we were told then my nan snuck up behind us and scared the shit out of us sadly I lost her 2 years ago but everytime I hear this song I'm reminded of that prank
😂😂😂
A holiday classic ❤😅😅😅
Hey how are you doing today?
“It’s not Christmas without Grandma” That hit me hard, my grandma died of cancer in July of this year and it hasn’t been good since her loss, I really miss her
Grandpa is hitting it of with Cousin Mel
*Sweet home Alabama intensifies*
Mate grandpa ran over grandma to get with mel
I mean, she migth be the cousin of the dad, while grandpa is the father of the mom
And yhea, I think Grandpa ran over Grandma
“What are you doing step-bro?”
@@jesusramirezromo2037 Then the song continued to "I'm my own Grandpa".
parody I made about what really happened:
Slow intro:
Grandma got run over by a reindeer
I am pretty sure you've heard that song
Everybody thought that it was Santa
But I am sad to say that we were wrong
Chorus:
Grandma got run over by fake reindeer
Walking home from our house, Christmas Eve
Grandpa said that it was done by Santa
But that's not what my family believes
Verse 1:
Grandpa got her drunk on eggnog
And he begged for her to go
Then he hid her medication
And he kicked her out the door into the snow
When we found her Christmas morning
We saw something very weird
There were paw prints on her forehead
There were tread marks on her body from Goodyear
Chorus:
Grandma got run over by fake reindeer
Walking home from our house, Christmas Eve
Grandpa said that it was done by Santa
But that's not what my family believes
Verse 2:
Grandpa dressed up just like Santa
Made our car look like a sleigh
Made our eight dogs look like reindeer
Then he waited for us all to hit the hay
Now we all know why our Grandpa
Has been taking it so well
He did away with our dear grandma
Because he wanted to marry cousin Mel (COUSIN MEL?!)
Chorus:
Grandma got run over by fake reindeer
Walking home from our house, Christmas Eve
Grandpa said that it was done by Santa
But that's not what my family believes
Verse 3:
Now our grandpa is in prison
He got twenty-five to life
Mel wants me to be her husband
Kind of weird, but I want her to be my wife
We were eating Christmas dinner
When we got a big surprise
We heard someone ring our doorbell
Can't believe it. Grandma somehow had survived
Chorus:
Grandma got run over by fake reindeer
Walking home from our house, Christmas Eve
Grandpa said that it was done by Santa
But that's not what my family believes
(Sing it, Grandma!)
Chorus: (slightly different)
Grandma got run over by fake reindeer
Walking home from our house, Christmas Eve
Now we know there's no such thing as Santa
Don't care what everyone else believes
Song ends with Grandma saying "Merry Christmas."
I don't know what the title would be. It wouldn't be "Grandma Got Run Over By Fake Reindeer" because that would be too much of a spoiler.
"All the family's dressed in black"

How is it that we have 4 satellite radio stations that are playing Christmas music 24 hours a day, and yet we never hear this on the radio anymore??? In the 80's they played it literally every Christmas! That's why it's best to just get your music on RUclips!
I'm surprised I haven't heard this on the radio in a few years. I remember hearing it all the time around Christmas years ago.
My grandmother lived to be 95 she would have loved to have seen me sing this song through karaoke RIP Granny until we meet again ❤️
