Yeah. I love him, but he's starting to lose me with these reviews, honestly. That pizza checked all the boxes to be an 8.4, and occasionally he'll give a pretty crappy pizza a 7.4. It doesn't add up.
There's no world in which this is a 7.4 and the Florida version of Frank Pepe's is an 8.1. It looks so much better than what Dave ate yesterday
I had it pegged for 7.6 maybe 7.7.
Today's pizza looked like a 7.8 and Pepe's looks like a 6.2. The name was doing heavy lifting yesterday.

This looks so much better than the fake score at Frank Pepe’s yesterday. Pepe’s was still floppy. This looks tasty.
I've had plenty of "floppy" pizza that's good, including Pepe's. On the contrary, I've had plenty of "non-floppy" pizza that tasted like shit. Never had Pepe's that didn't have flop, and I've been there countless times when I lived in CT.
Honesty, that pizza looked better than a 7.4
The way he complimented the pizza, I thought 7.6 or higher. I'm shocked by the 7.4
It's like a date; the person might look great physically, but then the personality is the shits. Taste is more important than presentation.
Let's consider the audience...folks in mansions give this pizza a 9.2 m, folks in a trailer give this pizza a 9.2, folks on vacation will givr this pizza a 9.2 that pizza will be a 7.6 reheated on Sunday, that pizza is a 8.4 in the hotel microwave man he was paid to tank this score, it's the only answer

I live close by to this one. I like it. It’s in the 7.x range though IMO. I would give it a 7.6 maybe. Pizza Heaven in Weston is a little better.
Dave gave half a dozen different bar pies either a 7.9 or an 8.1 in the last month, and none of them could even hold a candle to this visually.

@@Demarini71691 I have over 400 reviews myself and have been to all of the big name bar pie spots, and the only place I gave over an 8 was Lynnwood Cafe, and I'm not even sure if it deserved the score. I gave it at the time to be honest.

I went to this place with a buddy of mine. Probably about 5-6, years ago coming from a Panthers game off 595. He was raving about it. I remember it was pretty good and the price was fair

I disagree with you. It has a crisp. But look closer, it has no char. And cheap cheese. It could be cheap sauce as well. They have the dough down and figured out, but that’s about it. I’d say given his taste in pizza it’s accurate.

I live in Plantation and I literally just bought a large cheese pie from this place and finished eating it. My pie wasn't as crispy as the one in this video, but it looked just like it and still tastes great. I think 7.4 or 7.5 is about right for this pie, personally. My gf gave it a 7.8. I'd definitely order from them again.
The wings tho... They're better than the pizza. Got the wings w/o sauce and got the hot sauce on the side. Absolute fire. Best wings I've had here locally.
Note: the local Frank Pepe's is absolutely not an 8.1 unless they changed the recipe recently. Been there twice and that pie is easily a 7.2 at most, imo.

It is in the 9s. I have been going to JP since 1977. This score and disrespect to a business open for over 50 years in the same location with the SAME OWNERS....just disgraceful.

@@haloeffect44 Been going since '91 myself and I judge all others by it. Each guy had their own style but was always no less than really good. Sauce is great! Do you remember the guy that was fresh off the boat from Italy in the mid 2000's? He made the best pizza I've ever had! You asked for extra cheese and definitely got it! I learned his schedule and would order when I knew he was working at night. I used to live in Jacaranda Village apartments on Pine Island.

Not going to lie, I really didn't understand New Haven pizza scene before your vids. I may have heard about it once or twice in the past. But your videos really made me understand the pizza culture over there entirely.

You know you're in South Florida when it's the peak of winter, and it's in the mid-80s and the camera is fogging up.
I went to Miami last May, thinking it would only be mildly hot and humid. WRONG! Came back to NY with the worst sunburn on the top of my feet. Trying to walking around MIA and JFK airport was so unbearable, that I literally had to get drunk just to withstand the pain.

There is a pizza restaurant in Stuart , FL. The name of the restaurant is Fantini’s ‘New Haven Style’ Apizza Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar 1560 NW Federal HWY Stuart, FL 34994. . Fantini’s owner learned from Frank Pepe. Fantini’s opened in Florida before Pepe’s moved in. They also carry Fox Park soda which is a Connecticut pizza restaurant favorite. I would give them a try, I grew up on Pepe’s Pizza and I believe Fantini’s was better pie , when I ate there 4 years ago.
I have been to Jacaranda Pizzeria and would think this is at least a 7.6 - 7.9 pizza. I also think Dave lowballed Frank Pepe 2nd chance review before this review, thinking that should have been a 8.4 - 8.6 pizza, especially with the low rating he gave them on the 1st try!!!! Please be more consistent with your scoring Dave!!!! Love watching all the videos!!! You da man sporting that (1 piece matching outfit) I have been in Florida for over 50 years, would not consider wearing that :)

I grew up near this place and have been countless times. It is by far the best pizza in the area. The pasta is great too.
