Yes, the Greeks made a baked flat round bread topped with oil, herbs and spices called Plankuntos which means exactly what the description says. The Italians made what is known as pizza today. Flat bead with tomatoes(or tomato sauce, with seasonings) cheese and olive oil. They named it Pizza because it’s kneaded, pounded into shape which makes it different than Plankutos. They are similar but not the same. Everyone knows the rules!

@@thatstruckin9432 I think the scores over the last 2 years can be brought into question. I’ll still watch for the entertainment value, but probably won’t take the scores as gospel anymore at this point.
I reviewed Kostas several months ago, his pizza is amazing and I gave him "A Real Pizza Review By A Real Italian" it's an 8.4 every day of the week

Kosta's is da bomb.. thats mah boy.. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're at your crazy Greek uncle's house. He treats his customers like family. Love that guy.. and the pizza is awesome.

Kosta's meatball pizza, made with the meatball sauce is unbelievable! And the Lemon potatoes....so good! And Kosta is a great guy.
We have a Greek fest here (Huntington, WV) every fall at the Greek orthodox church, and I swear there's a guy there that makes EXACTLY what you've described, and yes, it's Goddamn fantabulous. That, souvlaki, and the little delicious potatoes (and about a dozen Mythos beers, haha!) make me REAL happy.

That place is great! Definitely an 8.4! The Greek salad with grilled chicken is a 9.2!
At 2:18 he says it's light. Then, explains his lowered score due to it being heavy. We can see this pizza is in no way heavy just by sight. The other pizza looked great but we don't know if that was really feta or goat cheese. Looked more like ricotta. Hardly ever does Dave go somewhere that I think, Oh yeah, that place looks like a fantastic place to eat. This place is one of those rare places.

Hey Dave! Tried your frozen pizza for the second time today. First time was great. Second time i give it a one out of 100. Yes! It was that bad. Very heavy! No crisp when bitting into it, much too much flour was used. Wallmart in Northampton Mass. I would find out who made them. Ps. I spent 16 years cooking in kitchens. And a big pizza fan!

Kosta is a legend, went there today with my Uncle who’s been friends with him for decades. He’s closed Mondays but he gave us a free meal and showed us his new PBS feature on “Check Please”. Definitely worth a visit. The pizza is top tier and the tzatziki is 🔥
Light pizza but it’s heavy. Reminds me of my father yelling at his employees to take their time but hurry up with his heavy Greek accent.

@@arximalakas123 After I went to Greece (as an adult) and ate the gyro there, I only eat pork gyro or chicken gyro. The beef/lamb mystery meat (which most people in America know as "gyro") sucks once you try real gyro. Thankfully, I live in Queens, not far from Astoria, so there's plenty of places here with actual pork and chicken gyro.

American Greek restaurants are tricky. It’s hard to replicate the real thing when you don’t have Mediterranean produce. A lot of Greek restaurant food is too heavy and greasy, not saying it’s all bad, but it should be more fresh and vibrant than what you typically get.
