This may have been the most brutal 7.9 I’ve ever seen. Not only did the pizza completely deserve to be in the 8s, the owner was an absolutely wonderful class act

I've said this numerous times also. He's the boss he makes the rules he can change him as he sees fit. Someone shouldn't get screwed because he made a bad call, especially when he acknowledges it was a bad call
@@1Nevergone Do this. If he's unsure and has to go to Austin for a second opinion and he's thinking a different score, if Austin agrees, new score stands. That way 2 people decide rather than him being confused.

TBH, I think they went a little overboard with the menorah. For openers the owner is probably not Jewish and if he was, the pizza 🍕 would have to be made Kosher ✡️.

they pulled out all the stops and david rewards them with an underscored 7.9 smh.
Dave calling out Brown when he went to Michigan is like the old days when Dave used to suit up in the street hockey goalie gear and call out NHL players.
It's one's like this where Dave needs to bust out the 8.0. Rare score. It's not quite the 8.1's so he keeps that level just a bit higher but he elevates it out of the 7's. The 7.9 still really good but it's not quite sitting right.

It got in Dave’s head and he felt pressure to be a little tough with the score in fear of looking soft. He knew it the moment he scored it. Great guy though. Great looking pizza !!

That pie looks seriously good. Look at how there’s no grease all over the box. Yet it’s got no flop and it looks cheesy-kind people. I would go here any day of the week.
This is maybe my favourite episode. Ever. It's superb, like a short film. Portnoy has gone low, judged on some recent scoring, that could have been 8.3. However they don't care. Pres was gushing in his 7.9, so gushing, it should probably have been an 8.1. Hopefully they hang a banner that says "PORTNOY WAS HERE" on the wall outside.
If that pizza was from 170 miles SW from there and the owner told him his life story, it would have been an 8.2
Or if it had been there 40 plus years... lol

Watching these reviews can take my mind off the craziness going on around the world for a few minutes at a time. Looks like a great pizza. I hope this guy gets a lot more business. Nice hardworking appreciative family business.

I think the best score Dave can give is a 7.9. He actually genuinely cared about this family and he knows the repercussion of scoring over 8s to these businesses. Most of them become over burdened and they get demolished with their ratings online after people set their expectations too high. Daves score here was PERFECT. 7.9 gives them quality status, sets expectations lower which in turn causes higher reviews online and allows them the freedom of overcrowded traffic. I would go to this place in a heartbeat. This was the greatest review ive seen so far. Everyone knows this is in the 8s from the conversation and the extra downed pizza.

I really liked the look of that pizza. Reminds me of classic, old school, haven't changed the way they make them since the 1970s pizza parlor pizza. I saw 7.9/8.1 coming as soon as he opened the box. I thought all the "juice" would push it to 8.1, so it seems Dave "kept it real" by giving it a 7.9 instead. Solid looking pizza though, if this is your spot, good on ya.
It does look good. Should get a bonus decimal pt for that.

The owner and his family seems like genuinely very cool people. Dave knew in his heart this was somewhere in the low 8's, but rules are rules and everybody knows them
