Ulcerate - Shrines of Paralysis, Drown Within, or Destroyers of All. Their drummer is possibly on top of the metal drumming realm at the moment, and their guitar work is seriously abnormal. By far, a top 5 favorite band of mine in all of time.
Arian Ehteshami I just checked them out, rather interesting sound. I’m gonna delve into their new album, but which album of their discography do you think stands out the most?
@@tricksonafixed Yeah as others said EiF is probably their most favored work. But really, anything besides Vermis is a stand up album. They are very smart in how they improve their sound per album, just slight modifications that keep their originality but also allow the albums to sound different. After goreguts this is like a complete pallet cleanse although they're similar to someone not interested in metal. Funny how that works out sometimes. Ps: a lot of us love "jazz metal" as well as traditional metal.
Hi! I get what you mean and you can explain that by the fact that this was their first album and these guys were in their early twenties. And you can see them evolve/mature album after album. For your next reaction of this band, you should try "Earthborn Evolution" or "Sous la lueur de l'empereur", for a more jazzy feel.
Check out Rivers of Nihil's song The Subtle Change Including the forest of transition and dissatisfaction dance. The song is amazing and I promise you will find much to appreciate.
I would recommend checking out Alkaloid which is a tech death super group, and also the band Rings of Saturn if you want some unique alien themed tech death. I'd watch those reviews instantly
Not everyone will hear music the same, nor will enjoy compositions the same, your opinion to me, is valid. Music is like abstract art. Not everyone will see or hear the same things. Thanks for your reaction and opinions really nice to witness a different side of reactions. Love your channel! Stay safe and have a lovely day.
I know exactly what you mean, I saw at a show in Greenville SC, and they wear fantastic but I felt like there was something missing and you put that feeling in words. Great video! If you want some more tech death, check out Fallujah. I strongly recommend their songs "The Void Alone" and "Sapphire"
@Critical Reactions If you want unusual choices and some chaos: Deathspell Omega: Phosphene. The song Dearth is more or less an intro tho Phosphene, so you might want to listen to that to, otherwise jumping right into Phosphene is a bit much.
Loved that whole week, pretty good suggestions and picks overall. Maybe there will be a Black Metal Week in the forseeable future? If so, I'd suggest Fjoergyn. They are a german Avant-Garde Black Metal band with a very differing sound from album to album. I'd suggest "Freiheit" ("Freedom", pretty long but my favourite at the moment), "Vom Tod der Träume" ("Of the dreams death", it has unicorns!), "Ach sprich doch" ("Oh say something", a song about the nature of humanity), "Ich bin der Frost" ("I'm frost", a pretty unusual one, describing how winter takes over the world. In fact the whole album "Jahreszeiten" is unusual for Fjoergyn as it contains no social criticism and only a slight hint of mythology) and "Der Monolog des Antichristen" ("Tue Antichrists monologue", a comment on humanitys behaviour through the eyes of the antichrist). I doubt this band will get a video in the near future since it's not well known at all, but I think they deserve to be known by many more. In case you want some insight in the lyrics, I'd be honored to help, as I'm german myself.
You got me interested when I heard "avant-garde black metal" and the lyrics seems like interesting to read, definitely will check out. Do you know of "Panegyrist"? They're another avant-garde black metal band, formed in 2018, so they only released one record, Hierurgy. I you'd like, give it a listen and tell me your thoughts.
Never really warmed up with beyond creation, although my biggest turnoff always remained their production choices, rather than their songs or musicianship. I also would say that a lot of their songs are a bit lacking in highlights, apart from having cool ideas and being really well played obviously. Cool video!
And I do think that Earthborn Evolution, while suffering from the same problems to an extent, is the more coherent and memorable track between these two.
@@seepia8947 Earthborn Evolution and Algorithm are much stronger albums as a whole than The Aura. I don't get why people recommend Omnipresent Perception so much and so often. Yes, it's relatively good, but songs like Earthborn Evolution, Fundamental Process, Abstract Dialog, Theatrical Delirium, Surface's Echoes or Algorythm are much, much stronger from the compositional standpoint.
Have listened to Beyond Creation a lot, just suprised you didnt mention the bass more since that is definetly why a lot of people like this band and also somewhat what makes this band very unique. Other than that, this song has more of a deathmetal feel, with just cool riffs all over the place, some of their newer work are a lot different than this track, but still keeps the core identity, so maybe you will like that more. On another note, could you react to the band Oceans of Slumber - either Banished Heart or Decay of Disregard. Its not Tech Death, more of a doom metal/ progressive metal band??
Dude, I checked out Winter by them and was blown away. I really need to revisit them sometime and I think you might be the only person to request some tracks from them. If you want to see the reaction to Winter you can check it out on my Google Drive since it was blocked on YT. drive.google.com/open?id=14JFuJAgl94aMTanPJTeMSVOzVfLb2fd7
I think I get what you said with the jazz thing, specially since the groove change, you know the part before the gravity blast and all, it was all purely instrumental like building up to something and it ends up being another instrumental display and after that the song basically ends, it keeps the main section of the beginning just to make it sound like it's not just a bunch of random ideas put together. Maybe if they spread one of the solos and save it for later, like in Painkiller by Judas Priest
Great review again. What you mentioned about it feeling like a jazz song is actually what I appreciate about it and like you said, I feel it would take away from its identity if we were to rearrange it or remove the solo part altogether. Like someone else wrote in the comments, you would probably enjoy earthborn evolution more. I think however that though some of their other songs better pair complexity and cohesiveness, Omnipresent Perception is a good indication of what they do as a band.
Would be nice for you to cover some lesser known stuff - Check out A Sense of Gravity - Revenant + Guise of Complacency Playthrough. I have no idea how these guys haven't blown up yet. Your reactions are good, not over the top, very honest and well spoken.
You should definitively give another Canadian tech death band a chance: FIrst Fragment. They are also technical and brutal but they incorporate many ideas from classical music. Songs to check out are Gula, Le serment de Tsion or the instrumental Léntité
Paradoxica by Wide Eyes. Its somewhat similar to Arch Echonkn that it's an upbeat prog metal instrumental, but I personally think it's more tastefully restrained, less repetitive, and has such a good buildup. Also, it just has this inspiring emotional feel to it.
Good sir, listening to Langueage 1 by The Contortionist without listening to Language 2 right after is like listening to half a song! It's the 2nd movement with tons of goodies
I think my issue with early beyond creation was that it had an off production deal, like something wasn’t deep enough. But I can say their newest album(sadly they have a new bassist, but is also a complete beast so that’s good) and the production and weighting has gained a new level I’d highly recommend it.
I've been itching to see you react to, "Between the Buried and Me "Extremophile Elite" (LIVE)" since i found your channel. Love the videos, keep up the good work

A lot of their older fans dislike it, even i was unsure with my first listen, but I like the direction they're going in. I also appreciate the approach you take to reviewing songs. If you get the chance, a quite unknown band that's absolutely incredible is The World Is Quiet Here. Super proggy, and their only album is done as one big song, like BTBAM's Colors. If you wanna do a song, maybe the opener "Some Call Me Cynical" is probably a good bet.

I'm all about being open minded here. I might not enjoy something but that's no reason to tear down a song or completely write off band or genre. I try to instill these ideals into anyone who watches this as well. It's ok to not like something but it's not ok to trash art. And all music is art whether we personally *enjoyed* it or not. Glad to have you in the community and thanks for the sub!
You're in luck. Next week *is* Prog week. Get your seat belt buckled because we're in for a wild ride considering how popular these bands are that have been requested.
Hi, could you please check out Fair to Midland ? They were a progressive metal/rock band from Texas. The vocalist has really a lot to offer to the listeners. He has an incredibly wide range and a wide variety of screaming techniques I bet you haven't heard yet. I recommend you to listen to "See saw", "Gaining one" "Rikki tikki tavi" or "Dance of the manatee". He can also do mongolian throat singing. Bye
I feel the exact same regarding the solos. We get it. You're good. And you're killing the flow. Earthborn Evolution is pure ear candy all the way through, though.

I will make a 2nd request that you check out Reso - Tabris, please. It is very impressive! Also thank you for checking out this awesome band from Montreal!!! Home town represent! Their bassist in that video, which is no longer in the band is a Canadian legend of metal bass
Nevermore. Dead heart in a dead world, was the album that got me into them. Kind of a prog power metal. RIP Warrel Dane, hell of a singer. This song is the title track off Godless Endeavor. ruclips.net/video/lf_LbNjz6Z8/видео.html
This band has nothing to do with tech death but you should check out "Stolen Babies". They are some kind of avantgarde metal band with fermal vocals and accordion. My suggestion would be "Splatter" by them or if you like it more brutal go for "Mousefood"! :-)
With you shouting me out you know I have some knowledge in music and this isn't metal but I need you to check out Dirty Loops Toxic cover. Do it DO IT! Jazz fusion pop cover thats absolutely insane!
I've checked out Dirty Loops here before and it was amazing. I'm interested in how they would take their technical creativity and apply it to a standard pop track.
To get into beyond creation you need to look at their other song omnipresent isn’t that great and their old album feels a little old now besides coexistence their second album is full of bangers and is so unique and sounds like no other band, their third album fits so well together and is very matured and feels like a complete story its as well their most technical and difficult songs so I recommend surfaces exhoes, the inversion, or in adversity. My favorite song by them is fundamental process from the second album which has multiple solos but it fits so well together and gives me chill and was the reason I got into them so definitely listen/ react to the fundamental process
Love the fretless bass and the bass parts throughout the song, but the song lost of all of its momentum with that bass solo in my opinion, solo section probably would’ve been fine without it, but otherwise I agree.
Hey man! :) you HAVE to react to „Unprocessed - Abandoned“ PLEAAASE! A german, young progressive Metal Band... so much talent! You will Enjoy :) stay healthy & keep the great work going :)
I completely respect what you're saying about this song but I totally disagree. To me, the whole solo section and just everything that happens all through-out IS the story of the song. Like toooootally agreed that soloists and solo sections and over-obsessive solo energy can ruin a song and make it feel wanky, but to me, the way it happens in this song genuinely feels like it's story. Like, you can technically write a story about playing music itself, no? And I feel this song does have an energy or correctly make a statement about "yes we're playing music" with it's solo section. It's good! I dunno.
I think it is their worst song (that they have a video for) No idea why everyone is always recommending it. Other songs are more coherent IMO with the same tasteful solos (but less of them or more split up). Earthborn Evolution maybe?
Dude. Earthborn evolution. Dont wait. Hear it.

You should do a prog week, and do Karnivool - Goliath, Simple Boy or New Day :)
You're in luck. Next week *is* Prog week. Get your seat belt buckled because we're in for a wild ride considering how popular these bands are that have been requested.
I would be interested to see you react to Blotted Science and/or Car Bomb.
Necrophagist - Diminished to b
Their song writing has matured a lot over time, the vocalist writes all the music and was like 22ish when he wrote this album.
Dude, react to Beyond Creation - Coexistence. Breakdown makes me lost money for a neck surgery.
Just gonna drop a request for Allegaeon's Proponent For Sentience III - The Extermination here
Or any Car Bomb's song 😀
You definitely check out Gorod-Elements and Spirit, this is the highest level metal imo.
I think you absolutely need to review where owls know my name from rivers of nihil it will put you to sleep in the best way possible it's like floating through a sombre dream of deceptive beauty
That was such a great song. I really should get around to revisiting Rivers of Nihil one of these days: ruclips.net/video/ZYiQx7cYIQw/видео.html

This band has nothing to do with tech death but you should check out "Stolen Babies". They are some kind of avantgarde metal band with fermal vocals and accordion. My suggestion would be "Splatter" by them or if you like it more brutal go for "Mousefood"! :-)
You should check out Enter Shikari as well
I personally believe that The Aura or Coexistence would have been a better song selection.
Definitely chrck out Return to Earth by the Contortionist. That whole record would be right up your alley
I would recomend Rings of Saturn - Mental Prolapse :)
OKAY!!! Understandable 😪😪
check Dawn Of Dementia - Matrix Of Oblivion
This is there most beginner friendly songs with being in straight 4/4 and simple structure some of their other stuff goes way more intense
Would really love to see you do Colossus by In Mourning, great great great song
To get into beyond creation you need to look at their other song omnipresent isn’t that great and their old album feels a little old now besides coexistence their second album is full of bangers and is so unique and sounds like no other band, their third album fits so well together and is very matured and feels like a complete story its as well their most technical and difficult songs so I recommend surfaces exhoes, the inversion, or in adversity. My favorite song by them is fundamental process from the second album which has multiple solos but it fits so well together and gives me chill and was the reason I got into them so definitely listen/ react to the fundamental process
Earthborn Evolution is a far superior song, imo. Definitely check it out.
Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize
Love your videos man, please check out Ants of the Sky - Between the Buried and Me, I think you’ll really enjoy it! Also ‘Prequel to the Sequel’
Already done my friend, and that song is certainly a trip. ruclips.net/video/WcuOEFS9qZ0/видео.html
Please react to the song Bedroom Community. by the band glass Beach. I really think you’ll like it
Love the fretless bass and the bass parts throughout the song, but the song lost of all of its momentum with that bass solo in my opinion, solo section probably would’ve been fine without it, but otherwise I agree.
Last album is less brutal and has more diversity in their composition, you should check it out !
Hey man! :) you HAVE to react to „Unprocessed - Abandoned“ PLEAAASE! A german, young progressive Metal Band... so much talent! You will Enjoy :) stay healthy & keep the great work going :)
Check out this band: öOoOoOoOoOo - rules of the show. They are very unique
You have to return to these guys and listen to Earthborn Revolution.
Harakiri For The Sky - Jhator
Now listen to Teramobil. It's a more unconventional project that the bassist is in. Also First Frament and Augury for more of his stuff.
Be'lakor smoke of many fires please for thr love of god
Should have done coexistence
Dream Theater called, they want their mojo back.
React to Earthborn Evolution, i think you will like it
Car Bomb - Sets
I completely respect what you're saying about this song but I totally disagree. To me, the whole solo section and just everything that happens all through-out IS the story of the song. Like toooootally agreed that soloists and solo sections and over-obsessive solo energy can ruin a song and make it feel wanky, but to me, the way it happens in this song genuinely feels like it's story. Like, you can technically write a story about playing music itself, no? And I feel this song does have an energy or correctly make a statement about "yes we're playing music" with it's solo section. It's good! I dunno.
These solos were stuck in my head for days after hearing this song.
Fall of Troy fcpremix
Fermeted ofal discharge by Necrophagist
React to Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - The Companions
I'm with you. This band is way overhyped. People go crazy for audible fretless bass.
Cynic - How could I, try that one.
when you say overuse harmonics the only thing that comes to mind is black label society lmao. Still love zakk wylde though!@
You HAVE to listen to earthborn evolution by these guys. It’s much better than this song. Their whole second album is a level above their first.
The solo was the bass! Listen to the timing! Pacing? Hey man, this is what happens if a bass leads, the guitar was rythm! Far from jazz!
I think it is their worst song (that they have a video for) No idea why everyone is always recommending it. Other songs are more coherent IMO with the same tasteful solos (but less of them or more split up). Earthborn Evolution maybe?
Yeah, Earthborn Evolution is far superior to this track.
imo the song is very repetitive
