Thanks for the vid! love these little tonka trucks. Vastly easier to work on than most other vehicles and are reliable as can be.

Did you need to remove the wire harness at the front of the motor? Anything else you needed to remove?

If you didnt already know the oil pressure gauge aleays reads low on these trucks.

Thanks. She seems to run fine but the oil pressure gauge shows very little at idle. The shop manual says the spec at idle is only 3-4psi so I guess it’s ok. The truck had not been well cared for before I acquired it so I decided to check the pickup screen and tube to be sure it was clean and free of sludge.

Yes, I have a '97 and after doing some research on line it appears these T-100 are known for low pressure reading but run fine.

From what I was told is that they had low oil pressure (compared to other vehicles & engines) because Toyota made the tolerances so small & precision that they didn't need a lot of oil pressure. Mine was low from day one. I don't remember at the moment but it seems like my 95 3.4l manual 4wd, I don't think the cross member even came apart like yours....could be though. I remember reading something about lifting engine to remove oilpan but again, I could be wrong....mine was a 95.
