Yeah but you have to understand what things might be insensitive to certain demographics. You have to tailor your ads to your audience's sensibilities if you're going to sell something to them.
Oh no. Please don't use the "Like a Girl" campaign as a "good" example. I'm a girl myself and I absolutely despise those ads. You can be a strong woman without yelling it in people's faces.
Eggward Exactly, if women are capable of becoming great like men, which they are, then you shouldn't have to make such a big deal about it every time one does. That just makes it seem like they're disadvantaged from the start and had to 'overcome' something limiting about their own nature.
@Stale Bagelz Thats word for word whats happening. People getting offended over everything to the point they actually f-ing invent things to be offended about, such as cultural appropriation. Special thanks to the liberal psychopaths.
I bet if they showed Kenya as a futuristic utopia less people would complain, but then again theyd say it was insensitive for ignoring the economic problems the country has. No matter what stance you take theres always a way to be offended by something
Lol i thought the same about Trump saying Haiti is a shithole. I mean, clearly its a shithole, and if he said that it was fine you can bet they'd say "he's ignoring the issues they face". Can't win!
@Mantonio Manderas I'm pretty sure he also called the entire continent of Africa a shithole, and there are pretty decent countries in Africa, not all of them are Libya or South Sudan.
I didn't see how the shoe company was disparaging Kenyan economics and poverty by depicting a shoeless runner. The point of the commercial was highlighting the fact that many Kenyan long distance runners customarily run bare footed. It's not that they can't afford shoes. They choose to run without shoes because natural body mechanics allow for more efficient shock absorption. In other words, they believe our feet are naturally constructed to run. Shoes, even "training" ones put their athletes at a disadvantage. Or did I miss something?
Commenters are all up in arms about people getting offended or being too sensitive... Like yeah obviously a lot of us are jaded AF, I'll admit I cracked up at the baby catapult one. But honestly if you're spending millions on a TV spot you have to prioritize mass appeal or you're just wasting money. If your ad is dark just air it on adult swim or some late night program, not the superbowl AKA sports for normies
Getting folks to talk about the ad and company, is the key to these heavily overly priced ads ($2million+ for 30 seconds). And that is exactly what these ads did.
Bmwmotorsportguy you knuckleheads do realize that before words like "PC" and "SJW" were even a thing people have been complaining that it's "soccer moms" and "conservatives" that were "ruining everything" as a proud member of the younger generation and open progressive i just want to say that i (and most people in my group) think that throwing a baby against a wall is hilarious. over sensitive killjoys are over sensitive killjoys. don't blame me and my peers for it
TheShockinglyEloquentDog woof but you do understand that mums will feel offended that a ad has quite literally toddler abuse in it and not the funny kind like in South Park. Some stuff can get away in animation but when you play a live action ad it just feels more real then „just“ a cartoon. Also in my opinion some Jokes shouldn’t make other people miserable just for you to get a quick laugh out of it(unless it’s a show already known for its humor like family guy so you can simply ignore it while others enjoy the content). Super Bowl should unite not diverse
You forgot religion and politics. I remember the Doritos and Pepsi commercial making fun of the Catholic Church using Doritos as the Eucharist and Pepsi as wine to get more people to come to church. That was one historic screw up that cost them plenty.
>Natuonwide: A little boy in our ad died in accident No one bats an eyelash >Homeaway: A baby got a concussion in our ad Everyone goes insane The nationwide ad was worse since it was extremely depressing and I was on the verge of tears watching it.... poor little boy.......
Funny how most of the comments here are about how "whiny sjw's should stop getting offended at everything." It's almost like someone else being offended at anything "triggers" you.
Woah Bandicoot That woman is actually schizophrenic, not a feminist. Someone just called her that to be funny, she has nothing to do with feminism. Do even an iota of research before spreading misinformation.
@TheChickenRiceBowl It's crazy how you get less thumbs up for correcting misinformation. But someone created complete bull gets all the thumbs up. :U Apparently information is arbitrary to some people.
Well maybe you should look into something more before speaking out on it and then claiming that person is affiliated with a group? It'll make you have more credit and not have to go back and change your original comment. .
When I was growing up my mom told me sticks and stones will break my bones but names can never hurt me shame we can’t teach that again instead of a world full of people offended over everything
Sees baby hitting window: My child suffered a head injury don't make fun of that! Yeah right that's like seeing someone cough in a commercial and say "Someone I knew died of pneumonia, don't make fun of that!"
I've never seen the full ad. The clips here don't really say what is so offensive. The white people put shoes on the guys feet? Was it the drugging that is offensive?
mrmaxpowers2 no, because in Africa runners usually run barefeet and in the Ad a group of jackasses hunt down a African runner to force him to wear sneakers (yes, they are forcing him or else he wouldn’t run away of the car). Also they make the runner act like an animal who gets saved by the white men for its own good as if he’s some kind of underdeveloped cavemen
People need to grow up and stop being sentitive to every little thing put before their eyes. Sure, ads do occasionally evoke feelings of sadness, anger, etc. but that's the entire point.
People in the comments getting angry about people that were offended...relax, dudes. Yes they're probably being a bit too sensitive, but its not that big of a deal.
OK that makes no sense how are they saying they are making fun of head injury its like saying me recording my self accidently stubing my toe am I making fun of toes injury?
“making light of head injuries” it’s an ad for the Super Bowl- seems pretty fitting to me
willow lovegood oml im crying 😂
HAHA 100% spot on!
I agree, the entire game should be called "Head Trauma and Catch Ball too I Guess."
Alex What? He was making a joke.
Alex bruh, don’t get so overworked. It’s a joke mate
All I see is Tide
Its a Tide ad
CHL41993 pods getting eaten
No, Tide
SO DELICIOUS!!!!
Pods
some commercials, sure, they're terrible. but everything else seems to just be a sensitivity mob being all angry.
It's just going to backfire on them like it has before. The social environment they created is one of the reasons trump got elected
Yeah but you have to understand what things might be insensitive to certain demographics. You have to tailor your ads to your audience's sensibilities if you're going to sell something to them.
That's what any reaction to anything can be considered.
Split Second Magician the only one that seemed just bad was the dog one
What's wrong with having feelings and sympathy for others
People are going to get offended no matter what's put in the ad.
They know but they calculate if it's worth it. They target the most liquid demographic (women) who are the ones getting offended about kids and pets.
William Crowe let me guess...you're a white male?
That's the society we live in unfortunately...
William Crowe 0bjhuhbjknfijdn
chellebelle914 let me guess, your a black female. I totally didn't just look at your profile picture...
Oh no. Please don't use the "Like a Girl" campaign as a "good" example. I'm a girl myself and I absolutely despise those ads. You can be a strong woman without yelling it in people's faces.
Jon Boner for example, the “can you *hit* like a girl?
Same. Ugh they're obnoxious. Confidence is silent.
Eggward Exactly, if women are capable of becoming great like men, which they are, then you shouldn't have to make such a big deal about it every time one does. That just makes it seem like they're disadvantaged from the start and had to 'overcome' something limiting about their own nature.
I can agree more.
Plus the girls in the ad were like “I throw like a girl” and their form is so bad that you have to be like, “yah, you kinda do”
My feelings are hurt. BAN EVERYTHING
Aiden Ocelot I’m really offended that you would suggest banning me
#mylifematters
Aiden Ocelot pretty much
@Stale Bagelz
Thats word for word whats happening. People getting offended over everything to the point they actually f-ing invent things to be offended about, such as cultural appropriation.
Special thanks to the liberal psychopaths.
Th point of an advertisement is to sell a product. Hurting a majority of "peoples feelings" makes the product less desirable.
dspsblyuth sence your offended u get to ban him now lol
I was commercial at that offended.
Evan Brace my commercial too
What
Yes so was I!
i was so
i hog that hate hedge
But.. was it a tide ad?
Uhhh someone walked uhhh my daughter is in a wheelchair uhhh insensitive
JanetFunkYeah mkay
Love this comment, Bunta!
Michael Caplin thanks
JanetFunkYeah Excuse me my friend fell into a pit uhhhh insensitive much?
"So what went wrong with the super-"
Cbc News: *EVERYTHING.* *Everything went wrong.*
"Ok lol"
Except the outcome of the game, that went quite well. ;)
The Sexy Mr. Clean ad was the best advertisement ever. Am right or am I right?
Isa The Iguana Right
I bet if they showed Kenya as a futuristic utopia less people would complain, but then again theyd say it was insensitive for ignoring the economic problems the country has. No matter what stance you take theres always a way to be offended by something
Lol i thought the same about Trump saying Haiti is a shithole. I mean, clearly its a shithole, and if he said that it was fine you can bet they'd say "he's ignoring the issues they face".
Can't win!
Correct it is a shithole.
@Mantonio Manderas I'm pretty sure he also called the entire continent of Africa a shithole, and there are pretty decent countries in Africa, not all of them are Libya or South Sudan.

You can win - say it needs support, not that it's a shithole.
Commenters are all up in arms about people getting offended or being too sensitive...
Like yeah obviously a lot of us are jaded AF, I'll admit I cracked up at the baby catapult one. Tea Lizard how dare you use reason on the internet!
Getting folks to talk about the ad and company, is the key to these heavily overly priced ads ($2million+ for 30 seconds). And that is exactly what these ads did.
Thats impossible you'll always affend someone no matter what you do or say
An add has to appeal to the masses because they are being shown to the masses
>using the term "normies"
I think the people that complain about these adds don't understand what a joke is.
PC culture killing the super bowl's ads. The worst ad here was the M. Clean ad.
I love the Mr. Clean ad, I think it's hilarious
The man was sexually harassed. Flip the role, let's see what the SJW thinks.
Bmwmotorsportguy you knuckleheads do realize that before words like "PC" and "SJW" were even a thing people have been complaining that it's "soccer moms" and "conservatives" that were "ruining everything" as a proud member of the younger generation and open progressive i just want to say that i (and most people in my group) think that throwing a baby against a wall is hilarious. over sensitive killjoys are over sensitive killjoys. don't blame me and my peers for it

hmm i like all of these ads
Zag Zagzag i like your Profile pic
Hmmm wholesome
Don't hurt my feelings
You're commenting on here...........so it's stirred up some feelings in you. Let it out spooky, let it all out.
I'd enjoy to hurt their feelings than seeing ppl getting upset. That's what I would do dude
I don't at all understand why the sports shoes ad featuring the black guy was offensive.
Sizzle Same and I'm black.
IKR This is ridiculous
Sizzle I think it's because they were "hunting" him down like a wild animal.
Probably because they were tracking him like an animal. It also made light of the huge wealth disparity between the West and Africa.
Alex F But isn't it good to bring awareness about the huge difference in wealth in Africa compared to the west?
The black guy running did not seem very offensive. I think people just need to grow up.
Ok I know not to get offended by this stuff but you can still get sad right cause the dog one 😢
Someone’s a cat person
Bonz Galloway no i hate cats
dat crazy bunker same XD
Oh okay
See I didn’t think you were that toxic 😆
remember the golden age when people had a good sense of humor and a skin thicker than wet tissue paper?
such a long time ago
I miss that
Nope.
I was born in a sad, sad time for humor(2003)
I would love to make a commercial that pisses off all people after watching this.
You forgot religion and politics. I remember the Doritos and Pepsi commercial making fun of the Catholic Church using Doritos as the Eucharist and Pepsi as wine to get more people to come to church. That was one historic screw up that cost them plenty.
From what I remember, James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd) was in said Doritos ad
I'm offended by overly sensitive liberals.
Conservative people are more likely to get offended too... you know
You sound like the type to get overly offended if someone says otherwise.
And you think the liberals are the sensitive ones, huh. Turns out conservatives don’t pay attention to their ACTUAL surroundings after all.
Last time I checked conservatives don't cry when people get their 79th gender wrong.
Stewartsaurus But they'll cry if you take their 50th divorce lawyer, or wannabe AK47 away.
why didn't you mention the nationwide ad?! That was woohoo much worse than thrones in this vid!
There all tide commercials anyway!
Take the Tide pod challenge and taste the difference! : D
Domenico Pasquarelli what???
>Natuonwide: A little boy in our ad died in accident
No one bats an eyelash
>Homeaway: A baby got a concussion in our ad
Everyone goes insane
The nationwide ad was worse since it was extremely depressing and I was on the verge of tears watching it.... poor little boy.......

@TheChickenRiceBowl
It's crazy how you get less thumbs up for correcting misinformation.
But someone created complete bull gets all the thumbs up. :U Apparently information is arbitrary to some people.
I'M TRIGGERED.
Look at this loser getting triggered over people complaining about how people get triggered over nothing.
Well maybe you should look into something more before speaking out on it and then claiming that person is affiliated with a group?
It'll make you have more credit and not have to go back and change your original comment. .
"test baby"
LMAOOOOOOOOO
1. Terrible video, disliked
2. Add "politics" to the list of topics super bowl ads shouldn't deal with (e.g. T-Mobile)
THERE AREN'T ANY TRANS PEOPLE IN THIS VIDEO, ITS TRANSPHOBIC !!!!!! WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM SO OFFENDED!!!! I DEMAND THEY REMOVE IT !!! REPORTING IT!!!!
Your average liberal in a nutshell.
neh you both are the butthurt white boys hate women and minorities having an opinion.
BlaqueCzar you just got offended by nothing so...
Well if no one could tell... it was a joke cause everyone instantly fought
BlaqueCzar I’m a Female minority, and I say your comment was a waste of brain cells. Go back to Tumblr.
I am highly commercials by these offended.
that baby crashing in the window it the best can't stop replaying that part XDXD
Okay that baby ad is hilarious, Lighten up.
I can see that baby ad being triggering, it's pretty graphic
that was a jello pudding baby, made by bill cosby.
*the thumbnail tho*
People are just to sensitive
too*
3:57 All i could see was a Tide ad
Nah, that Go Daddy commercial made me laugh.
Ok the test baby was freaking hilarious
I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT BABY COMMERCIAL IN SOO LONG! I had nightmares.
4:01: Sara?
It's a Tide Ad.
No it’s a mr clean ad
Nintendo Switch no, look at their shirts
soliD nolliD oh ok I get it thank you
That baby commercial made me laugh lmao
Wait the mr Clean commercial was received well? I am terrified of that uncanny valley thing...
It’s a Tide Ad
Why hasn’t “they still whip up an amazing fish curry” become a meme
The test baby one was hilarious
When I was growing up my mom told me sticks and stones will break my bones but names can never hurt me shame we can’t teach that again instead of a world full of people offended over everything
I find nothing wrong in any of them wth
1:00 i was dying laughing at that baby.
what was wrong with the foot ad?
People are offended by everything nowadays.
Sees baby hitting window: My child suffered a head injury don't make fun of that!
Yeah right that's like seeing someone cough in a commercial and say "Someone I knew died of pneumonia, don't make fun of that!"
hurting children = ok
hurting animals = ULTIMATE SIN
I didn't even know about some of these commercial failures lol😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just For Feet's Super Bowl ad actually caused the whole company to go out of business.
*No joke.*
People it’s a COMMERCIAL. Just, don’t get offended by it.
I had multiple head injuries as a child, and I laughed like hell at the Test Baby.
Leave Kenya out of this! We like running without shoes!
Ngl that puppy advert made me sad I love puppies
Okay. I’ll admit Just for Feet was too far
The "test baby" joke is hilarious, coming from someone that had to be nice to children, no matter what those things do.
>watching the superbowl for the commericals
>actually wanting to watch a 30 second advertisement trying to sell you things
sheep
What are the names of these songs thoo
that Alec Baldwin shade tho 😂
I just got a superbowl ad before watching this
Actually, if these advertisers were to put those things in a movie, no one would look twice
People need to grow up and stop being sentitive to every little thing put before their eyes. Sure, ads do occasionally evoke feelings of sadness, anger, etc. but that's the entire point.
That HomeAway ad was just disturbing!
you literally can not even look at someone without offending them nowadays
that fish curry line make me lol (in the literal sense)
People in the comments getting angry about people that were offended...relax, dudes. Yes they're probably being a bit too sensitive, but its not that big of a deal.
Lol the baby test one!
That guy looks like the Gordon Ramsay of advertising
We don't need _companies_ to be less insensitive, we need _people_ to be less sensitive!
...what was wrong with the just for feet ad?
It's people with nothing better to do usually a stay at home parents that get involved in everything.
SNL got letters when they did a skit about a stunt baby in the 1970s and that was just Bill Murray with a doll.
What you didn't know is that it's actually a tide ad.
OMG!! There was air in this commercial!! I am SO offended.😲
my favorite one was the danny devito m&m one. That one was great.
my favorite commercial was the black screen that sat for 2 minutes
Anyone remember the Nationwide commercial a few years back
That Groupon ad was pretty funny lol
"most insensitive company in the world" HAHA!
"you're making light of head injuries to children"
Yup. In reality? Terrible. In fiction, made over-the-top? Hilarious. I laughed at the dog one, too.
What went wrong with CBC news? Everything. Everything went wrong.
what if I make an equally insensitive ad? think they'd get pissed if I forgot a culture or two
A ranch commercial showed up before this video
liked like they stunned the runnin one and gave him shoes... so the react like you force a pet into shoes :D
OK that makes no sense how are they saying they are making fun of head injury its like saying me recording my self accidently stubing my toe am I making fun of toes injury?
I'm sorry, that Mr. Clean ad felt very wrong to me.
If there was an ad for Tide, it should have been called -bowl of tide pods- the Tide Bowl.
I was watching this and then I was like TF HAPPENED HERE!?
that baby one actually messed with my head I feel so disturbed for some reason it's to late for me to be watching this
As we have learned, the perpetually offended will continue to be perpetually offended no matter what you do.
Okay, the baby thing made me laugh because it reminded me of something GWAR would do.
Ouch. Watching something on a screen physically hurt my emotion over a subject I didn't realize existed....help.
All of those commercials seems perfectly fine and they look like great commercials that arnt afraid to offend a little chunk of people.
Some people just sit desperately trying to find a way to be offended.
I believe these commercials are all wrong, but people still take them too personally :/
I don't see any problems with any of these commercials
