Hi Joe, tell us your thoughts on the hip abductor and adductor machines at the gym. They were immensely popular with the introduction of Nautilus in the early 80's. I personally enjoyed the abduction exercise back then. However, it seems like they're seldom used by men at the gym today. And my impression is that many young women do abduction today as an additional glute exercise. I've been thinking of incorporating machine abduction again in my workout, especially because I hear of so many hip replacements these days. I'm bringing on 70 and not overweight. So, as a practitioner, what do you think specifically about the abductor machine to avert hip ailments down the road. Thanks and stay well.

Great question. Not sure why men tend to stay away from those particular machines. Your hips could certainly benefit from the abductor machine. I would use it.
