    In today's video, I demonstrate how to fix your painful, sore achilles tendonitis by using massage balls to perform myofascial release therapy.
    Your 2 main muscles of your calves, the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles, form the achilles tendon. The achilles tendon attaches to the heel bone (calcaneus).
    When fascial adhesions (scar tissue) builds up in the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles, it creates a loss of elasticity in these muscles. The muscles also shorten. The end result is "tugging" on the achilles tendon resulting in inflammation. Hence, achilles tendonitis.
    Massage balls, such as the Tai Chi Balls from OcraMed Health, can be very effective at "breaking up" these fascial adhesions.
    Give these myofascial release techniques a try, and leave a comment down below letting me know how your treatment's progressing.

    What are the main causes of adhesions?

    • @OcraMedHealth
      @OcraMedHealth  28 дней назад

      Adhesions can result from trauma (major hamstrings strain) and/or microtrauma (repetitive small strains/sprains). Also posture can result in adhesions. For example, someone who sits all day longs leaves their hip flexor muscles in a shorten position for hour and hours, day after day, month after month, year after year. This will result in adhesion build up. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for writing in!
