Hey Dave, I made my own using a set of skate board trucks, not quite as easy use as your gizmo though. One thing I have yet to attempt, is to cut off the very bottom of the bottle, and to use an Ultra Violet activated adhesive to stick it to the neck of the bottle, to form a wine glass, but I've seen it done, and it looks kinda cool. Some bottles have nice imprints or logos on them, so I cut those to make tea light holders, either by cutting off the top, and filling the bottom with some sand or small rocks so the tea light doesn't sit on the glass, or by cutting off the very bottom, and using the rest of the bottle as a kind of glass shade, like a storm lantern. The glass can get warm like that though, but I've not had one break yet.

Using them as a vase or or holder is fine. Don't use them to drink from. They are liable to break, and if someone makes the mistake of putting them in the dishwasher, they can shatter all over your dishes.

I saw something like this but with a string dipped in alcohol after it was measured around the bottle you want and set on fire for about a minute and then do the same as the rest of this video. That'd be cool to see Dave do something like that too

Normally you use leather gloves or other heavy fabric, the rubber gloves you wore don't do much to stop a shard of glass.
