i recently got the jacket and hoodie. I must say they are phenomenal. I also have the m12 scope kit, impact drill and driver, as well as the 800 lumen flashlight that is by far the best flashlight I have ever owned. 2 months ago I was all about snap on and craftsman. Milwaukee has earned every penny of my business and will continue to do so with products of such quality.
Although, my hoodie got caught on a tailgate lowered as I was walking by in our body shop by someone not paying attention and it ripped and I cannot afford a new one anytime soon so that sucks. And my co worker refuses to pay for it. But maybe next year theyll have a new model I can buy of the hoodie. I never even got to use the heat on it before i learned to use it 😟
Looking at these for my husband and for myself (the ladies version for me). Great video overview! I think we're sold. I had no idea about the USB port. Nice!
Love the jacket and love the video. My only issue so far has been the battery. When driving, it sticks right in my back. I didn’t notice till now about the pocket inside the pocket, maybe that makes a difference.
Stylish, good in the rain but doesn't heat up like I thought it would. You'll never need the white and blue settings. At night, in the street, I was asked about it by a stranger, and I simply replied 'I'm living in the future'
You can use M18 or M12 batteries. You just need to get the M18 power source adaptor and it can be plugged in as the jacket is designed to allow both battery volatages
Hey Jeff! Another great video as usual. How is the sizing of the jacket - fitted/loose? Does it feel fairly weighted with the battery? And do you notice the battery at all while wearing it? Thanks again for the review and your time.
+Steve Kane thanks, the box has a size chart on it so I'd go off of that. Initially I was told to buy a size that fitted snug so the heat could work better. It makes sense that you want the jacket closer to you so that the warmth transfers to the skin. You will notice the battery since it's an M12. But if you're using it outside in the winter I'd say give the jacket a shot. Home Depot carries them online, check on their return policy just in case 👍
Two major omissions in this review. 1) How much heat does it generate? Coupled with the coat material how well does it keep you warm while either active or just sitting, and at what temperature? 2) This jacket has the strong outer material which says it will last 5X longer. Didn't you think that important? Good to mention that you can't charge your phone & heat the jacket at the same time, but... Did you think to mention that the pocket is big enough to hold two batteries? ... one for each use? Or that you can use larger Amp batteries? Or, even convert 18 V batteries to 12V for ultra long use, say when hunting or other long outdoorsy activity? Or is this battery pocket different from the other Milwaukee jackets and not adapt to size? :-)
PetePixxx my buddy just bought one and he’s returning it. Even on the hottest setting it barely warms up. Unless he got one that’s defective they’re junk. I tested it myself and you feel almost no heat.
Do not expect it to get HOT. It will get warm, some degrees above body temperature but not hot. If you have a lot of time being inactive in the cold then you maybe will appreciate it. If you’re constantly active in the cold then I wouldn’t buy it. Keep in mind the run time is probably measured on a low setting. So you possibly wont get those high time limits. I personally already have the m18 adapter to use my 18volt batteries in hopes of longer run times on HIGH setting.
I'm interested in this jacket. I normally wear medium and will get this in medium. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? Just want to make sure that medium is the right size for me.
Doesn't seem to make sense that the battery is a cylinder shape rather than something flatter to be more form-fitting. Are there other compatible batteries available with better form factors?
I understand that you can purchase any after market battery pack as long as it's output is 12v. There are many to choose from on Amazon with higher capacity which will get you longer heating time...and they are flat.
These are designed for the person who already has or is getting into the Milwaukee tool line so there's synergy between tools and jacket. Its the only reason i bought these jackets instead of dewalt . I have tons of dewalt tools and just one milwaukee because i needed an easy to one hand sawzall. I decided to get these jackets instead of getting a second battery for my Hackzall and also because the m12 is WAY smaller than the dewalt jacket battery design.
Is it really a good jacket? I do work outside in the UK most of the time and winter can be chilly but not NY chilly. Just curious if it would be too much for just walking the dog on the cold winter nights. Only really hits about - 10c here at real worst.
jaythepioneer yeah it's worth picking up Milwaukee has nailed it again. If you work or ride in the cold you need this gear! I bought it years ago when they launched the M12 heated jackets. This being my second they stepped up again. New m12 extended batteries with a usb charger integrated. I've been sweating with this under my leather in -7* temps. Best jacket I have ever purchased hands down.
Hey do you think a jacket like this is a good jacket for people that re not in the trade? I'm just considering this over a full on winter jacket. It's only about 200$ here.
I have both jackets. The battery sits off to the side enough it doesn't bother me. I usually forget that its even there. Just every once in a while I have to move it over a bit but its WAY worth it
Thanks for the info Jeff! Great video. I'm actually impressed with this new jacket because it looks pretty sleek. I'm curious to see your review after the winter and wearing it through the cold. I feel like all heated jackets you will notice a battery pack but if it's that cold I don't think you'd care lol #TIACREW
Philip Dove. They make m12 jackets but m18 adapters. I own one. It has a usb port as well. I just need the jacket. The 18v 2.0 Ah batteries will fit best i think.
Garbage compared to cheaper ones on amazon n it dosent have a hoodie tha best i found n bought frm Amazon is A Brand Called Dewbu Heated Waterproof jacket which was only 109$ comes with Rechargable battery Had for about 3weeks n im very Satisfied with my Jacket..
I have both jackets. The battery sits off to the side enough it doesn't bother me. I usually forget that its even there. Just every once in a while I have to move it over a bit but its WAY worth it
To charge your phone and heat the jacket. Simply unplug the battery from the jacket. Start charging the phone then plug in the jacket.
Very nice narrative on the Milwaukee M12 heated toughshell.
GREAT JOB!
Wow, very helpful video! Thank you:)
I’m looking to buy one and you got me hyped about working in this crazy cold weather here in Washington!
We got them a few years ago and jacket is quite warm as is without needed to turn the heat on for us up here in North of Toronto

+Derek Blaas that sucks!! Sorry to hear his happened, maybe Milwaukee would help out? Try calling and share your story...it's a long shot but worth it
Awesome review. I was able to find this jacket here in Canada so I’m really excited to try it out..
Thank YOu! Just got my jacket everything was their exempt for the instruction manual! You saved my Milwaukee experience!
I have the older model heated zip up hoodie like the one you are wearing. haven't used it yet (except when it was warm). Looking forward to it.
wore that hoodie all last winter in PGH. Loved it...might be hard to give it up
Looking at these for my husband and for myself (the ladies version for me). Great video overview! I think we're sold. I had no idea about the USB port. Nice!
Also check out the new hoodies, they're awesome and in many ways I like them better; a bit more comfortable
Love the jacket and love the video. My only issue so far has been the battery. When driving, it sticks right in my back. I didn’t notice till now about the pocket inside the pocket, maybe that makes a difference.

You'd think they would make a more ergonomic battery specifically for the heated clothing
solid review, thanks, picking one up soon
+bryan vicquery cool, let me know your thoughts

+Nexus Seven good to know, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video. Bought it second hand. Didnt know about the USB or the grommets.
I'm from New England so I feel it's a necessity after 28 years without one. lol
But as we age it becomes a nice feature. Not everyone is 28 years old. And yes, it is much colder in Canada.
You better fire up that jacket with some extra batteries handy this Thurs & Fri here in the Burgh! :)
+D.P.T for real, it's coooold!!! Go Steelers!!!

Bought one 200.00 tuff fabric XL home depot very well engineered very warm love it way to go Milwaukee 😉
I just bought one a size too big and the heat was not reaching my back. I returned it and will be buying a tighter fitting heated hoodie
+Jeepguys Garage I wear one size smaller as well
Hey jeff how tall are you? Looking into buying one before winter because they are usually limited
Great review looking forward to follow up.
At what outside temperature can you stay warm with this jacket?
sandy ray and the winner of the most stupid question on RUclips goes to you!
Steve James to someone who has a tiny brain it will seem stupid.
sandy ray 😂😂😂 ok
42 degrees..who needs a heated jacket.....boy are we spoiled
Maybe you should plug it into a 480 line to be extra toasty while wearing it.
thanks for the shout out my kids think im so cool because there gamers right on
+Shekky Bowen you are cool 👍
Great review! Thank You!
What size do you wear and how tall are you? A lot of folks on here saying they wear one size smaller than advertised.

@@beachjn86 thanks. I work outside for 8 hours a day and i'm glad I didn't find this out the hard way.
Darknaut the sweatshirt for whatever reason is much warmer. I have that and would recommend that for underneath a jacket
@@beachjn86 oh, good to know! I appreciate the tip.
I'm interested in this jacket. I normally wear medium and will get this in medium. How tall are you and how much do you weigh? Just want to make sure that medium is the right size for me.
I am 5'8" have both jackets and have a little stomach on me and Medium fits perfect in both styles. Just snug enough for heating to work
Does the battery come with it or do u have to order it
Like the video. Need to get one I live in upstate NY
I already got m12 batteries.. does the jacket come with the battery holder.?
Make a video saying holder or hold it. Please.
They got a 12 volt adapter for m18 batteries more ppl got those
Lol I wonder how long the xc 4.0 battery will make the jacket heated
So how big are you I normally use a lg should I get a med so it is a lil tighter on me so the heat will be right on me? Thanks for any help.
i love my heated jacket so much
Does it have heat in the neck area??
U can charge and heat at the same time
Which is better the Axis or the Jacket????????
Doesn't seem to make sense that the battery is a cylinder shape rather than something flatter to be more form-fitting. Are there other compatible batteries available with better form factors?
Not sure, only their battery is available for now. Hopefully Milwaukee works on it

Have there been any problems with the batteries? So many items that use rechargeable batteries usually end up exploding when they overheat.
+Mary Sherrill none that I know about...and yes, Apple & Samsung are total culprits this year on poor battery design

Large

TheMidnightNarwhal if you don't want to be cold, give it a go
I have the same jacket. I live in ohio. Its dope.
Order c usb style form ebay, for charging cable.
Would that battery location not be uncomfortable if you are sitting in your truck?
I have both jackets. The battery sits off to the side enough it doesn't bother me. I usually forget that its even there. Just every once in a while I have to move it over a bit but its WAY worth it
How much more to buy battery and charger

+Tommy DeWalt yes, when it's below zero that battery is no issue, lol
I'd get an m18 in a heartbeat if they made it

I was just informed that Milwaukee will not be making the m12 heated jacket anymore.
thats bullshit... if anything they updated it
I bought one on Amazon 3weeks ago
Does anyone run 4.0 or 6.0 batteries? If so how much longer does it last? I’ll have my jacket within the week and test anyways.
Is d battery rechargeable??
Dont bother with the m12 batteries get the m18 and adapter
how tall are you??
+goranr2 about 5'10"...why?
your height can be a reference for the size of this jacket. Thanks
+goranr2 the jacket in the video is a medium 👍
Can you wash it ?
Raul Jimenez yes u can
Garbage compared to cheaper ones on amazon n it dosent have a hoodie tha best i found n bought frm Amazon is A Brand Called Dewbu Heated Waterproof jacket which was only 109$ comes with Rechargable battery Had for about 3weeks n im very Satisfied with my Jacket..
I’m using mine now hunting. Didn’t last 2 hours and heat generation is poor. I have a video on my channel Buyer beware
Over Pittsburgh I'm from wv
So I have to drive with this big bulging battery in my back? No thanks!
I have both jackets. The battery sits off to the side enough it doesn't bother me. I usually forget that its even there. Just every once in a while I have to move it over a bit but its WAY worth it
Yeh that's a problem
You keep on calling the compact battery charger a battery. Not such a great review genius
