For artist TASHAN, living and working between two worlds means being able to express her creativity and freedom. In her songs, the Swiss-Indian singer not only deals with topics such as body and sex positivity, self-acceptance and empowerment, but also celebrates her pluriculturality.
In this episode of QUOTES, podcaster and community organizer Abilaschan Balamuraley talks to her about what living diversity can look like, how the social diversity discourse must continue so that we don't get stuck in our own bubbles and why eating together is a political act.
QUOTES is a platform that allows to point out and clarify existing shortcomings and social problems - there is no need to mince words. At QUOTES, topics around gender inequality, diversity and empowerment become visible. In this year's edition of QUOTES, Marie Serah Ebcinoglu (Missy Magazine), Maria Popov, Abilaschan Balamuraley and Mama Lior (Missy Magazine) will meet exciting personalities from the fields of music, art, literature and business. This season's QUOTES guests are poet and comedian ALOK, producer and director Paulita Pappel, sociologist and author Nadia Shehadeh, artist Annahstasia, and singer and songwriter TASHAN. During a walk through St. Pauli, an exchange of viewpoints as well as perspectives on current social challenges will be discussed.
QUOTES is presented by Keychange, the initiative for gender equality in the music industry.
