  • Hi! The Suzuki SX250 has been launched with much fanfare by Suzuki as a top adventure tourer. We got hold of one to ride and do a quick comparison to the top 2 benchmarks in the middle weight adventure touring segment, the KTM 250 ADV and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Hope you enjoy the video.
    Cheers!

I took 250 sx in highway it feels extremely refined and effortlessly cruises. It's not an offroader. It's a highway tourer better other two bikes.
If your requirement is 50% city + 40% tour highway + 10% off road = SX 250 is the bike.

Nice to hear kannada accent in english , I rode both the ktm 250 and vstrom back to back .
The ktm felt a bit grunty but the suspension and the light clutch feel a lot better than the vstrom . The suspension on vstrom is not even as absorbent as my classic 350. If offered with slipper clutch and better suspension, the price would be perfect for vstrom.

Many factual errors in this review by seniors,
    1) 13:06 The Indian VStrom is much more 'Adventure' oriented than international VStrom 250, It has higher Ground Clearance (205mm vs 160mm) , comes with dual sport tyres, is lighter by almost 30 kgs and has more suspension travel. So please read up before blurting out the international VStrom 250 is adventure oriented
    2) Conflicting statements, One of the guy says In RE you sit 'in' the bike like an ADV which is another mistake. Only in commuter/sport bikes one sits 'in' the bike. In Enduros, Dirt bikes and ADVs one sits highly 'on' the bike like in VStrom or KTM ADV 250
    3) One of the guys simply comments VStrom is not good for touring, which needs no explanation as it is already a proven fact that is a wonderful tourer
Overall, take this review with a pinch of alt.

Place order for ktm adv 250,
They said delivery would be in 20 days
20 days later they said 1 week
Like this they postponed by 1 week many times finnaly I said just let me know when it arrives
Its been almost 3 months now,
Last Sunday they said Monday it would come, on Monday they said Tuesday
Today is Tuesday I'm so fed up with them,
When I ordered it was 2000 rs less, in between it recieved a price hike which I'm expected to pay.

    Hey.
Avoiding putting helmet like that on the mirrors. Try ensuring the mirror stalk goes through the void where the visor is supposed to go.
The reason is that all helmet weight is supported by mirror which is in contact with helmet from inside. This can pressurize the EPS. This can form deformation. I did get similar troubles with my helmet. Thankfully very very little problem as I did so only twice.
I understand that you have far more experience than me. But thought I should share. Or maybe if there is something wrong in my reasoning, please tell.

Hi! Tough to choose between the two good machines. You must ride both and pick what you feel immediately comfortable on. Random question,
Is there a larger difference in general feel between a ktm adv 250 and a Hero splendor or between a ktm adv 250 and ktm adv 1290.
Because both are worlds apart. I want to understand why American RUclipsrs refer to 250 cc ktms as having poor power or poor power to weight, and how they aren't good for anything etc.

    • @bigbearbangalore
      @bigbearbangalore  2 года назад +8

Wow! Now that’s a question! 😀 Lemme attempt to answer….., the difference between the 250 and the 1290 will be felt significantly more than the one between the Splendor and the 250. This is because both the Splendor and 250 put out manageable power and performance and will unlikely to overwhelm the rider. Whereas the 1290 can intimidate even the experienced rider.
Americans are used to V8 engines that are 500cc in each cylinder! So their yardstick when it comes to engine performance is quite different to the one we use in Asia. 😊
      Cheers!

The only thing it's fit for is plush ride over city potholes or simple trails. Push it any harder the chassis will break and you cannot go beyond 95kmph comfortably.
