    What a rider on highways and mild offroads (typical indian conditions) wants is comfortable seating, enough power, reliability, fuel efficiency/range, good headlights for night rides, phone charger, integrated map, good windscreen, tubeless tyres and road presence.

      To be frank..I love suzukis... but at the same price here in Mumbai I'm getting a yezdi adventure and that looks like a real adv...more bhp and torque, more ground clearance, 3 modes for abs , including rain, they may come with a adjustable windscreen. It's a tempting thing for me as it also has navigation . The suzuki doesn't have any of the above except navigation...and is just a upgraded gixxer. So do think about it.
      Plus ur dealer may give u in the price accessories like the combined tank and engine guard, knuckle guards and top rack....so bargain good. With yezdi ur the cusotmer and have the upper hand so u can get a good deal.
      In the 2.5 hrs I spent there...I was rhe only walk in customer ...infact only customer. The owners specifically talked to me and offered the deals...not sales exec.

    Such a nice points explained, but I think some how KTM 250 ADV justify the 30k over the V-Strom. If budget & maintenance cost is not the problem, then go with the KTM 250 ADV

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 года назад +14

      That’s true brother. For a price premium of 30k, KTM is offering nearly 20% more power, dual overhead cam liquid cooled engine, better and more sophisticated longer travel suspension (both front and rear), better brakes, switchable ABS and it comes equipped with Slip & Assist clutch and feels quite modern overall.
      Usually buyers take a loan and stretching the budget to get the KTM will increase monthly payments by mere 1200 Rs or so, for a 2 year loan (at 10% interest rate), which isn’t as bad I think.

      @@FTRClub But one thing people emphasizing more is refined motor of vstrom. But I also heard that 250 cc ktm motor is also most rifined in ktm family. Is there a big difference between refinement of both engines? If we give vstrom refinement 9 out of 10, what score you will give to adv 250 refinement?

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  Год назад +2

      There’s no doubt that the 250 is one of the smoothest engine available from the house of KTM as of today. Just that the Suzuki is a tad bit more refined. If the Suzuki is 9/10, I’d say the KTM is 7.5/10.
      The only issue with the KTM’s power delivery is that there’s a near flat deal spot between 3000-5000 rpm and that is strongly felt in 3rd and 4th gear. Suzuki on the other hand is more tractable and does show any flat spots anywhere in the revv band.
      I hope this helps. Should you have any other questions, feel free to connect over Instagram (shubbuc) or add your comments here.

    Go for Suzuki less maintenance good mileage reliability smoothness telescopic suspensions are hazel free than upside down forks

      Actually reliability depends upon the owner’s care but its true KTM need more care ..{More power=less reliability}..KTM is benchmark for performance with high compression ratio, DOHC and complex engineering does make maintenance expensive..

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 года назад +3

      Thanks a lot for the kind words brother. KTM has slightly stiffer suspension and seat too is stiff, which makes it better for long distance touring.
      Suzuki on the other hand, has a comparatively softer suspension and as the bike runs more, the springs will loosen out a bit, making it softer.
      I personally liked the overall posture of the KTM as you sit higher and have a more commanding position and that engine compliments the riding dynamics more.
      For riding comfort, the Suzuki V-Strom SX is the winner. :)

    I don't think 250 adventure is worth the price it is ask for. Instead of 250 adventure wait for an year & get the 450x himalayan next year or wait for the hero xpulse 400 new model next year. That would be a smart decision.
    Suzuki 250 will soon feel underpowered & lack of turning off abs makes it an underperforming bike offroad.

    Geniniue review brother! New subscriber to your channel by this video. I'm also staying bangalore. Good to see your vidoes and detailed and great comments ! Quality of the video is top notch ! I am owning a 2016 model Classic 350. Planning to buy a new bike, so in search of many bikes and I finalised Dominor 400 and V Storm 250. I want sporty looking motorcycle, going aways from retro style, so did not considered honda 350rs, I'm 5.7 height. Bike weight is not a problem for me (you know about classic 350). I want to test ride suzuki, many people said issues of bajaj engine and service. I want to keep a bike for longer period and dont want to sell, to office, touring,pillion seat comfort, milage, handling in all these suziki has a tick mark. So I feel v storm is better bike. But still confusion because its 2.5L in coimbatore (hometown), lot of money ! Need a reliable bike that can stay with longer and I may not sell. So I can say 10 years may be. Not an upgrading motorcycle person.

      Thanks a lot for the kind words and the subscription, brother. Dominar 400 is possibly the most value for money bike on sale in India, today. It's an incredible touring machine. However, it's touring capabilities is the main hindrance of it being used in city. It's way too front heavy, turning radius is massive and the gearbox needs to be constantly worked to keep the engine happy.
      Suzuki V-StroMm SX however, is a different story. It might not be able to sustain as high speeds as Dominar 400 would, on the highways, but it's that much more friendly across all riding conditions. I am quite sure you will appreciate the lightweight design (I too come from a Classic 500 teal green, 2009 model). And then comes the reliability and impeccable build quality that comes associated with a Suzuki product. While Dominar may start showing rust and corrosion if not regularly pampered, the Suzuki will be just fine and won't ever throw tantrums. Considering the fact that you want to keep the bike for as long as it allows, I will definitely recommend the Suzuki for it's versatility, low maintenance, good fuel economy and reliability, over the Dominar 400.

    Can u suggest one between CB 350 RS and V Strom 250....I like the engagement of CB 350 and I was blown away by the looks of vstrom,but it did not feel as lively as RS....so need some inputs to choose between the two

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 года назад +16

      Well there’s no denying that the CB 350 RS is possibly the best looking affordable Modern Retro bike on sale in India today.
      Same goes with the V-Strom, it looks bloody brilliant and big, nothing like a 250cc bike.
      The reason why you enjoyed the engagement with it is due to the low end torque that it’s motor offers, which suits perfectly for our city rides. However, due to long stroke construction of the engine, it runs out of breath sooner than you’d realise on the highways. If it’s at 100-110 kmph, there’s hardly any juice left for highways overtakes which leaves the rider wanting for more, as the entire torque is delivered down low in the revv band.
      V-Strom on the other hand is more about peak power which can be leveraged on highways. At the same time because the initial gears are quite low followed by the tall 3rd gear, it picks effortlessly from speeds as low as 20kmph (watch my V-Strom ride review where I have demonstrated this). You will feel the liveliness of the engine past 6000 rpm or so and that’s the sweet spot.
      I am assuming that you didn’t get to ride both bikes for similar stretch of road under same traffic conditions.
      Bottom line is V-Strom builds its power where the CB 350 RS ends and both engines have totally different characteristics.
      If it’s city duties with a passenger, get the Honda. If city+highways is what you are looking for get the V-Strom SX.
      I hope this helps brother.
      On a separate note, if you buy a V-Strom or know some who is buying it, I’d request you to encourage them joining this FB group.

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 года назад +6

      For long rides, you must always go with hard seat. The reason is soft cushion will keep bouncing the rider and over a period of time, the lower back start hurting causing tiredness. Even if you get a bike with soft seat, do make sure you get it modified by adding at least one layer of hard foam on it.

    KTM has upside-down front suspension, better rear swingarm, liquid-cooled engine with more power. All these cannot be fitted as aftermarket products. For 30k extra, KTM is worth it. For daily use, vstrom is enough. I wish Suzuki give USD forks or at least thicker, longer-travel forks for Vstrom 250 in future. That would be great.

    • @FTRClub

      If your purpose is primarily touring and occasional off-road then I’d recommend you to go with VStrom SX. It’s a brilliant tourer which can do a decent bit of off-roading too.
      Main advantages of VStrom are that it runs smoother and cooler than KTM and then the life of parts like Clutch plates, chain sprocket, brake pads etc is nearly double on VStrom.
      Say, if KTM parts will need replacement after 10,000kms, Suzuki parts will live for 20,000 kms before they need to be replaced.
      However, if you are planning for frequent off-roading then I’d recommend you to wait for the upcoming bikes. Next 6 months, we are expecting Advs from Hero, GasGas and Husqvarna as well.

    • @FTRClub

      Compared to XPulse and Yezdi, these bikes don't even come close to capabilities over gnarly and technical trails. However, more than 95% (or perhaps higher) users don't go to technical trails. Keeping these facts in mind, both the VStrom and KTM will serve the purpose without complaining much. Given the right set of hands, both these bikes will take people for Adventure touring (including suspension bottoming out ;-) ), unless it's as crazy as Redbul Romaniacs.
      XPulse is on a whole different level I'd say. I know professional rally racers who use Xpulse for rally events. The lighweight nature of Xpulse is really friendly when taking jumps or quicker turns.

    There is a difference in meaning to Adventure atleast to these Suzuki and KTM for these bikes... As per them adventure is more sporty... So i guess hence these guys designed stiff suspensions and hard seats... Atleast to what we see as International models, they refer adventure as touring and partial off road vehicles which are extremely comfortable, high speed crusing and long travel and smooth suspensions.... I guess the bmw g310 gs is the only one which struck this property right.....

      @FTRClub  Год назад +1

      Spot on. In this category, 310 GS, CRF 300 L & Rally, Versys X300 have a more absorbing suspension.

      I’d rather recommend the Triumph Speed 400 for your usage. It’s a much superior bike with slightly higher price tag. But you’ll literally enjoy the bike on the hilly regions.

    At face value, Suzuki 250 pales in comparison with the premium KTM... Suzuki's only saving grace is the engine refinement.. But then not many will choose a bike just because of the engine REFINEMENT... Looks to bhi zaroori hai.. 😆

      Yeah, buddy. It may be a bit challenging but a 5’6” guy can be on tiptoes and yet balance the bike as it doesn’t really weight a lot.
      However, it’s ideal to test ride and feel comfortable before making a decision

      I’d suggest the KTM Adventure 250, if budget isn’t a constraint. The tall seat is very accommodating for taller riders.

      I think V Strom is better for daily commute use because of mileage and maintanance.
      the switchable abs dangour for on road ,the reason is if we switched off and forget to put on while riding, it will be dangerous to ride...switchable abs uses only for mudrace

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 года назад +1

      It depends Ribhi bro. I personally switch off the rear abs only when hitting off road on my friend’s bikes like the Adv 390, Triumph Tiger etc. But it’s good to have for city. Usually it shows up on the instrument console as soon as the ignition is turned on.
      Benefit of having switchable ABS is the rider can improve his/her riding skills by learning the proper technique.

    That's a detailed one...but I think SOCS works better than ktm ..in terms of heat ...

    • @FTRClub
      @FTRClub  2 года назад +1

      I am glad you liked it, brother. The KTM's engine runs quite higher compression ratio of 12.5:1 compared to 10.7:1 on the Suzuki and hence the engine tends to heat up much faster, which isn't the case in the Suzuki. There's no doubt that the SOCS on the Suzuki works flawlessly.

    • @user-pv7ir7tv8c
      @user-pv7ir7tv8c 2 года назад +4

      Right, KTM is known for heat due to high compression ratio. SOCS is best compared to Liquid cooled KTM.

      Good to hear that Abhi bhai. The engine heat builds up mostly in dense city traffic. SOCS is known to work flawlessly across Indian conditions anyways.

    • @FTRClub

      If you want a hardcore off-road bike & you will not carry a pillion, XPulse is best in business. It’s cheaper by at least 1lakh from every other bike, great mileage and very cheap to maintain. Plus you can find Hero service centre in any corner of the country.
      If you plan to carry a pillion and luggage plus you planning for lot of off-roading and don’t mind cruising at 90-100kmph, then Himalayan is a good option.
      If your main priority is comfort and long distance touring with good fuel economy and refinement, get the VStrom. It can cruise effortlessly at 120+ and has the best seat among all. The engine is most refined among others plus it also has the best build quality.
      If you are tall person like 5’11” or over 6feet KTM will suit you the best. The suspension is slightly stiff and the spare parts aren’t readily available even in the authorised service centres.
      I hope this helps brother. 🙏🏼
